They are clear on the fact that Enterprise very nearly killed the Star Trek franchise, right? The continued references to it don't strike me as the smartest business move.
In the DTI novels 29th century is seen as the lowest point for the Federation in terms of ethics by 31st century personnel. Daniels calls Ducane a facist and Ducane express disgust for civilians having jurisdiction over time in the 31stC. But DTI novels hands the time travel mechanics with coherence and intelligence unlike the rest of ST. Also, Future Guy is a suliban-romulan hybrid from the 26 or 27 century

Hell, rank-and-file Starfleet personnel of the 23rd century understood this principle: if anyone knows what you did, you failed. So how is it that the timecops of six centuries further into the future cannot seem to wrap their heads around it and instead blithely wreck the timeline left and right while claiming to be safeguarding it?
Because they ran out of ideas and just writing regular war stories but add "temporal" to it to make it sound futuristic?
Honestly, time travel and it's rules were never consistent throughout Star Trek. But the casual and nonsensical way STO does it right now and ENT started it really took the last good bit out of it. I'm excited we_'ll get a 23rd century expansion, even though it's all "temporal war" nonsense. But I personally would love to have a feature to "search and replace" everything temporal or time war related and every mention of the 26th, 29th or 31st century out of STO (and star trek in general?).

Hmm.. I bet Daniels is our primary quest giver. It's what he did in ENT. He showed Archer how to correct the imbalances in the time stream caused by other time travelers.
Yep, he sucked too hard at his job to solve the problem himself so he had to rely on the biggest idiot ever to sit in a command chair to fix his problems for him.
See, this is the inherent problem with the Future!Federation's approach to the entire Temporal Cr*p War. By making any contact whatsoever with the people in your past, especially in a manner by which they discover that you are from their future (let alone you outright telling them that), you are contaminating the timeline even further than it was already. The Temporal Prime Directive should be held as absolutely sacrosanct: only interfere in the smallest possible manner that allows a fix, and never let them know who you are.

I had a thought regrading this, what if Daniels is a member/puppet of Section 31? Being as how they're all about preserving the Federation, no matter the cost - maybe they do the same thing for the Galactic Union?
That would certainly explain why Daniels kept trying to dissuade Archer from taking any sort of extreme risks, and we still don't know how Archer managed to get to 22nd Century Earth from the Xindi Superweapon (maybe it was explained in ENT: "Stormfront", but I don't recall any of that).

I loved Ent and I'm loving all the Ent references. I don't think it had anything to do with ending the franchise. Ds9 was quite bad untill seasons 3 or 4. Tng got good in season 3 only. Ent was going great, at season 4 it was even better. Then it got canceled before achieving it's full potential. I'm glad Deniels has joined in. Even though I agree, keeping his part a secret to surprise players would be awesome.
Now, can we get Archer? One of starfleet's finest captain?
Also, maybe some more Ds9 stuff? We've got so much Voy, but only Nog and Letta from Ds9.
The biggest problem with Enterprise was that they didn't give it chance to settle. They panicked. They reformatted the show to feature a more tightly packed arc that had literally no breathing space, every episode followed on one from another and it became a chore to watch. Funny how once they resolved the Xindi arc and settled down for what sadly became it's last season, the characters were a lot more nailed down and the writing was so much better. I have a special fondness for the episodes that covered the Vulcan religious/political reformation and the subsequent building of the coalition between Earth, Vulcan, Andoria and Tellar Prime that would pave the way for the Federation. They didn't need to faff around with the music. I get that many people didn't like a song in place of an orchestral piece to start the show... but Enterprise for me was about bridging the world we are familiar with, with the world that becomes Star Trek's. When they remixed the song it sounded too much like a daytime TV show, more akin to the Littlest Hobo or something.
I could have done with a bit less Trip... his accent reminded me too much of W! LOL.
I'd also liked to have seen Reed go after T'Pol instead of Trip... we knew he had a crush (and it was really funny how they played into that), and a repressed/reserved bloke like a stereotypical Brit is something I think a Vulcan could find attractive in a human. Reed could have redoubled his efforts having seen the alternate future Enterprise which left him a bachelor (it clearly depressed him to discover that).
Despite its faults... I *don't* hate Enterprise and still consider it very much a part of the "family". Cryptic will obviously want to reach out to people who were fans of the shows in all their incarnations so we should not be beating up on them for referencing Enterprise.
And instead of moaning, give them a chance... they might write some content that will reconcile Enterprise to Star Trek in a way that most of its detractors might come to appreciate.

I really hope this guy is not one of my Boffs like Tovan Khev was. I mean that's how Daniels was introduced in Star Trek. As one of Johnny Archer's crewman so I hope that is not the case.
As for Daniels himself, isn't he dead? Sillik I if recall killed him. Not to mention I might want to have my officers scan the ship twice to make sure he didn't stow away any tech that could potentially put a bulls-eye on my hull.

Daniels died more than once. But his deaths always got undone by something Archer did.
It was i think in Home Front when they were stuck in WWII , Archer fixed it and we see Daniels at end alive and well. I`m not sure but i also think that was the last of Daniel we saw in ENT.
