new update, cant play game

ive been trying to load the game for .....2? hrs, i get the launcher, but then it crashes before the loading screen can even show up.

i sometimes get a message saying something about HTTP create url grupe cant be found in dynamic link library HTTPAPI.dll

no idea what that means other than something is .... lost? started to happen after the update before this one

    Well my issue is it seems like the game refuses to refresh its self and freezes for long periods of time...when I do finally get a chance to click the play button. It lags out and then I am back to square one and have to try and catch the game napping to log in. Plus the enviroment doesn't look any different from the last time before the update. Why is there no version number released withthe notes?

    I now get maybe 1/2 of the way to load the game, then it crashes, its an improvement ....... but still doesn't help me.

    I wish that the error reports gave you a copy of what was wrong, just so you can at least see whats happening, even if you dont understand it. (some people might)

    Same here. Arc Log in works. Game launcher works. Verify all files works. Click engage and game goes to Cryptic loading screen. Halfway (or so) through load up and game crashes. Cryptic Error sequence works.

    Too bad - I was really looking forward to season 11.5 and the new skills system. Every second that goes by inches my finger closer to clicking the 'purchase now' button for Fallout 4. I am a one-game-at-a-time guy. I am either going to spend my money there or here. Once I start Fallout - I will be gone for months and my monthly gaming budget will go to them instead of you.

    I am a hardware guy, but I am having difficulty understanding why Cryptic has so much trouble adding content. I am beginning to think that their base was never designed for modularity - and as such they have to reinvent the wheel every time they make a minor change. Starting to question dumping any more money into this game. Truth be told, I am already at the point where the time I already have invested is the only reason I do not move on. 'Playing' the game has become a chore - between the forced episode grinds and the unreliability of the platform, I do not look forward to playing any more.

    even after the last patch i still cant get on.

    I hear that, there are too few things that are really worth doing after X point.

    total there are only 2 red alerts to deal with, would have thought that there would be more, if there is a rep point for it, there should be an alert for it but all we have is the "deep space encounters" that only give some minor resources.

    fleet actions require you to have 5+ players to play and get the rep/fleet marks, and I prefer to solo it, get in blow things up and leave.

    but its too much of a grind and not as much a game now, there should be more alternatives

    I'm in the same boat. I can't log on at all. Once the loading screen shows up it just stalls out. To a stop and go pace. It stalls for mins at a time, then only go for a sec. Since the 11.5 patch. I have yet to log on.

    Its really sad how a simple update breaks the game for players. I been on WoW and they never had major issues like this. If they did, it was fixed ASAP.

    yep, they just had another patch, but still cant log in, means that "WE" who can not login, miss out on the events or any special things going on in the game. and while i do admit my PC is older, its able to run Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 (edited settings) this is the only game that's really giving me any problems.

    my loading bar gets to the ING of the loading word before it crashes.

    Nice to know I'm not alone. It's 6pm Thursday April 14 in New York state and still can't log onto the game either. Been this way since the update on Tuesday April 12. No change with the daily patches either. Also "force verified" several times to no luck. There are two messages I receive after about 10 minutes of the game trying to load and they are "Account Ticket Authentication Failed" and "Login 2_Timeout". In the 3+ years I have been playing this game I have never experienced a log on issue like this. The closest I ever experienced was when LOR was released and that was fixed pretty fast. Otherwise I have never had an issue like this before, plus I know it's not my computer as everything else appears to be working fine and this issue with STO just started with Tuesdays update.

    Had the same problem. Try loading the game by enabling safe mode and turning off full screen in the arc launcher. I am running the game through Steam so I also disabled the steam overlay. Sorry I cannot be more specific as I did it all at once. Once I had turned all those off I loaded to the character screen, exited the game, turned off safe mode and the game is working now.

    I don't have steam, I just access the game thru the launcher. I did try it in safe mode and made it all the way to gameplay for about a minute til it started freezeing up on me. I tried again but couldn't even make it to the character screen. Doesn't seem like there are any patches for Friday so looks like some of us are stuck til next week, when hopefully whatever the problem is gets fixed.

    Good luck with that...the "Support guys" are about as useful as a barn door in space.

    They always help me when I need help. They always solve everything.

    One time I even managed to delete my main account. I contacted support but they said it usually wasn't possible to get it back, but they worked hard for a week and managed to restore my account.

    Judging from your picture, maybe if you were nicer towards support they would be more approachable. And they would probably help you more, computer games and printers are some of the most difficult things to create! Because it needs to work on every system, with every configuration of hardware and software, it's impossible to test all kind of combinations and sometimes things just don't work out.

