Romulan Ships weaker then every other faction.

Ok so ive searched the forums high and low and even googled TRIBBLE.

Ive got quiet a few different romulan ships and ive noticed across all of them one particular trait. They are Weak, the power levels dont line up with power levels of other Factions and that they can be blown up with a sneeze from any enemy,

Rom Skills, All Shield skills at max Structural integrity, Armor reinforcements, and Hull armor all maxed out, Warp Core Skills all maxed out and my ships power levels are horrible compared to other races. on Fed and klingon i can have weapon power set to maximum and can have shields or engines pretty well close to or over 3/4 of the way to max or higher.

With buffs my Fed Tac officer has weapon power if 125 and shield power of 95. same with my Klingon Tac officer.

on my Romy i have weapon power to set max 124 and my shield power is only able to go as high as 53 with buffs.

running power levels on balance they are all showing a base power level of 40 instead of the usual base power of 50 so overall loosing 40 points of power distrubution on Romulan over Fed/klingon side.

as far as Survivability every romulan vessel i have tried, i can have any enemy in an STF sneeze on me and my shields are gone and hull demolished even popping Boff powers to regen shields or hull repair there is just ZERO defense or survivability for romulan ships. . on my klingon and my Fed tac offciers i can stand toe to toe with any borg/8472/dyson etc enemy and survive an encounter in 1v1 combat or evern a small group of enemy's where my romulan just gets hammered and killed.

this needs to be investigated and for me, it kills the enjoyability of my romulan when i am constantly dying and having to repair ship damage in STF's and wasting tons of repair parts each fight, i stopped playing my romulan because im tired of being weaker then my other charectors

Sorry, but what you mention is a far cry from being a bug.

Romulan warbirds have two advantages: one is the battlecloak, the other is the singularity cores. For both, Romulan vessels pay with a global 40 power reduction. That's how it is, and it's advertised in the shipyard on every warbird. Also, due to their mobility, most warbirds have hull and shields equal to escort vessels.

It's been this way for quite some time too. Legacy of Romulus has been out for a year now.

This said, Romulan warbirds are broadly considered to be very powerful despite the power drop. The Romulan faction also has access to Superior Operatives and Superior Infiltrator traits on their Boffs whom, while expensive on the Exchange, provide the Romulans with unprecedentedly high critical hits and decloaking damage spikes.

If you need help making your character/warbird more powerful to compete in STFs, start a thread about it in the Romulan Flotilla forum so that people will be able to give you advice and steer you in a direction which will help you feel more competitive.

    Really?!

Bottom line, the romulan faction is the most powerful one. If you die with your romulans in PvE content, then you're doing it wrong.

The T5 romulan ships are very good, but the newbie romulan ships suck. I remember having a hard time fighting the Elachi ships in the normal Mogai. It turns like TRIBBLE and tanks like paper, and nobody puts out a lot of DPS at that level. The Elachi escorts also seem to put out way more DPS than they should at that level too - I think there might be some issues scaling NPC's to your level with those missions.

Once you get to Level 50 the game becomes easy-mode, I agree. But while you are leveling up the warbirds just suck.

I have 2 romulan toons, and I blew right threw episode content like nothing, and yes this includes the elachi.

Yes warbirds have 40 points less power, but using a fleet core, and putting skill points into actual heaven forbid warpcore capacity/efficiency, and all 4 subsystems might actually net you some survivability.

In case you aren't trolling as others suggested, some resources that make STO more comprehensible:

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Main_Page
For information on the actual items, sets, doffs, boff traits, captain traits, etc that you can use to set up your ship. Also covers diminishing returns on DRM vs what you get in DR%, among other Skill effects; at the current effectiveness, "Armor reinforcements, and Hull armor all maxed out" may be investing too much in high cost skills at minimal benefit.

    http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/search.php
Lets you see what other players have tried out and built. Includes information on payload, skill points, traits, etc. Also allows you to set up your own mock-ups so that you can plan out what you want to grind for, if you don't want to use someone else's setup.

    https://home.comcast.net/~amicus/Skill%20Point%20Effects.htm
A quick table of the various Space skills and how they actually affect your abilities. Note: The listed DR%'s for the Armor skills assume no other sources of DRM, which is unlikely to be the case and overstates the benefits. Not perfect, but useful nonetheless.

Honestly, what I've found (and I've been playing a Romulan since LoR came out): Romulan ships are incredibly powerful once you understand how to play them. They're also not terribly intuitive, so they have a fairly steep learning curve.

The battle cloak and singularity powers are things that take practice to figure out how to use effectively. Until you do that, you're going to die a lot.

I'm a new player for a month now. As I see it >>The Battle Clock<< is no good, for when I un-clock battle ready (alt-space) they are firing on me same time, when there should be a delay, not same time. You offer great ships only if you belong to Starfleet, if Klingon- Romulan, all junk you get. Delta flyer is best shuttle you can get for it has the ability to have fire and heal, the rest has 1 or the other, but you can only get it if your part of Starfleet.

My thought is who ever goes with the Klingons don't get a full game. Please let it be known that if you go this way you don't get the good things in the game, so people can make a good decisions with out being disappointed.

Nice necro. And the "romulans and Klingons don't get a full game" theory is so untrue that it's laughable now.

Weak ship or lame build I let you decide. In my case I do is focus on survivability more heals and TRIBBLE while most of the people I see focus on damage and attack probably going for the saying: "The best defense is the good offense"
But if you don't have a good build yet you need to focus on heals or cloaking as in: "Cloak and dagger"
