Say a genie offers you but one wish for Star Trek Online, and the genie will grant you whatever you wish.
I thought about it and what I wish for is asymmetry in the character creator. Different sized eyes, asymmetrical facial features, and asymmetrical hands so you can have one big hand / one small like a crab has.
What would be your one (1) genie wish for Star Trek Online?

I would select one of my characters, who would be turned into a NPC that would play some important role during an episode. Commander of a fleet during Midnight for example. With restrictions made to the name of that character of course, so that it's not possible for others to create new characters with the same name.
my wish would be a fully interactive totally realistic holodeck based version of the game, with full safety of course.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
T6 Connie.
Either that or a pox on the person who said NO to it at CBS.

Realistically, the removal of time restrictions on events. When someone asks zone chat "where can I get a decent sci ship for my Romulan?", I want to be able to respond with "go get the daily from Q and choose the 2016 vouchers as a reward."
if we're talkin more character related like the OP's own wish? hmmm probably Branching dialogue trees that actually matter
But seriously, I would wish for improved Dialogs. Its 2016 after all, not 1984.
Each character class of each faction had their own story that interrelated with the others. This way canonically there are three Roms, three KDF, and three Feds.

uhm okay.. this is not world of warcraft.. or even knights of the old republic...
No more lockbox and Lobi store items. Any items that were in them to be put into the cstore under the same per character restrictions, at a reasonable price instead of the price gouging gambling way...
more options in the Alien character creator tool
Face it, Tovan has been a good first officer. It's time he had his own command. I'd give him my old Mogai Plasma Torp Boat with a crew of torpedo jockies and he'd be the perfect backup for my current beamer/shield-stripper build.
Each ship must be equipped by the player, leveled up by the player, and staffed by the player. It would remain active in the player's roster, so if the player chooses he can command the ship simply by acting as Admiral Aboard. When the player calls for Fleet Support, a random selection of these ships equal to the tier of the player's current ship -1 appear to fight by his side.
For example, assume I am in a T6 ship and hit the button for Fleet Support. If one of the ships in my active duty roster is a T5, it may be called upon to come to my aid, or a T4 and a T1, or a T3 and a T2, or even two T2's and a T1. Exactly which ship/s arrive to assist me would be somewhat random, depending upon what I have in my active duty roster at the time. If they sustain critical damage, I must repair them at my expense, and they cannot respond to Fleet Support calls while damaged.
The good side of this:
I would have a sink into which BOffs and otherwise currently unused gear are put to use.
I would have incentive to spend more Dil and Zen to gear up ships otherwise used for junk storage space.
I would have incentive to own a variety of ships, requiring a larger number of active duty ship slots.
The bad side of this:
Development time.
Very true. But that is the strength they have that is a little weak here. So if I had one wish I would give STO that strength as well.

Honestly, there's no way that one wish would ever be enough. There's so much that needs changing/doing with the game that one wish just wouldn't cover it, but for the sake of the discussion, I'd go and wish for more defined characters; what they're capable of doing, what their traits make them capable of doing (each species would actually play considerably differently), and I'd do away with dead wood (Pakleds I'm looking at you here).
I'd like for one of the Romulan ships to share a Ship-Trait with an existing Fed ship, and the other to share a NEW Ship-Trait with one of the new Klingon intel ships.
Same idea with the Klingons: A currently Fed-Only Ship-Skill shared to them and their other new Intel ship sharing the new Rom/Kling Ship-Skill.
That way every faction has one Intel Ship-Trait to call their own, one they "share left" around the faction triangle and one they "share right" around the triangle. And I could buy them ALL for a reasonable price.
Boring wish I know. Maybe I'll have a different one tomorrow.
