    1. Shuttle bay doors don't open upon first leaving the ship.
    2. Crewman Flores as a shaved head, until he get killed by the Turian then he as a full head of hair.
    3. Endign Tarsi as green hair AND is wearing trousers.
    4. When Crewman Flores gets killed there are two Taurians, but you only fight/scare away one.
    5. The V key dosen't do anything.
    6. Can't get past the "Equip Phaser Rifle" mission on 4 attempts.
    7. Only actually got the "follow the survivor" mission pop up on 4 attempts, could still follow him to Dr Muller however.
    8. Whilst makeing a Human Captain setting the Stomach slider on the body adjustment scale to minimum, caused the waistband of his trousers to clip through his shirt.

    Thats all so far.

    9. the Taureian chief dosen't always appear.

Yes and the television network didn't like that so they had to rework some stuff and female crew members had to wear skirts, pants for female members of starfleet where a no no in this period.
The fact that the network changed their minds does not remove that example from canon. Given that by TMP (which takes place 1-8 years after TOS/TAS, depending on what source you look at) trousers were the standard on all crew, it seems reasonable that there were some women in trousers under the old uniform standard.

If you want to be that much of a stickler, there were no female crew members in the tactical/command branch either, so should we be preventing the creation of female tac toons as well?

Was just making an observation, my statement really warrented 3 posts about female crewmembers wearing trousers.?
    Calm down.
    Heh..
That'll teach ya to try and take women's pants off of them.

Film grain needs a toggle so it can be turned off as it is causing eye strain in short order.
Toggle aim mode is not staying a toggle.
Odd range distortion in shuttle bay made shuttle doors look pinched
    Shuttle flew through closed doors.
Dr. Mueller at my landing site when we set down.
Scientists have 24/25th century phaser rifles.
Can't progress through equip phaser rifle stage.

Please allow players to disable the film grain.
as far as the bugs I noticed
    - Shuttle cut-scene shuttlebay doors don't open shuttle flies through doors.
    - V key and search/scan button does not work
    - Taureian attack animations not working correctly (at least for me) the Taureian throw animation plays after a short pause a rock comes flying from underneath him.
    - NPC's using wrong equipment, 25th century PADDs and phaser rifles
    - Taureian chief cut-scene missing crew in the cave
    - Returning to the ship cut-scene is just a static picture with the shuttle sitting behind the ship.
    - Klingon soldier NPC in armory keeps spawning until sergeant is killed. Spawns near the first stall as you are entering the room.
    - Klingon ship boss battle the ship is either missing texture or is using the wrong model.
    - Enterprise nacelle pylons move together during warp out animation.
minus the expected bugs and the film grain this mission is looking good

Not exactly true...You did see women in the background wearing the miniskirt uniform in the gold command color. So you would have to believe, that they were in the command branch.

As for tactical, are we sure we never saw a female tac officer. Red was the color of Tac officers and engineers...so it is quite probable that at least a few of the females in red would be tac. I honestly cant beleive that all those women were engineers, without one wanting to blast stuff with a phaser.

    Bugs:

1)Shuttle doors do not open, and we fly through them
2)V key does not work, even during the time your character is prompted to use it.
    3)Dr. Mueler at landing site
    4)NPC's using 24th+ century equipment
5)Cut scene of Flores death needs to be a little longer, so players can get a better idea of what just happened
6)Stuck at equip phaser rifle...deleted toon and made another, logged out then back in still not working

Issues I have found so far:

Shuttle flies through closed bay doors.

NPC's on the planet have TNG Phaser rifles.

When doing the med scan at the crashed shuttle no tricorder or med scanner in hands. Animation of hands only.

Problem recognising that the phaser rifle has been equipped.

Klingons that have boarded the ship have 25th Century Romulan disruptor rifles.

    General Feedback:

The grain effect needs to be a toggle or removed, found it to be a strain on the eyes personally.
The general effects were very good, lighting, fog etc. and it did feel like an episode of 60s Star Trek.
Enjoyed the story and very pleased with the episode so far, can't wait to see it finished.
Anything that happens, happens. Anything that in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen. Anything that in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.
It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order though.