    Be nicer when you're asking for help, and maybe you'll get it. :)

    I've played this game since beta release and I've never had problems running the game. Unless it was on a crappy laptop, but that was just my hardware not keeping up..

    Do keep in mind that this game is not supported for Windows 10 or Mac.

    Also. If your game goes "dead" after a patch. Uninstall the game and make sure to delete every folder there is, the game does not delete the settings folders etc upon uninstall. Then re-install and patch the game.

    If that does not work, try to google up some commands for the launcher so you can start the game in safe mode or try to force verify your files!

    Also.
    If you are getting error messages about DLL's. Google the DLL and see what it is. Is it a Windows DLL or a DLL for the game? If it's for the game, search for the DLL on your computer and delete it. The game will re-download it. It could be corrupt!

    You could also try CC cleaner and clean your windows registry while the game is uninstalled.

    nope nothing wrong with the dll file, its only when i try to run STO that it has a problem, just like its the only game that crashes on my computer ...... thats still older, can run Starcraft 2 ........ guess im playing that instead

    Same here spy8446, not running a mac or win 10 either. Hopeing not to have to uninstall and reinstall. Guess I'll have to wait to see if the patches work next week before I go that route.

    Same boat here. Just won't load .... cycle ... cycle ... cycle. Finally logged in .... 40 minutes. Wont be doing this very often.

    Yep I've been having the stupid HTTP TRIBBLE it has to do something with missing ddl for the arcchart.exe Which I don't even use.

    Also I've been having problems with Star Trek Online lately its dew to the latest updates with Season 11.5 game crashes on login screen.
    Funny thing is after an update was patched the crashes stopped. But than a new patch was updated and yet again I was in the crashzone. And here I am at square 1.
    The thing is I found out why it was crashing - it appears that there are 2(two) files causing this problem. Unfortunately I dunno which fines... How do I know that there are 2(two) files causing this problem - lemme take you on a small journey to the space to tell you my sad tale. I had to download Steam cuz I read in the forums that steam can see the problem by verifying if all files are legit and if there are damaged once it replaces them.
    SO I verified the game through steam (had to download the game again cuz I was using Arc) and steam popped up a message saying you have 2 files which are damaged. Steam replaces those files and VUALA all's well ends well.
    BUT THAN The Cryptic Launcher Patches those files back with the broken once AGAIN and BAM!!! Back to square 1... and into a never ending circle...
    So this problem only could be fixed if someone of the developers bothers to check the content of their patching update. >:^/

    I tried that. Doesn't work, still the same error message pops up even after clean reinstall.

    I was having all types of problems like this due to drivers issues. do you have any software like Drive Booster 3 that searches the internet for updated drivers and loads them into windows? I disabled mine. then wanted to see if a fresh restore would fix it.

    So I went to where the game is installed (in my case Drive D \program files (x86)\Star Trek Online_en\star trek Online

    And renamed the folder called Live to OldLive
    I then ran the install again. Most of the stuff of the game, including your ships and data are actually stored on PWE's side. So you will have to wait a while for it to download. But if it works good, you have it solved.

    This is what worked for me, but your actual mileage may very. Do not staple, bend, fold, mutilate, or uglify, professional driver on a test course, do not attempt at home. and subject to any and all other disclaimers now or to be developed.

    i tried it in safe mode three times, got to pick my character, failed to load all three times but was slow as hell, took 5 min just to select each time then the log in would fail, had to just leave it as, nothing was fixed

    Yea I am still in the same boat as u spy8446. I have given up trying in the hopes next week there will be a patch that will actually fix our problem. From the looks of a couple previous posts there are a couple of corrupt files that were loaded in the Tuesday 11.5 update. I'm going to give it til the end of next week and if its still not fixed I'm gonna delete the game and re-download it. Just dragging my feet on doing that in the hopes i wont have to.

    what is the best way to remove STO ? or is there a "Repair" option in it or something? i know some programs do have that for missing or corrupt files

    As I stated in one of the replays I tried clean reinstall still doesn't work... Those couple of corrupted files have to do SOMETHING with the launcher itself. Cuz every time I try to verify the game through steam, steam launcher finds the corrupted files and replaces them with proper and working once. Than the game launcher re-replaces them back with the corrupted once.
    And if you run through the Arc launcher it just opens you directly the game launcher.
    At least in the steam launcher they have a separate system to check independently the entire content of the game for any bugs.
    But in this case the game launcher simply patches up the corrupted files immediately after you start it.
