    Definitely agree as well. Not sure why they have not done it yet. They still make more money with pets than R&D minerals. Those pets really asking for it monkey-24.gif​​

    Now that the skill system is revamped, i'd like to see careers revamped to bring in some of that diversity many people want.

    Maybe have a "talent" tree that works like the skill tree, but let's you choose career specific captain abilities. Maybe tacticals get to choose between APA and 2 new attack patterns, while sci and eng get new abilities that provide similar increases in effectiveness, but with a career specific flavor (a sci equivalent to APA could add bonus exotic damage to weapons, for example). Where possible, I'd make all choice levels have 3 options, with damage, tank, and support (healing/buffing/and cc type stuff) options, and it would function like the skill unlocks in that you could only ever have one from each level.

    That's not Boolean. You're talking about doing searches with multiple keywords. Thing is, it's been brought up before, the issue with complex searches is the way they work under the hood. The system needs to search each keyword separately, then it collates the results. Thus for your example, it would actually be four separate searches then the results would be collated. This takes over 4 times the system resources as the way the system works now.
    Well, I was under the impression that most "keyword" searches operate by automatically inserting the Boolean operator AND between words unless you insert other operators, but I could be wrong and it's not that important.

    My point is, when I first used Champions version of this exchange, it had been at least a decade since I had encountered such a limited search engine and that includes other MMO's I had played. I find it needlessly difficult to use, so yes, it's something I would like to see revamped and improved. I would also like them to fix the returned results so that each page fits the window size and eliminate the need for scrolling.

    Yeah... but if you can only use one Boolean operator it's not very Boolean. :p and/or/not/xor....

    anyways, we do have some functionality like that, but not much, mostly just setting quality and categories really.

    ground needs a revamp. New Rom is ok from a change of direct combat some scanning missions swell as combat, Dyson Battlezone is ok, but mainly cause its a source of dil farming, if you catch it at a peak time and theres no silo campers. But the rest of it is meh.

    I agree with the Pets tab. This is the only MMO I've played with non-combat pets as items rather than abilities. A Pet tab in the inventory would be fairly straightforward.

    Make food give a longer-lasting buff to out of combat health regen.

    Defera could definitely use some work. I heard they lost the source code for that area though.

    I'd also revamp the Captain's Table. Make the wholesaler into a commodity vendor that sells everything, preferably at discount.

    That was me. How do we know they do not trust each other. I would say that some trust each other and some do not. But still that is not a good enough reason to keep them separate. At the end-game the Federation, Klingons and Romulans are allies, they have supported each other so why not allow players from each side join a fleet from that is the opposite to there own faction. This way it will speed up fleet project completion and players will socialise more. Also may be introduce different titles to those joining the opposite faction fleet.

    Also what else could use a revamp, amour, alloy and plating consoles.

    I'm personally tired of revamps of things that don't need to be revamped. The skill system revamp wasn't necessary imo...better descriptions were all that were needed not a revamp.

    It seems like they're going that direction though, considering how similar kit modules and ground-based skill manuals are to each other already. All they'd need to do is to turn the captain's kit slots into a sticker sheet to match BOFF skills and turn all kit modules into training manuals.

    I'm kinda looking forward to the possibility of our BOFFs being able to use kit modules from events and lockboxes, even if it may never happen.​​

    I disagree with you on that the skill system does not need a revamp. I think it does as for example I had points left to spend and the only thing that was available was the starship batteries.

    I do agree that more description is needed. More information has to be displayed, specific and the "Examples include" should be removed. Just list which skill goes with which abilites. Same goes for the consoles.

    More exploration is also need. Star Trek is about exploration.

    To add to the exploration, more things that are being discovered in reality could also be added in to S.T.O. Develop missions and a story around them.

    Umm, the term Boolean means binary - on or off, yes or no, 0 or 1, positive or negative, high or low. You're correct about how it would apply to search, no argument there, just thought I'd clarify the actual meaning.

    And yes, it would be lovely to be able to just type in the part in the square brackets without worrying about entering an exactly matching string, which is a problem because one cannot always deduce in what order the attributes/bonuses will appear.

    Actually it refers to using multiple search strings with "Boolean operators":

    AND: find something that is both A AND B

    OR: find something that is either A OR B, or both

    NOT: find something that is A but NOT B

    XOR: find something that is A or B but not both

    Boolean searches drastically increase the amount of processing time to perform the search.

    Examples:
    Antiproton beam array; CritD AND Pen
    Antiproton beam array; CritDx2 Pen or CritDx3
    Antiproton beam array; CritDx2 NOT Acc
    Antiproton beam array; CritD XOR DMG

    but those are simple searches, more complex searches would include nested operators.