The shuttle bay door on the crashed ship is a bit off when closed, btw - nice animation :)

There actually is no on-screen person in a gold/green dress in TOS. There were two women in gold/green command shirt/sweater things that Number One wore, and there's Uhura in a TAN dress, all in the pilot. Remember, the gold uniforms are actually green (the same color as Kirk's tunic), but the lights/cameras of the time washed them out to a gold color. In the pilot, the command officers wore that green, and the ops officers wore tan. The tan was changed to red for the main run because it looked too much like the green on film. The network not only had issues with the women in pants, they had issues with women in command positions, and since green/gold was the command color, they wouldn't want women wearing it any more than they would want them in pants. So if we are going by what the network said, we should probably remove the gold tints from the female uniforms entirely. :expressionless:

As for all the redshirts/dresses running around, remember that red is not the color for engineers, it's the color for operations. Operations covers everyone not in the command or science tracks, so every officer from the engineers to the yeomen, to the security officers, to the people in the phaser control rooms wore it.

This is actually not true. In the TOS episode "The Tholian Web" about 25 minutes 40 seconds into the episode is the funeral for Captain Kirk. In that scene are two women wearing the gold skirt uniform. One walks into the room. The other is sitting next to Sulu.

also in balance of terror, angela was wearing gold, and in the pilot, uhura wore gold

^this. I hope the TOS Feds will be able to switch between 2410 and the 23rd century at will (though the description of the other missions indicates it's apparently the case).

Right in the beginning, I noticed on the Bridge the ship diagrams are all of the constitution class and not of the class of ship the opening cut scene made a point of showing us.

Hi All! Along with many of my fellow players of STO, I also noticed a bunch of things that seem more like things one would encounter in a alpha version of the missions, than beta versions.

    Problems:
1.- I had the Type 3 Phaser rifle bug, I did it all before the tutorial came up to tell me what to do. So after I could not get it to recognize the rifle I just logged out and back in and that fixed the problem and was able to complete the mission.
2.- Star Fleet personnel and 2 giants run up toward me, but their legs are not moving at all, until they are almost on me.
3.- When getting to the shuttle bay to go down to the planet, there were some invisible people. Then they suddenly appeared.
4.- Shuttle flying animation; flying through closed bay doors.
5.- Giants throwing invisible snow balls/rock chunks/spears at me but they don't appear until just before they hit me. So fast that I can't tell what they were.
6.- When the boulders, or Ice chunks, or spears "of destiny" (ha ha) when the spear hits one of the crewmen, I had to keep shooting the giant, but when I went back for him to try to revive him, he and the spear were gone. . .
7.- Electrifying the hull animation shows the giants who never touching the hull being electrified/just standing there. So how were they electrified if they didn't touch the hull?
8.- Perhaps because the electrical effects appear to be about 4-6 game feet away from the hull.
9.- Also noticed the invisible captives in the Chief Giant cut scene, that appear after the scene is over.
10.- Oh and premiering on Tribble the "test server" is the broken bug report server (Awesome!!) It lets me spend time crafting explanations of the bugs I encountered only to tell me "try again later".

I tried 2 times, once on each mission to create bug report tickets only to find out that the ticket system either was not turned on or it was broken. . . or perhaps to bogged down to even take a small text message? Sorry for the sarcasm!

There were many more bugs, but my fellow players are laying those out nicely so I will not. Perhaps it was just me, but although I loved TOS and grew up watching it, there were things that were just missing which kept me from feeling like I was part of the mission. . . or invested in the missions. . . Film grain did mess with my eyes, but I don't think that was it.

I am running a i7 ROG Laptop, with 24Gig Ram, a NVIDIA GeForce 980M graphics card. I run Skyrim at ultra high graphics. So I know it is not my machine having the problems. Tribble would not let me change the resolution settings, like I can on Holodeck. . . But the missions seem to be poorly made?? I have been on Tribble for many of the major releases testing and reporting bugs, and they were all "Light Years" (heh heh) ahead of this 2 mission, no ticket system release to Tribble. . .

Perhaps it is just me (so I will just speak for myself), but as a STO customer I have come to expect quality expansions, which included voice acting, (even from the developers themselves which I find better than this text only version.) The missions had working animations, and other things that gave me the feeling of being in those missions with my characters, or at least invested in the missions. Which I did not feel when I ran these missions in this beta release. Maybe those things are coming, at least I hope so. I have run a lot of Betas on Tribble and other games, but this one, again just does not seem like it is even in the same league. I mean didn't all of you folks get choked up at the beginning animation to the "Legacy of Romulus"?? It brought me back to why I love STO!

