Since the sector space had a revamp and now we are expecting the skills system revamp. What other revamp or revamps do you think will be next? I think the fleet advancement system does need a revamp. It is difficult to track other players overall holding contributions progress. It would be a good idea to show their previous overall holding contributions and what they have recently added. If it is possible, add an automated option or options to promote players with options on how to promote the players. I promote the fleet members in the fleet I am in when they have added an item or items to the fleet projects but I am not on S.T.O everyday. I think a lot can be done for the fleet advancement system and other systems.
I know it's already been done recently, but I'd like to see a revamp for bridge officer ground abilities. The current setup makes perfect sense for space, but I'd really like to be able to equip customized ground kits on my bridge officers. While I'd miss triple medical tricorder/shield recharge cheese, I fully admit it's silly that we can even do that in the first place.
Cryptic wins with such a system as well, since it adds even more value to kits and kit powers.
Not sure it'll happen though.
Edit: I'd also like to see these revamps/enhancements:
1) Loot drop revamp: Replace trash (food, consumables, white/green gear) drops with EC. This would strengthen the value of the crafting system and give players more pew-pew time and less inventory management nonsense. Currently in ground content, I don't even pick up anything below blue/purple.
2) Pet collection system: A system for collecting pets (space and ground) that frees up inventory/bank space. This would add value to pets--I currently avoid them because I lack room for them.
I'd like to see a change in the loot drop table. Just bump up the chance of quality and maybe add some items not currently available. Maybe a UI update would be cool too.

You should see the number of pets I got in my bank...
Even if They just gave us a Separate Tab for the pets (like They did for R&D), that would be a godsend.

At the very least I would like it if they scaled the consumables to our level. Give us only smalls from 1-20, mediums at 20-40, and large at 40-60. That would help clean things up a bit.

Champions does this, and given the amount of copy/pasting between these games, I would think that means it's possible.
Which reminds me of one thing I'd like to see revamped, our awful Exchange system. It blows my mind that a 25th century system can't even do Boolean searches. This is an example of something they copy/pasted from Champions that I wish they hadn't.

Ok... what is a Boolean Search when it comes to the Exchange?
A Boolean search would allow you do a search like this,
XIV Antiproton [crtH] array
and it would still be able to find what your looking for. You DO NOT have to type out the entire name, in order, just to find something.
Boolean is basically how ALL modern search engines work.

I don't know about anyone else but I think Defera could use a cleanup and revamp. Bring it up to date with more modern battle-zones and update the rewards. I always thought it was backwards to get more fleet marks than Omega Marks in a zone designed to fight the Borg. They could use Voth Ground as a template/example. Divide the three sections a little more, once the three zones are captured it triggers an assault on the probe.
Another change i'd love to see is customization versions of Security Escort. You could have a trait that beams down, Omega operatives or Maco assault troops, or any version of armor from the Reputations instead of the normal security escorts. They could use the same abilities as the security escort so it wouldn't affect balance much and have them stay with you until they die or you complete the objective.

Very much agreed with this. When I came back to this game, I went to Defara to earn 500 marks for a particular item, took days to get it. Then I went to New Romulus and was stunned to make 500 marks in a few hours.

Even if They just gave us a Separate Tab for the pets (like They did for R&D), that would be a godsend.
I am so on board for this, really a separate tab would really help alot and free up a ton of much needed space .
"There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life." - Ten Bears (Will Sampson)
What they can also do is allow KDF members and Romulan members allied with KDF to join the Federation fleets and the Federation plus Romulan allied with Federation fleets join KDF fleets, especially that the Klingons are allies of the Federation again at End-game level.
R&D or more to the point how we collect materials. This play a stf and get a box with random materials is a pain in the backside. I'm sure the R&D boxes in the Zen store only sell when there's a promotion on.
Bring back the old exploration clusters with missions focused on exploration, where i could go to Cluster A. farm what i wanted or Cluster B. farm what i wanted. Like in the old days.
Not all of us are rich enough to buy off the exchange.
Pet tab would be nice. They take up a lot of room that is for sure.
Defera / Omega Rep could use a rework. The marks are slower to get. And the end reward is not up to par like the others. It don't have the large Dil payout and other rewards for completing the Rep.
Loot drop. Larger targets needs better loot chances and quality of loot. Specially the "boss" types.

not really a revamp as such but I liked the way they marked up the T5U and T6 ships with their tier values and wish they would do the same with the rest of the ship tiers.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
I agree with much of this, but I want to point out to whoever it was above (as I'm too lazy to scroll back up), the fellow who was talking about fleets, they're seperated for a reason, bc I don't think that, despite them being allies again, the KDF and the Fed want each other in their fleets, because they don't trust each other, y'know?

