SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE [FEBRUARY 25TH, 2016]

yetweallfalldownyetweallfalldown Member Posts: 13 Administrator
Greetings Captains!

We will be having our scheduled maintenance tomorrow 2/19 at 6AM PST for 3 1/2 hours. You can find the patch notes here.

In addition to the scheduled maintenance, our team is planning additional server maintenance. As a part of our strategy to provide you with the best quality of service and availability possible, we regularly update our internal infrastructure. One of these updates is due this week and therefore a longer maintenance is required. We need to perform more tests than usual and to lower the impact on your end we’ve decided to split the maintenance time between two days. Starting on Thursday 25th Feb, 6:00 am to 9:00 am and continuing on Friday 26th Feb, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm. This doesn’t mean you cannot play during these hours but please be aware certain services might be slower or unavailable. Rest assured we do our very best to keep both maintenances as short as possible.

We value your feedback and want to help direct it to the right locations. Please check the following link to redirect to the best sub-forums to post your replies.

Submitted a patch for testing that should improve responsiveness of carrier small craft; there was a change a while back to underlying UI that was causing a disconnect in how the craft received orders.

Thank you Jheinig for noticing and implementing a fix for the long-standing problem. Look forward to flying my flight decks and carriers to see the improvements in action.

Some really good things in this coming patch, including attention to the brand new KDF battlecruiser skins, and much needed acknowledgements regarding Leeta uniform plus fixes for invisible limbs.

Goes without mention that whatever internal infrastructure may be, if it results in smoother gameplay responsiveness and so that more are able to log on, stay connected, and play, it is among the best of things on the list that should not go unnoticed.

Again, I feel the need to complain about the way the Liberated Borg are looking in the terran uniform. I'm glad they've fixed the color and the shorts and such, but there really needs to be a full body infected complexion or two. Having them being head only on such an expensive race to play as is terrible. More so, when you include the infected complexion being used for all of the alien race characters. Is there any chance we could get an update or preview of those?

•Destabilized Plasma Torpedo no longer benefits from cooldown reductions and other enhancements triggered by projectile weapons.
•This item is a Console, not a Weapon.

That's a terrible nerf to the Destabilized Plasma Torpedo. Console or not, a torpedo is a torpedo and should receive the same CD reduction options as other torps. Not only that, but it has been functioning this way since Legacy of Romulus came out, but you're suddenly changing it NOW? Why? Please reconsider this - it's extrememly arbitrary.

Otherwise, there is a lot of good in this patch, and I am grateful that you decided to split the downtime over two days, instead of having one marathon session. That is extremely thoughtful of you!

I agree completely, leave that poor torpedo alone, it's already hard enough to use it like most slug paced destructible torpedoes that rarely make it to their targets these days.

I quite agree. Console or not, it's a torpedo and one that is already pretty hard to get any use out of.

i wouldn't worry...they already tried to fix this issue once a few weeks after LoR came out, and i didn't work then - what are the chances it's going to work now?

Updates made to carrier small craft, fighters and raiders, so that they will be more responsive to carrier commands.
Added Full Impulse ability to carrier frigates, including:

    Breen Frigate
    Callisto Light Escort
    Elachi Frigate
    Herald Frigate
    Klingon Fek'ihri Frigate
    Krenim Frigate
    Tholian Frigate
    Xindi Frigate

I approve of that. It's always been silly that fighters could keep up with me when I went for the next mob, but the supposedly more independant frigates couldn't.

Why aren't the Klingon B'rels on that list, though?

I figured the best way to get something nerfed or buffed is to start by using items you really, really, like less and less, and use items that you don't care about getting nerfed more and more. With the way PWE/Cryptic's track record is, that will eventually get the gear you really like buffed up the way you want.

It's obvious that Cryptic/PWE doesn't care about player input, they just nerf whatever is being used the most so people would spend more money to get "better gear". Look at the skill tree revamp, there will be a lot of pissed players when it launches. Yet despite the majority of the feedback being negative, the devs are sticking by the "fact" that players lose nothing, and Bort BLATANTLY said in a Priority one interview that you may have to sacrifice some abilities to make up for others.

Sorry for the rant, but with the Devs track record, I'm not surprised if everything gets nerfed so you only do 1 point of damage MAXIMUM no matter what.

Little disappointed about the destabilized torpedo, but i can at least see the reasoning behind the decision.

Was also hoping this snippet from the tribble notes would make it to the holodeck early.
All energy weapons now benefit from unified Range Drop-off Mechanics.

All energy weapons will now lose a maximum of 50% of their base damage, when fired at maximum range.
This drop-off begins at 2.0km from the targeted Foe, and increases linearly out to max range.
This change unifies the mechanic by improving Cannon weapons which previously lost up to 60% of their base damage at 10.0km but slightly decreasing the effectiveness of Beam weapons which previously only lost 40% of their damage potential at 10.0km.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Yeah, they just don't have a proper skin at all. :/ It's not the Terran uniform it's all of them. :/

Added the following search categories to the Exchange:
    Salvaged Technology
    Fleet Ship Modules
    Ship Upgrade Tokens

That's a nice addition, but I never knew you could buy ship upgrade tokens for EC, how much do they generally go for then?

In my experience they go for 12-15M at the moment.

What I find a bit confusing (just a wee bit ) is this: why add Salvaged Technology as a separate search category in the 'change? I mean, it's an R&D material, and that's already in there.

Here I've been wishing to upgrade some of my fave ships to T5U but not having the real life dosh to afford it at the moment, meanwhile I could have bought the upgrades for EC, you learn something new every day.

And yeah I would have assumed salvaged tech would come under the materials category.

Elachi Subspace Torpedo Launcher now properly gains a modifier when upgraded from Blue to Purple and beyond.

Does that mean the Elachi Heavy Crescent Cannon will get fixed soon too? That doesnt get a mod when it goed from blue to purple either. i just assumed that was normal for it! XD

*Added dagger armbands to male uniform options*

Where are the patch notes that say,

*Added graphics to use daggers (Mirror, Dk'tagh, etc.) in melee combat*
    and
*Updated Foundry Interface UI to allow for mission search other than Spotlight and Top 50* (see sig below)