I hope that this is Not the shadow of things to come for this Wonderful Game that We Love! Thanks for your patience, your time and your consideration! :s

Switching instances a lot got past rifle - did not see chief bug. There was no reaction by the scientists to 'improve' their stance which should probably happen before release, they stay in the same pose while target practicing.

The Enterprise folds its nacelles up like its an origami crane when entering warp near the end of the space combat section; it's very odd.

That's a matter of resources. Even in the 25 century when STO takes place, bridge diagrams do not match all classes of ships. They match the class they were "designed" for. Take the Prometheus or "Defiant" bridges. They can be used on any ship but do not change to match the ship they are used with.

On that subject, I hope the Constitution bridge is the default for Agents of Yesterday as the Origin bridge would look odd in the 23rd century. It would also be nice to see one or two late 23rd century (2200's) bridges since it looks like we will be going there too.

ok how i just completed the rifle bug issue, i did the damaged repairs on the shuttlecraft the ALpha first then beta , thats the side plasma first and then the rear plasma. If you get to the bit with the dr and equiping the rifle and it doesnt continue you need to just jump instances until it does and it will let you talk to the engsign. Eitherway its very buggy.

    New/Old Bugs:

    Sing of Arms:

    1) Captain Garrets feet go through deck

    2) Bridge displays show Constitution Class

    3) In Armory still not able to shoot farthest left target (In an earlier attempt their was a crewman there firing a phaser rifle. I believe this would be why)

    4) Black Shadow over Shuttle

    5) Shuttle flies through clamshell doors in cutscene

    Search and Rescue:

    1) Doctor Muller is at shuttle landing site

    2) V key still does not function, even during prompt

    3) Flores head disappears into ship wreckage at end of cutscene

    4) Natives still throwing snowballs

    Bull by the Horns:

    1) Doctor Muller at survivor camp has Bajoran nose ridges

    2) Doctor Grogan gets stuck during the distibute phaser rifle point, after delay of about 1 minute+ he resolves issue and picks up his rifle

    3) Both Doctor Muller and Doctor Grogan are still using 24th+ Century Phaser Rifles

    4) During the Phaser Training Sequence Doctors Muller and Grogans Phasers sometime disappear

    5) During your toon's target the debris sequence, was unable to target debris. Tried various ideas (b key, x key etc.) none worked...

So after getting stuck again by the phaser rifles, I called it a day. No big deal. It seemed a common problem (not as common as the equip issue), so Ill wait till next update and see if I can move on...

OK, just patched to the new version and completed the mission, only thing I would add is that now Dr Grogan takes about 3 minutes to walk to the crate and pickup his rifle, other than that, the Pioneer class looks SEXY AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!! That is one good looking ship!
  • berginsbergins Member Posts: 3,453 Arc User
Have to confess, they may have caught this since I haven't had a chance to play since the patch, but...

I'm relieved (?) to see Flores had made a full recovery from his seemingly fatal skewering, since he's back on guard duty at the end of the mission.

Also, any word yet if he's related to the BOff?

as noted above the one civilian takes forever to get the rifle. the game completely crashed twic, once when i was following the thermal footprints and again when you warp out after helping the big E
    sig.jpg
  • gpgtxgpgtx Member Posts: 1,579 Arc User
i was also unable to target the debris but went into shooter mode and just fired at the debris manual and it cleared.

the one civilian did take 2-3 minutes to walk 2 steps to the crate almost like he was getting stuck on an invisible wall

also on this play through the 3 cavemen you encounter on the way to the chief where not there but still finished the mission with out issue

I think I understand why the personal shield mechanic was kept in, but I was looking forward to possibly having not to rely on ground personal shields. Like in the original TOS where you really had to hustle not to get hit by deadly and debilitating energy weapons.

The tearing basically just happens as you move around in the mission, on the ground side, space seems ok.

I got past the equipping rifle on first go after the lates patche unfortunealy I couldn't target or fire my weapons on the scrap. I managed to get around that by loading in an alt then reloading the bugged toon, and that worked.

Tarsi seemd to disappear for sections of the mission after that, I didn't get her back until after I killed the Taurian Chief.

In the small cinematic with the chief the 2 captives don't show.

At the shutte all the landing party is there includeing Flores and the 2 captives you rescued even though they are still following you.

I crashed to desktop at the end of the mission whilst loading ESD.
