This WORLD PRIMERE thingy in Germany this coming weekend is probably the announcement of Bakula and Shatner and Stewart and Brooks and Mulgrew all doing voice work for the game.

I'm actually quite happy about this. It wouldn't be a Temporal War without Daniels. If we're gonna do it, might as well go all the way.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Next up (or somewhere along the line): Bringing Archer/Chekov to STO. I'm calling it now.
I also wonder how Daniels and the others fit in..maybe Daniels is your C31st contact?
Chekov has already been announced and Koenig IS doing the voice.

Hurray! Very glad to hear this. Let's go break into his quarters and see what goodies he's left in there.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

Hmm.. I bet Daniels is our primary quest giver. It's what he did in ENT. He showed Archer how to correct the imbalances in the time stream caused by other time travelers.

Yep, he sucked too hard at his job to solve the problem himself so he had to rely on the biggest idiot ever to sit in a command chair to fix his problems for him.
See, this is the inherent problem with the Future!Federation's approach to the entire Temporal Cr*p War. By making any contact whatsoever with the people in your past, especially in a manner by which they discover that you are from their future (let alone you outright telling them that), you are contaminating the timeline even further than it was already. The Temporal Prime Directive should be held as absolutely sacrosanct: only interfere in the smallest possible manner that allows a fix, and never let them know who you are.
The Department of Temporal Investigations of the 24th century understood this principle. Hell, rank-and-file Starfleet personnel of the 23rd century understood this principle: if anyone knows what you did, you failed. So how is it that the timecops of six centuries further into the future cannot seem to wrap their heads around it and instead blithely wreck the timeline left and right while claiming to be safeguarding it?
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

A pleasant surprise to see Daniels coming to STO.
I didn't find him to be that memorable of a character, but his impact on the storyline for Enterprise was even felt in episodes he didn't appear in.
A welcome addition, and makes me wonder who else might still appear that hasn't been announced yet...

Because they ran out of ideas and just writing regular war stories but add "temporal" to it to make it sound futuristic?
Honestly, time travel and it's rules were never consistent throughout Star Trek. But the casual and nonsensical way STO does it right now and ENT started it really took the last good bit out of it. I'm excited we_'ll get a 23rd century expansion, even though it's all "temporal war" nonsense. But I personally would love to have a feature to "search and replace" everything temporal or time war related and every mention of the 26th, 29th or 31st century out of STO (and star trek in general?).

Wonder what he's up to this time. Making sure that our character gets his/her raktajino in the morning, so that a diplomatic mission doesn't go south and our ship won't get shot to pieces? (kidding ^.^)
Great addition, thumbs-up! Can't wait to hear/see what happens @ FedCon

Excellent...THIS is what I would love to have NOT the OLD ancient stuff from 50 years ago. I hope there is more Futuristic stories than the old kirk or old TRIBBLE TOS

Here's a thought: what if Daniels' mission was to make contact with Archer?
So, Im really glad that Daniels is finally coming to STO, but you know, for a char like his, I feel it would have been WAY better to release this blog after the expansion, and let his appearance be a surprise to players.

Quite probably. Oh well.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Then his masters are either malicious or incompetent and he should have disregarded the order. The point still stands that somehow, starting with VOY: "Relativity", the single consistent rule of behavior followed by Starfleet in the overwhelming majority of preceding time travel situations, that you should actively avoid tampering with the past, started getting tossed out the window in favor of intentional interference by Future!Starfleet.

(apologies, I just couldn't help myself. No intention to offend)
I wonder if they're going to answer the question left hanging from Enterprise, regarding the identity of the mysterious figure bossing the Suliban around in season one.

In the AoY Announcement, Checkov was one of the mentioned characters (along with Scotty).
Thank you for the time...
