Do you love a ship, faults and all?

From the Connie's place as a starter ship to the Galaxy's...almost everything but the model (based off what Galaxy fans seem to think) there is almost no ship that is "perfect"

Nothing will pry my main from his Hestia except a new Prometheus variant. Before the Hestia-class USS V'nashir(-B), he commanded a Fleet MVAE, a C-Store MVAE before that, and a freebie Advanced Escort before that. (I considered the Fleet version a refit so didn't advance the lettering)

My brother, before I made the jump to Dominion ships my Vorta flew an Advanced Escort and truth be told I got rid of her but I still miss the heck out of the old girl.

It's just a damn fun ship to fly.

Truth be told I'm not a stickler for maximizing my effectiveness so all my ship choices are based on what I like and not what's "good", but the MVAE is just the one that sticks out as the most iconic ship to my roster of characters. The only one who's as stubborn as him is my Orion character, who won't leave her T5-U Fleet Corsair for anything short of a new Orion FDC. That is to say, short of her ship being rendered utterly obsolete, she'll never leave it since we're unlikely to ever get new KDF-allied alien ships, sadly.

    Yes.

My favorite ship is still the Presidio even though I have other ships that perform better. Lack of Weapon Systems Efficency and the silly hangar bay aside, it's still my favorite ship.

I have five captains each with a personal favorite ship. While those ships are fairly good, none of them are scimitars, so I must love them for what they are over what I could be flying :). I'm still trying to tune them to be the best they can, but I'm only changing to other ships to unlock certain ship skills I want. Each captain has their 'true' ship they'll always go back to.

Absolutely. I was recently gifted the T6 Valiant just a few days before the Sao Paulo was given away for free. I'd been saving for the Yamato Class but took the risk on the Defiant T5 refit for the three-piece. I know it's never been the flavour of the month, and it's been derided on these forums, but it's just so much bloody fun to fly! I'll never be top of the DPS league, but it beats lazily drifting around in circles boredly pressing the spacebar waiting for the FAW skills to recharge.

    Galaxy Class FTW!!! :D
The only ships that could ever even hope to beat the love I have for my Galaxy is either an end-game Constitution Class, or even better - an end game NX Class, my favorite Star Trek ship of all time. But even then, it's questionable - TNG was my first Trek and the Galaxy was "my" ship.

The Mogai in all its versions and all its glory. Bought it right after LoR came out. Heard too many ugly things about the D'deridex and none of the other Rom ships available at the time looked 'Rihannsu' enough. Except for the T'varo. It was love at first flight.

Prometheus, Hestia, Sovereign, Akira, NX, Jem'hadar Strike Ship, and Odyssey are my all time faves, I do like some of the romulan and klingon designs, but not to the level that I would use them even if they were terrible, which is what I would do with these ships.

The Vesta for me. If it had one more forward weapon slot it would be perfect but it's still a great ship to fly for me. I was worried for my Ferengi because the t5 ferengi ship was very expensive but lo and behold I had a Risian corvette that I made a silver and golden color "The Miser's Fortune" is surprisingly versatile ship and with a canon/torp build she has turned into one deadly ship. I still love the scimitar despite the turn rate but there are ways around it. From the look to the sheer power it has, the scimitar is one hell of an impressive ship. Well that's my opinion at least.

I've flown the Odyssey since getting it back in February of 2013. Despite all the other ships that came out (Avenger, Guardian, Arbitor) I stuck with the Odyssey.

Now of course I'm flying the T-6 Odyssey Yorktown saucer/Sojourner Hull variant.

I've pretty much gone to having a favoured ship on all of my alts. My original Fed had an Armitage from when it was first released, took a long holiday during DR and now has an Alita. My Klinks are in the Fleet K't'inga, T6 Negh'var and B'rel, because aesthetically they're streets ahead of Cryptic's own designs.

Meanwhile, my KDF Sci is still (!) in a Korath - because it's a great looking ship.

