From the Connie's place as a starter ship to the Galaxy's...almost everything but the model (based off what Galaxy fans seem to think) there is almost no ship that is "perfect"

My brother, before I made the jump to Dominion ships my Vorta flew an Advanced Escort and truth be told I got rid of her but I still miss the heck out of the old girl.
It's just a damn fun ship to fly.
Truth be told I'm not a stickler for maximizing my effectiveness so all my ship choices are based on what I like and not what's "good", but the MVAE is just the one that sticks out as the most iconic ship to my roster of characters. The only one who's as stubborn as him is my Orion character, who won't leave her T5-U Fleet Corsair for anything short of a new Orion FDC. That is to say, short of her ship being rendered utterly obsolete, she'll never leave it since we're unlikely to ever get new KDF-allied alien ships, sadly.

My favorite ship is still the Presidio even though I have other ships that perform better. Lack of Weapon Systems Efficency and the silly hangar bay aside, it's still my favorite ship.
In order of love -
Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer
Narcine Dreadnought Carrier
Eclipse Intelligence Cruiser (I'll get the fleet upgrade someday!)
Tholian Tarantula Dreadnought
Paradox Science Dreadnought
The only ships that could ever even hope to beat the love I have for my Galaxy is either an end-game Constitution Class, or even better - an end game NX Class, my favorite Star Trek ship of all time. But even then, it's questionable - TNG was my first Trek and the Galaxy was "my" ship.
Now of course I'm flying the T-6 Odyssey Yorktown saucer/Sojourner Hull variant.

Meanwhile, my KDF Sci is still (!) in a Korath - because it's a great looking ship.
The thing is, you run something that's supposed to be big and top-of-the-line - like, say, the new Flagships - and IMO you really ought to be pulling serious numbers. And have everything maxed. On the other hand, with older and/or smaller ships, you've got more flex. I mean, my Delta Recruit's D7 is a case in point - sure it's not the best performer, but it's a TOS era design - what do you expect?
But every time I log in, I go "that's a cool ship..." which is how it should be. Never felt that way with the pilot escorts or command cruisers.
Galaxy Dread, most didn't like it due to turning speed. I didn't mind it, and now I'm working on a capt just to fly it. He is almost Lv30.
D'Deridex, this ship many hated since it had very low turning speed. Since then I use the ship soon as I could get it at T5. And its my favorite of the Romulan ships. Once I got used to the Tac captain and flying it. Now it just destroys my targets. Since DR came out, I added a few things to it. And now the turning isn't a factor anymore, just made it more deadly. That is one ship you won't get my Romulan out of.

I'm not into power creep but enjoy diversity in specs, ship classes, and different abilities that can be combined creatively with each other or with team mates. So far they've managed to fill in the gaps in specs even if only by a hairline, but it has become really saturated now and hope the gameplay expands to new maps and better scaled difficulty and not T7 with more of the same.
One example has been the T5 Odyssey that despite being outclassed by the Guardian, and of course the specialty battlecruisers like Presidio and Eclipse, has still remained a favorite to fly, so much that I had to grab the T6s thanks to the artists who did an awesome job at all of them in every bit of detail, and the fun new consoles that will no doubt work well and give it more gameplay strategy options beyond chevron separation.
Only one I may never get along with is the pilot warbirds, not so much because of their shapes which having been drawn from the Scimitar was enough to consider getting them in the first place, but because their textures are so random. I never manage to kitbash something interesting so end up sticking with the Okhala all the time.
Who needs to turn when the enemies come to you?
My character Tsin'xing
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
I remember when it first came out the opinion was it was TRIBBLE and everyone hated it, now it's probably the best science ship in the game (excluding the Annorax) and can be absolutely deadly when build & flown right.
She's ugly as hell but has a mean sting!

Heh, no, she can be made quite a looker, although the Vesta/Aventine beats either for sci for the multiple aux-based cannons, where you can actually lower your weapons to around 50 or so to _max_ out aux at 135 (with the ancient warp core's bonus in play.) Brutal, brutal space magic. Can pretty much drop a tactical cube's shields as fast as they can drop yours.
I did something similar. Pure white 6 material, only with black and gold trim. U.S.S. Jolly Rogers themed after the high visibility livery of the 80s era US carrier-based Tomcat squadron. If I could put the Vesta's stats on the Scryer, and keep the cloak, it'd be my permanent fed ship.