I love these ideas. I'd love to see more combat pets and even a horta bridge officer
I'd like to see a revamp of the exchange to make searching for items easier. Sometimes if you're looking for a specific mod on something it's a bloomin' nightmare getting the exact right text in the search box to get it to look properly. Made even harder because mods are listed in differing orders on different items so you're never quite sure which way to write them.
Also I'd like to see Defera revamped to be a combo of the Voth & Kobali battle zones. I think both have good points to them which make for interesting persistent zones.
Oh and while we're talking revamps, someone please let Taccofangs loose on DS9!
Ah thought of another 1. Khitomer Space Advanced. I can kill the cube and sphere guard within 15 secs then i'm hit with the park and shoot each transformer coming up against a 2.5mil hit point sponge, then once i've cleared them, another hit point sponge of 5mil to kill the gate.
The map is not hard in fact its rather easy, its just very tedious and boring waiting for auto fire to finish off a static brick.
I read that as 'Otha revamp'. Now, that zone could use some attention...
- Other revamps I would like to see are a Devices revamp (more slots, and what some have suggested: a way to collect these kind of things without needing ever more bank space - Q Winter wonderland weapons for example are needed once a year, the rest of the year it shouldn't take up too much bank space)
- And some social maps like Andoria and Vulcan, maybe add some mini-games with interesting rewards there.
- And maybe a Borg ground revamp. Have them move faster, do something unpredictable (and I don't mean, have them jump tens of meters high whenever they're hit by fire or plasma grenades), make them more threatening. Right now, I'm taking a Voth spec ops more serious than any borg drone.
- Ground weapon visual revamp.
- Species revamp. All species should have a special C-store variant which comes with a special ability. Not something that will make a huge change in the sense of combat potential, but just something funny to have. Right now, Vulcans have the nerve pinch for example, but it requires a trait slot. Sell special species in the C-store where these things are innate.
And more different species in general, like the Voth. I wouldn't mind if this means that we get less ships for a while. I mean, we can only fly one ship at any time anyway, so releasing a new ship every month doesn't add much in the sense of player experience. A new playable species or even a new career would make much more difference.
- And now that I'm thinking of ships: maybe remove the need to put special consoles on it if you want to use its special abilities. Make them innate abilities. Example: the Vesta should always have one of its console abilities available. Only if you want to use set bonuses or more abilities, you should have to put the consoles on this ship.
This especially, it's kind of insulting to defeat a Captain or Admiral-level boss and get...a small hypo/power cell/shield charge...
I think loot drops should be more based on rank of enemy.
Ensign/Frigate- 70/15/15 Common drops/small consumables/nothing
Admiral or higher/Capital - Very rare 30% chance or nothing.
or something along these lines.
or more even more simple put everything on 70/30 chance something or nothing and in that 70% chance an equal 10% chance to get common/uncommon/rare/very rare/small/medium/large consumables.
or the other way around 30/70 something or nothing then everything would have a 4.2% chance to drop.
Oh another thing I would like to see is a 'revamp' (might be a big word for something so specific) of prices for ground items. Right now, whenever you walk through a battlezone, you'll collect so many items which are, in the end, worth so little.
Increase the prices of 'vendor trash' and have it drop less often. This would make walking through a battlezone more fun, without a need to clear your inventory every few minutes.
It blows my mind that a 25th century system can't even do Boolean searches.

and it would still be able to find what your looking for. You DO NOT have to type out the entire name, in order, just to find something.
Boolean is basically how ALL modern search engines work.
That's not Boolean. You're talking about doing searches with multiple keywords. Thing is, it's been brought up before, the issue with complex searches is the way they work under the hood. The system needs to search each keyword separately, then it collates the results. Thus for your example, it would actually be four separate searches then the results would be collated. This takes over 4 times the system resources as the way the system works now.
Revamping the Exchange search and interface would really be neat.
I don't think it strictly needs something like the support for multiple keywords - it could just have a deeper categorization, so you could pick
Ship Weapons -> Dual Heavy cannons -> Anti-Proton
And then you enter what you want specifically in the search field, like [Pen] or [CritD], and get only AP Dual Heavy Cannons.
Ideally it could also have the option to pick
Ship Weapons -> [any] -> Anti-Proton
---
Other than that, I don't have many ideas what to revamp. I would be more interested in extensions maybe, or new developments.
Crafting should be extended for disassembly/reverse engineering of items to gather materials and maybe new recipes.
An extension to upgrades or crafting that allows picking your desired modifiers (at a cost).
Maybe with some kind of special upgrade accelerator or a new category of item that can be slotted for an upgrade. When a rarity upgrade occurs, the item is consumed and the specific mod selected is applied. This doesn't alter the cost of getting a rarity upgrade, and allows incurring extra cost for the guaranteed mod.
Maybe it could be combined with reverse engineering. You have an item with a mod you want?
You get a reverse engineering kit, and apply it to the item. Each step, the item loses one mod, and you gain a "Modification Kit" that allows you to get that mod on a compatible item. Once you hav removed all rarity grades of the item, the item is completely disassembled and leaves its base materials behind.
Oh, maybe one thing that could be overhauled:
Loot.
Choose one of the following options:
Replace Need/Greed with Round-Robin as default for teams. The need/greed system is not really used as intended, and it can't really be, because there is just not stuff that you actually "need", other than the EC value. And that's why Need is the standard option for most. Or Pass, because you don't want your inventory to be cluttered with garbage.
Add stuff to the loot tables that is worth having. Maybe a special modifier that is only available from loot drops for each item category. Maybe add some loot sets. Elite Marks.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