The thing is, you run something that's supposed to be big and top-of-the-line - like, say, the new Flagships - and IMO you really ought to be pulling serious numbers. And have everything maxed. On the other hand, with older and/or smaller ships, you've got more flex. I mean, my Delta Recruit's D7 is a case in point - sure it's not the best performer, but it's a TOS era design - what do you expect? :)

But every time I log in, I go "that's a cool ship..." which is how it should be. Never felt that way with the pilot escorts or command cruisers.

Yes I do, so due to that its hard to get me out of those ships.

Galaxy Dread, most didn't like it due to turning speed. I didn't mind it, and now I'm working on a capt just to fly it. He is almost Lv30.

D'Deridex, this ship many hated since it had very low turning speed. Since then I use the ship soon as I could get it at T5. And its my favorite of the Romulan ships. Once I got used to the Tac captain and flying it. Now it just destroys my targets. Since DR came out, I added a few things to it. And now the turning isn't a factor anymore, just made it more deadly. That is one ship you won't get my Romulan out of.

Every ship has it's +/-, some more in one side than others. The real challenge is taking something that isn't popular and making the ship effective.

Some ships may be underpowered, and on alts the difference is very noticeable on top of the current game balance conspiring against them (nerfed/broken pets, cannons) but I still use them and then at the very least advanced STFs can be more of a challenge without having artificial timers and DPS counters.

I'm not into power creep but enjoy diversity in specs, ship classes, and different abilities that can be combined creatively with each other or with team mates. So far they've managed to fill in the gaps in specs even if only by a hairline, but it has become really saturated now and hope the gameplay expands to new maps and better scaled difficulty and not T7 with more of the same.

One example has been the T5 Odyssey that despite being outclassed by the Guardian, and of course the specialty battlecruisers like Presidio and Eclipse, has still remained a favorite to fly, so much that I had to grab the T6s thanks to the artists who did an awesome job at all of them in every bit of detail, and the fun new consoles that will no doubt work well and give it more gameplay strategy options beyond chevron separation.

Only one I may never get along with is the pilot warbirds, not so much because of their shapes which having been drawn from the Scimitar was enough to consider getting them in the first place, but because their textures are so random. I never manage to kitbash something interesting so end up sticking with the Okhala all the time.

My main wants to be in an iconic-looking Starfleet ship at all times - saucer section, connecting neck(s), secondary hull, and two warp nacelles. I kitted him out with a T6 Nandi because there's some stuff the old T5 Odyssey just can't handle - but when I get the cash together and free from creditors and basic necessities, I'm transferring his flag from the Odyssey-class USS Hans Asperger to the Yorktown-class USS Lorna Wing.

Yeah, One of my characters exclusively flies heavy cruisers. She used to fly the freebie Star Cruiser, then got the Prototype Oddy, Gal-X, Kobali ship, etc.... I think her current is the T-6 Gal-X.

      I love my Fleet Scryer.

I remember when it first came out the opinion was it was TRIBBLE and everyone hated it, now it's probably the best science ship in the game (excluding the Annorax) and can be absolutely deadly when build & flown right.

I disagree, when you dump the intel skin and use pure white type 6/7 with brightly colored decals she is quite lovely! I used red and black decals and tossed on the Iconian set on top of a pure white skin and named her U.S.S. Roxxie.

Jonsills, there is nothing the T5 Odyssey or T5-U can not handle trust me on that. Granted stats are slightly better on T5-U and T-6 but I've flown my T-5 for years and it rocked in every situation.

Heh, no, she can be made quite a looker, although the Vesta/Aventine beats either for sci for the multiple aux-based cannons, where you can actually lower your weapons to around 50 or so to _max_ out aux at 135 (with the ancient warp core's bonus in play.) Brutal, brutal space magic. Can pretty much drop a tactical cube's shields as fast as they can drop yours. :)

I did something similar. Pure white 6 material, only with black and gold trim. U.S.S. Jolly Rogers themed after the high visibility livery of the 80s era US carrier-based Tomcat squadron. If I could put the Vesta's stats on the Scryer, and keep the cloak, it'd be my permanent fed ship.
