I'm sure they'll give us a Constitution noncombat pet so we can all enjoy "flying" one no matter what character or era.
Or an interesting suggestion would be a special reward for completing everything in the Temporal recruitment event: Constitution holo-disguise for every possible ship. Keep your gear and stats, get the Constitution skin.

You know, that's actually a good idea. I'm sure if it existed it would be a timed item like the ones you get with latinum, but it would still be something cool.
I read this announment as us getting a T6 Connie. I know, I know, they didn't literally say that, but the door, at least, seems open. I mean, they say we would be able to fly ships from the era. Would be pretty lame to tease us like that, and then not let it be some sort of era-related Constitution class ship (that looks the part).
Indeed. From the teaser, to the new trailer, to the popup advertissiment in Arc, avery single add for this expansion had a Constitution-class ship flying around. If after all of that there's no endgame Constitution-class... epic lameness. Cryptic has pulled-off nearly every possible wackey-trek-fantasy you can think of. An Enterprise-F. Iconian galactic ivasion. A Romulan Republic. Standard-Issue temporal shielding. The Klingons conquering the Gorn, for heaven's sake. A Constellation-class can solo-kill a borg-v'ger command ship. And rainbow tribbles.
But wait, a players want to fly the single most iconic ship in all of star trek lore?
.....NOT PLAUSIBLE!!

There are some pretty serious implications in the latest Salami tweet.
Just saw that also.

Not YET.... besides the ranger is damned close. I doubt they really went through all this trouble to overlook that unless CBS just seriously puts their foot down.
His tweet has nothing to do with the connie, as there isn't a t6 equivallent.
Yes, though "TOS Endgame" ships are, generally, in existence. Making an Endgame Constitution-class slightly more likley

I thought there was some statement made about using T1 Costumes on T5 or T6 Ships.
'But to be logical is not to be right', and 'nothing' on God's earth could ever 'make it' right!'
Judge Dan Haywood
'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
I'm hoping it comes about the same way the Dauntless-class did, as a last minute annex to the pack?
Or, perhaps in the same way as the Pathfinder-class, as a post-expansion ship?
Or, perhaps in the same way as the Resolute-class...
Then again, I'm not getting my hopes up. CBS and Cryptic have foolishly enforced this pointless prohibition since the start, which has only damaged the game and franchise. I would not be surprised that they still disallow the Constitution, even in its own time, even in the face of having used the model in EVERY adversitement for the expansion, and continue to keep it held below ships like Daedalus, B'rel, and others.
At least I am not the only one agitated at this.

There was. They said if you own a TOS ship AND it's T6 variant, you can use the TOS skin on the variant. But there is no T6 connie variant(yet), so that statement has nothing to do with the connie(yet).
So any1 else notice the constutlation has a tos / tmp / tng / future varients now. Thought the dead would b t1 and hr connie t5 in a tos era . Lil confused by that
If this is indeed a new faction, it's going to need more ships than what we see in the pack. Those are, presumably, going to be the 'free' versions that everyone who plays the faction has access to(similar to how there are many free options for the current factions).
That being the case, I think(as some others have suggested) the connie will wind up being a free ship, and at a higher level than T1(unless you buy the T1 version). The connie is just TOO iconic to the time period this expansion will be set in for it to be relegated to T1 only.
He said if you own BOTH a TOS ship AND it's t6 variant, you can use the TOS skin.
The problem is, they didn't make a t6 variant of the connie. They made a t6 variant of every ship EXCEPT the connie.
So until they make a t6 connie variant, then his tweet has nothing to do with the connie. Sad but true.
True, but it seems very weird if salami_inferno was just using such convoluted language to say "No T6 Connie for you".
I think it's more likely that he knows that there is a Tier 6 "Cruiser" variant in the expansion. Maybe even in the pack, and it just is not explicitly named as such.
Anything else would be unnecessary cruel to all the Tier 6 Connie fans.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
I watched the trailer again and the Enterprise in it seems to be slightly different skin than the t1 connie Ive seen in game... perhaps there will be a "Fleet" t5u version for us? Im cool with that. Esp if we can use TMP skins

I truly wish this to be the case. (I had the same thought on my own also.) If there remains no endgame Constitution for an expansion that is set in the very era of the Constitution... then it's just false advertising. Though I am unwilling to get my hopes up.
The (arbitrary) prohibition against the Constitution class came from CBS, and has existed as a "FCT" for a while now. This expansion, along with the anniversiary, is the chance to work around that. Otherwise, CBS/Cryptic's persecution of the Constitution-class will continue.

Well, a T6 Connie after years of "there will not be an endgame Connie" would be enough for a blog on its own, so if there IS a T6 equivalent coming, with backwards compatability, they are probably just saving that announcement.
But if they DO give us a T6 analogue, I hope and pray it can use the Refit and Excalibur parts as well.

Last straw, I'm done with STO.

Not really, since the Constitution does not have a T6 equivalent or even a T5 equivalent. It would definitely be cool but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Since there is no T6 equivalent to the Connie, that doesn't help much. Would be nice however.
