Of all the ships this game has, I always go back to the T-5U Fleet K'tinga. The only way that ship will ever be replaced is if a T-6 version is brought up. I think that particular ship is the most beautiful design in all of sci-fi. The STO version definitely does not do it justice, but at least the ship is playable. I currently have 3 characters with that ship.

I disagree, when you dump the intel skin and use pure white type 6/7 with brightly colored decals she is quite lovely! I used red and black decals and tossed on the Iconian set on top of a pure white skin and named her U.S.S. Roxxie.
Fed main: tier 6 Defiant, and loved my defiant from tier 4-6.
KDF Main: Raptor carrier, love at first fly.
Rom Main: Aelahl battlecruiser. Love the look and love the way she flies.

I do as well, but prefer the K'maj for its stats ;)
I am a big sucker for large carriers and have always flown them since they first came out. The larger the ship, the more I am in love... that despite their slow turn rate and distortion of one's depth and distance perception. I currently fly the Iconian Vonph Dreadnought and while it does not show any "turn" animation I am absoloutely in love with that ship. It is larger than anything else right now, and it is menacing. My cup of tea for sure!
When it comes to ships I like quite a few of them but only truly love a few. I have a few ships that are practical and a few that are impractical but look so cool that I couldn't pass them up. Yes, I'm a sucker for lockbox ships because most of them look the coolest. I have more ships than I thought I would ever own in this game so it's kind of hard to pick one but there is one ship I keep going back to. I was one of the few to snag an Iconian Vonph Dreadnaught. This thing is massive and looks like a spider on steroids. It's design is meant to strike fear into its enemies which precisely what I want it to do. However, with my build its not slow by any means and gives escorts a run for their money. What can be more cool than flying the biggest player available ship in the game at rediculous speeds
A close second is the Narcine Aquatic Carrier this ship was my go to until the Vonph came along and stole it's place. The Narcine was so sleek looking it was hard to give up for such a massive ship.
I mean, the DSD certainly aren't perfect, but my Rom's a big fan (my biggest irritation with its flaws is the experimental proton weapon not accepting subsystem targeting (it'd be so perfect for a ship whose theme is flexibility) - it's certainly not the toughest, or necessarily the best on firepower, but man does it look good rending the fabric of space time.
On a broader note: The intel ships are made of paper mache, generally, but that's their trade-off. And they're a lot of fun, for me.

My forum single-issue of rage: Make the Proton Experimental Weapon go for subsystem targetting!
I love my Odyssey. She's a giant, slow, space whale, but she has ample nacelles, and I love her!
I'm also one of those "odd folks" that really likes the Dyson Destroyer too, at least on my Romulan... the full console set along with the Solonae set makes it fun to fly.
T5-U Fleet K'tinga Retrofit! Its quickness and turn rate make up for its lower hull strength and fewer tactical slots. Also...I have always thought this was one of the nicest looking ships in Star Trek. I wish Cryptic would come out with a modernized version of it without taking away too much from the original look and feel.
No, because I do not feel any emotions towards pixel-made objects on my screen. It's just a tool with a cute look, in my book.
I share that point of view, and agree with Tuvok in his conversation with Janeway that a ship is a collection of bulkheads, and do pity the Vulcan for having to tolerate such Human limitations.
I have been flying and will likely continue to fly my reliable Fleet T5u Assault Cruiser Refit because of the Sovereign class look regardless if they still haven't gotten around to upgrading it to a T6 ship. It is just beautiful, and when I want some escort fun I turn always to my Fleet T6 Heavy Escort Carrier (Akira hull skin) even if carrier pets aren't all that reliable.
Problem is.. I love too many ships (and don't care much about their performance/faults, because they are all powerful enough to handle any content anyway) - which is also the reason why I have so many alts, because everyone just uses one ship exclusively. Still among all of them I have some special favs including (in no particular order) the Mogai/Morrigu, B'rel/Kor, Vor'cha, Defiant/Valiant, Prometheus/Hestia, JHAS/JHSS, JHDC, Galor, Steamrunner, Vesta, Akira/Alita and of course.. the Excelsior/Resolute.

