As much as people want to delude themselves, it's not the Connie, it's the Applefied, Overstuffed, Over Engorged version of the connie from the JJverse.

I want my TMP T-6 Connie, I want my 2410 version of the connie, not this giant waste of disposable blockbuster movie TRIBBLE.

Think of it this way, with the way the new phasers work, FINALLY cannon effects will be fully on par with BFAW (because it WILL be BFAW)!

Sorry, but a Spoof ship does not make a T6 Connie and the refit version. So we the real Connie fans will still go on wanting the Connie. Now even more so!

It's not a spoof ship. It's a Constitution class starship. It bears the name Enterprise. It's captain is James T. Kirk. And this ship will be T6 when it debuts in Star Trek Online. Just because you don't like this style of it, doesn't change the facts that this is a T6 Connie.

Its the T6 JJ Connie...people are still waiting for the T6 ToS Connie.

Why do people keep forgetting to leave out the JJ and ToS part? people are acting like smart little TRIBBLE and saying well you guys are finally getting your T6 connies so shut up. When its pretty clear that over the years 99.9% of the players who have been asking for T5 or T6 connies are talking about the ToS ship. Did the announcement of the JJ ships being added into STO change the IRL timeline as well and erased any history of the ToS TV series? i'll have to check my TV guide to be sure but i'm guessing that its still there. So i guess people are just overdosing on their own smugness and forgetting that there are now two relevant Constitution classes in STO but they conveniently forget the other one just to make themselves look like the winner in an argument?

like seriously TRIBBLE this world man...

If I could get it to look like the Constitution class I first saw, which was TMP version, then I'd give the lockbox gamble a go.

To be exact, it's a Constitution class starship.

    Cryptic says so:
Federation characters may find themselves fortunate enough to win the Kelvin Timeline Heavy Command Cruiser [T6]. Also known as the Constitution-class, this formidable vessel is a true Command Cruiser in every regard, including the ability to utilize Inspiration mechanics, and coming standard with a Commander-rank Command Specialist Bridge Officer Seat.

    Memory Alpha says so:
The Constitution-class, also known as Starship class, was launched by Starfleet in the latter half of the 23rd century in the alternate reality. This class of starship differed greatly from its prime universe counterpart in both configuration and scale, but was exemplified by the USS Enterprise in both realities.

And this fall, a brand new revised edition of the Star Trek Encyclopedia will also say so!

all his "Yay Hype" for JJ stuff just confirms my belief that "true" trek fans, the ones who understand what trek represents and what it stands for are the great minority in this game, and their numbers are getting smaller. JJ is not trek, is not cannon nor does the story make any sense in any way, yet more people who play this game believe in the JJ.

You can sit there and try to defend JJ but you are lying to your self when you say it is cannon. But if you go outside of Sto into other trek communities, they hate JJ. Adding these ships and the "Kelvin" whatever they wanna call it is proof that Roddenberry's vision does not exist in this game.

I should not be so shocked anymore. Most true trek fans left this game years ago and never came back. Sto is not trek, It is and more so then ever just a space arcade with trek paint, and now it has JJ paint.

A true trek fan is a person who likes at least one incarnation of Star Trek. I grew up with TNG, enjoyed Voyager and Enterprise (first couple seasons of DS9 thoroughly bored me, I've watched some of the dominion war on Netflix though). I'll admit I'm not much of a fan of TOS, the only campy show I ever really enjoyed was Adam West's Batman, but I do love TWOK and UDC.

Guess what? I have a few issues with JJ-Trek, but I still like it. How am I any less of a fan than you?

A big chunk left with Delta Rising that is true. Also, the reaction to STO at the conventions is like.... that looks neat.... but these are people who do not play these sorts of games at all and did not seem motivated even with all the star voiceovers in DR to try. They might play a phone game like Timelines but that's about it. Aside from Keith Urban (edit Karl lol I thought that sounded wrong) and his legions of housewives followers jjverse gets uncomfortable and solid boos at every convention I've been to whenever mentioned. It's clear that young crowd here supports the jjverse. I would say it's a slight to modest majority overall.

As the saying goes, anything that's on-screen, whether TV or Movie, during a production titled "Star Trek", is canon. Like it or not, that's the fact.

As such, JJ-Trek is just as "Trek" as, oh DS9. I mean, DS9 did such a good job jaunting around the galaxy encountering strange new life forms (that somehow oddly reflected some bit of humanity) like TOS, TNG, VOY and even ENT did, right?

Now, I don't like the concepts of JJ-Trek. While it makes for good "summer popcorn action flick", it's not "Trek" enough to be "Trek" for me. But that's how life works in the Lens Flare Universe - I mean Kelvin Timeline...

Oh well, too bad the Connie didn't get a science treatment. Very low on my purchase list right now - because no TOS or TMP & extreme engineering focus...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

It's also about the size of a galaxy class starship. Not really a "style" point that (it's a different ship. It may have the same name and place in alternate history, but clearly things have diverged.) :p

Why do all the "it's not the right Connie" whiners sound like Cartman complaining about getting "Ants In The Pants" instead of "Red Megaman" from Kyle for his birthday, or insisting on getting an iPad instead of a cheaper tablet...

Meh, I think people are just looking for things to whine about. For example: other people's opinions.

Personally I like the Kelvin Connie and I want it dearly. But I'm not going to ignore the fact that there's significant differences between it and the prime universe version, because that would be silly.

Wow I am always surprised how much curses are thrown at the JJ version of Star Trek nowerdays.
I grew up with star trek and can say I been loving it ever since.
From TOS to even JJ versions.
    Why?
Simply I don't run around with some kind of fundamentalist additude, aslong the creators of each series put effort into it I will enjoy it regardless.
Each series had its own flavor and I am old enough to be fortunatre enough to even see outcries over series by Trekkies who thought that Voyager or DS9 werent trek enough.
I don't like this Fanatic additude towards all that is new, its like half of the people here go around like 80 year olds and say back in the olden days everything was better.
I love Star Trek for the reason it evolved over the decades from the old almost space western days of TOS over all the different Iterations to the new JJ films.
Because star trek kept evolving where many Scifi Series and sagas been long forgoten, or died Star Trek is still alive and kicking next year we get a new Series wich I am intersted to see where this one will head to.
What was popular 10 years ago is not that much anymore and if this new iterations bring people to the Franchise like TNG and TOS died in my youth I am more then happy to.
Remeber just bashing everything because its not your star trek anymore doesnt do anyone a favor, or do you rather have Star Trek bite the dust to be forgotten forever how so many Scifi sagas before it?
I as for the Connie itself I am more then happy to have this one as a choice its a nice design and maybe someday they release the TOS one too.
But by the end of the day think the fact each series boldly went into a new direction where none was before it and this kept it running for so long and hopefully for alot longer. ^w^
