Considering it was considered top of the line ship in that era, yes, I do find it strange. Personally I'm not that hung up on a T6 Constitution version. More of a Sovereign person myself.
Again I say...
The fact that we've been essentially allowed to go amok talking about a T-6 Connie (and its ilk) for the last three months or more, with no Mod telling us to stop...,
Is the best clue to one actually coming down the pike.
I agree. That is very compelling evidence.
I'm going to keep my expectations in check mind you. There's no official word yes, and still you know the post and the FCT entry, official word saying no. BUT ... there's a lot of hope and reason to speculate. Which is cool.
And really I know people are combing over the blog post and the offer sheet and the dev tweets like crazy analyzing every minute detail, but this is pretty standard operating procedure for their PR cycle. They haven't told us all of the details. And will be releasing it in drips and drabs. So like one very valid guess is there is going to be a T6 "Cruiser" that is an analog to a T1 Enterprise Class cruiser. And that will allow skin swapping. But they're saving it for its own big announcement. Maybe? I don't know.
Either way, what I've already read and already seen is awesome and has me happy. I get to go play TOS space barbie!
Heh, Nail head, meet hammer. Releasing info on the single most requested thing in the game bundled into the announcement post would be a HUGE wasted opportunity for a PR surge. The day they announce the ship, STO is going to get press like it's not seen since it went F2P, so they need to wait until the info on the new expansion is fully gelled before they do it - that's if they even release it with the expansion, and not immediately after as a standalone ship (which would be the smart thing to do).
Why was page 4 a no post land with two collections of page number links?
It's a bug in the board software that happens when a mod deletes the first post on a new page - which is why that empty Nagus post is going the be hanging out at the end of this thread forever.
I just had another thought on the ships show.
Like LoR they are only showing off the buyable ships. Not the free ones you would be expected to play in the ToS faction. So there very well may be T1 single nacelle destroyers etc. And anything for Rom/KDF is in the background for now to whet appetites. Because if I knew I could do all three and do them well? I would have to buy new toon slots and whine why we can't launch now.

That's a good assumption. There's a new T1 ship in the list on the new Arc STO launch page - the Pioneer class.
That page is filled with blatant lies, though. There is no version of Neghvar that matches the description on the page and IIRC, the Scimitar is level 50.
IIRC, you can still use T5 ships from level 40 onwards. I may be mistaken about the Scimitar though (it could mean Subadmiral II *shrugs*). Also, the listed Galaxy has an identical weapon loadout to that of the Negh'Var..it could be that the Negh'Var has been confused with the Vorcha in this instance.
That ship had me, right until the side view. Oyyy it looks awkward
If it were a fuller secondary hull mounted directly to the saucer rather than the little neck, it might look a bit better imo. Hell, even just moving it back a bit would work.
Thinking about it, it reminds me of the nebulon B frigate from star wars.
EDIT
Would you use "utilitarian" to describe that? Because that's what it says to me.

Odyssey, Bortas, and Scimitar have T6 versions now. Maybe there's an updated version of the Neghvar being added in the expansion they haven't shared with us yet? Unlikely I know, but anything's possible.

The description on the site calls it a "utility cruiser", so yeah, apparently that's what they were going for.
What's keeping them from using the Kelvin-type? If it happened before Captain Kirk in the new movies, it should be a go-ahead....
Very, very fine line they have to walk there. They get their license from CBS, not Paramount, so they don't have the rights to the JJ movie stuff. They can make something similar (like the one above), but get too close and they will get their butts sued. Basically Paramount and CBS share all the things from Enterprise and earlier, but anything after is separate. No movies from the new TV show, and no TV show from the new movies.

The ships don't just exist within the confines of the expansion, though. If they make a higher tier connie for the expansion, they have to make it for everywhere, and we're still bound by paramount's (rather arbitrary) edict about higher tier connies.
I kinda just want to know if the Ranger is going to be upgradable to T5U.
same.. if we cant have a T6 TOS ship then at least upgrade T5 to T5u

Well, you go around making a dozen threads about the same thing, get warned to stop doing it, and the continue to do it anyway, you should see what's coming.
That fact that that is going to be there forever is most disturbing, kinda-sorta takes the fun out of posting here...

Well that's just silly, there is no logical reason to put the deflector there rather than just integrate it into the main hull like with some of the other new (old) models. I guess there are only so many combinations of the same parts you can do but seriously that looks like an arrangement my nephews would make. Eh
Now if it was elongated to roughly the same length as the hull that might make more sense.

Reminds me of a proto-Miranda, so I think it is a good job. And fitting for a T1 we get for free.

I really don't think so.