I generally don't buy a ship unless it has stats I want. So I guess I might fall into the No category. I've been lucky enough to also like the looks of the ships my caps use so far.
It might be more accurate to say that I love a console which in turn affects my ship choice. Arbiters and Valiants might not draw too many raised eyebrows or derisive smirks, but I consistently equip them with a) T5 skins and b) a cloaking device. Just feels right, even if my DPS takes a hit for it.
No ship is perfect. Some ships I just get for the console (Kobali). And others I still love, though I'd like a small change to them, like the Mobius: I wish it would have a Lt. Engi station, so I can slot EPtS1/EPtW2, without having to use the Lt. Universal. I still keep flying that ship, though as I just love it!.
Some ships I straight-our can't fly, like the Xindi Ateleth (I even dry-docked it). And the Andorian ships: they all suffer from massive station-layout fail. Can't really make those work, either. Probably all me, but there it is.
the excelsior will not die out for as long as the ship class continues to provide a serious threat in combat.
if only i could get access to fleet stuff without the strings attached, i would be outputting solid dps numbers on a regular basis, elite fleet warp core dedicated to shields and then weapons while taking power from engines and then the locator consoles.
with all that, the excel would be a terrifying sight to enemies and a true wonder once again to starfleet engineering.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Yeah I fly a resolute (in Lakota/Enterprise-B skin) which is in all honestly probably the worst T6 cruiser in the game. It's the only T6 cruiser, to my knowledge, without a universal boff slot. I still use it all the time tho because it's a beautiful looking ship with good handling characteristics.
There mainly 3 ships I can think of that I love, despite obvious flaws.
1. The Miranda Light Cruiser. To find that my favorite Star Trek vessel of all time was the first thing we got in the game was amazing. So sad was my realization later that there was no retrofit. Total injustice, but I still love that ship.
2. K't'inga battlecruiser. Simply stunning ship. Too bad its borked beyond repair. I will fly her again when a T6 remodel comes around. I'm not kidding, its the most broken ship in STO (and I'm not referring to it being OP!).
3. Geneva Command Battlecruiser. Lack of weapon cruiser command still rubs me the wrong way, but the versatility and amount of team support this thing has makes up for that.
I do have to amend my previous statement. Yes I love my Risian Corvette, and I use it almost exclusively. However sometimes I need the big guns my Fleet Galaxy Dreadnought provides.
Yes. I do see them as extension to the character; an iconic part of it and usually do not change after choosing the "final" ship for a character.
As a positive side effect I save a lot of money since most store development goes into new ships; something I really do not care much for (although I do like to look at the pictures of fancy new ship releases ).
Should c-store development at one point switch towards ship interior customization (and I start playing more regularly again) it will very probably get expensive for me (that is if it feels like they where dedicated to make it fun and not a quick buck).
A little harsh do you not think. The thread is about the ships you love to fly, for all their flaws. Admittedly many posts are simply saying they love the T6 Okey-kockey 2000, but hey if they love them.
I am about to get my T6 Kremin but it will be a cold day in hell when I choose that over my Galaxy X . Oh did I mention that I love her!
Depends on the ship; some ships just cannot be made survivable enough (T5U especially). But one of the attractions is to embrace how different ships can be configured, and used differently in the same situations. I still have a number of ships to fly for the first time, so it will be some time before I settle on a favorite; I think each character's race will result in a different favorite for that specific captain.

When I'm done leveling my Jupiter, I'm going back to my Steamrunner. I love that ship
This is what I meant in my previous post(s)!
Why? Was something wrong with the Jupiter?
I shall elaborate:
The Jupiter is a serviceable ship. However her best tactic is:
1:launch fighters
2: gravity well
3: broadside until dead
4: repeat
Effective, but boring.
With my Steamruuner cannon ship I enjoy chasing down the enemy to keep them in my forward arc. Sure, even with my Mk XIV MACO shields she still blows up like a Miranda in a DS9 fleet battle. But she turns on a dime and is just more fun to fly.
I love my T6 Endeavour despite it's poor turn rate
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Still gonna fly my flagship.