    The developers could also make transferring dilithium between characters easier and may be for T6 ships, have common mark 12 items as standard items.

    Yep, I thought about that too. But TBH in NW pets (or companions) are like BOFFs here. Real pets there like Doohickey, Adorable pocket pet still take inventory slots...

    Still a pet tab would be fantastic. And I wouldn't mind them expanding pet play. Collect, upgrade, heck even pokemon style battles... tribble breeding is a good start.

    The fleet system defiantly needs a revamp. It is difficult to track the progress of member's contributions and when to promoted them.

    Also the armada system needs a revamp. I have already have 3 beta fleets and 1 gamma fleet in the armada but yesterday a fleet was interested in joining us but I could not send an invite due to being the alpha member I can only invite 3 beta fleets and they can only invite 3 other fleets, which they would be known as gamma fleets. I am planning to ask them to invite the other fleet but it would be easier to do it another way. Also members from the other fleets are not always online.

    It would be a good idea for a developer to comment in this forum. How can we get a developer to join in this discussion? I can only think of sending a private message to them.

    Also for all ship set consoles how about introducing separate consoles slots for the sets. Then those slots that are used for the sets would be free to use other consoles. If they do introduce these they can balance the stats by for example, each set will have an equal number of consoles. Example 2, if they introduce an odd and even number of set consoles, those with the odd number will have higher values compared to the equal or more numbered set consoles. Example 3, separate console or sets that are designed for a single ship can be built-in to the ship and have the number or numbers increased or decreased so it will balance with the other consoles. There are ways that can make this work and balanced.

    It's been stated the achievement system will be getting a revamp. Other than that the pvp revamp is still in the works as well. I've seen a few good ideas in this thread as well.

    What achievement system?. There is a skill system which has been revamped and will be released soon. To add to the increasing list of revamps, the social system needs a revamp. It does not mostly list if someone is in a fleet. When you right-click there is no option to send an e-mail to them or private message them.

    Would be good to have a developer join this discussion and possibly pin this discussion.

    After deciding to start a new character i wanted to create a specific weapons build for her ship, Plasma [Crtd]x2 [pen] just for fun, how hard is this turning out to be, 1st theres no mk ii on the exchange to bypass the terrible random number infuriator crafting system, then i'm held to ransom by the RNG system as i try to craft them.
    Crafting needs a serious overhaul and the obtaining of materials. lets cut out the RNG TRIBBLE

    Update new toon scrapped as i lost patience with it

    I'm rapidly coming to hope for a console revamp that opens up unique consoles to be used on a wider variety of ships.

    I'd also like to see genetic sequencers become an account-wide unlock.

    Then maybe a dramatic expansion of the contents of the lobi store.

    Off of the top of my head, there is one thing I want changed: The shuttle mission.

    I personally hate them. I'm pretty sure I'm a rare bird in this because I don't see a lot of folks complaining about them. In fact, I don't think I ever seen a post complaining about them other than my own. But I just cannot complete them.

    Thankfully, the game lets you skip missions, so I'm okay with not doing them, it just means that there is content I'll never see. Like the Gamma Quadrant since I never gotten past the - Disable DS9's Sensor Clusters - part of Mission: Operation Gamma.

    The way I would change them is make them the same as any Away Mission and like Away Mission you would get to bring your bridge crew with your Captain, with each in his/her own shuttle to help you get through any rough parts ( like trying to disable NINE Sensor Clusters ). My bridge crew saves my bacon often in away missions, I just wish that they could do the same in all of the shuttle mission. :)

    So in short: Shuttle Mission treated as Away Missions. That's the revamp I'd like to see.

    The most CRITICAL revamp is the PvE queue system...it has always been virtually dead ON/OFF since inception. Designers need to come up with better solutions to encourage team play. Many players suggestions have been documented in the forums yet no solution. I won't go into details except for just trying to bring it up. Otherwise, this would go teh way of PvPs.

    Another critical reavamp is the adventure zone. They are in need of some TLC. Great areas with virtually no rewards. More incentives needed for folks to stick around like more DIL/Lobbi drop offs/or just extra rewards perhaps.

    Last, Defera invasion needs an overhaul as well. It has always been buggy beyond playable.​​

    1) pet inventory

    2) bridge unlocks. If I want to use my Oddy bridge on my palisade, let me. We already use everyone else's tech with our consoles

    3) remove the max boffs limit. I want to create more members of my crew. I'll pay for more slots.

    4) improved exchange search

    5) if I have a Romulan boff, and I'm fed, let me use a fed uniform

    6) Let me choose what boffs are at what bridge station

    7) I've done loads of diplomacy. ..time to let me select another boff from the kdf. I want my gorn science officer to go with my orion security officer.
