Time penalty by DS9 loading screen???
char: Affects all characters. Map: Occurs now really at every transfer from DS9 orbit to DS9 ground since last Maintenance. time: Transfer time is not measurable. This doesn't happen at a certain time. (CET)
These're now stoppage screens (non-loading screens).

One question I have to this problem. Is there an official way to expand this memory limit of the game client from 1.5/2GB to 4GB?
There's a flag that you can set on the executable to enable it to use 4 GB. Some runtimes use the high bit of an address internally, which is why Windows doesn't just assume that it's safe.
Alternatively, they can compile the client as a 64 bit app. That means doubling the size of every pointer, and bigger code is often slower code.
Whenever I've noticed longish loading times, my hard disk's started thrashing. (That might be something to look into.)
I get crashes on loading screens consistently ever since the Crimson driver came out; I have rolled the driver back, disabled just about everything, yet I still get DC'ed on loading screens. Changed in-game settings; changed out-of-game settings; tried using Arc client instead of Steam; tried all sorts of tips and tricks (I'm not a computer newb, either, some of these tips were quite technical), and STILL I get DC'ed.
A big clue as to what the problem seems to be, however, is when I open my Library in Steam, right-click on the game, choose "Properties," then "Local Files," then "Verify Integrity of Game Cache." Whenever I do this the result I get is, "2 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." When I then start STO the launcher apparently gets those 2 files and THEN starts the game... but I still get those crashes nonetheless. It's VERY FRUSTRATING.
The problem appears to be with coding, and since STO is the only game which gives me problems since I updated the Crimson driver I would say the solution is evident. I would offer to come fix this problem myself, but then I'd only be plugging one hole while a million others open up, QED.

Fleet Starbase (from Fleet Research Lab)
0943 GMT (Map transfer failed & i was booted at 0944 GMT)
This has been a long time problem with getting into Fleet Starbase, happens on all characters randomly .. i can transwarp & arrive outside Starbase fine, its the transfer to interior from orbit or directly from Spire/Mine/RDL/Embassy when long map loading or failed transfer occurs.
Sol System, attempting to switch from small craft to starship

UPDATE: Closed client, closed UPlay (no idea if this affected things), then restarted. Things seemed okay, and I went into ESD to try and switch ships at the ship selector NPC. I was unable to activate any starship, so I think the slow/stuck mayo change was another symptom of that particular bug, as after applying the "retrieve ship from C-store" fix to the starship selection bug, map loads have continued to work normally. Going to leave this up regardless.

Through countless other dealings with your tech support team due to these same connectivity issues, I was under the impression that the @accountname was the driving force behind your techs troubleshooting.
Couldn't you just educate the player (who like the rest of us is already a little ticked off because a product they pay for is not working properly) as opposed to treating them like a child? We are your customers. The fact that we are here dealing with this rather than in game enjoying our hard earned entertainment dollars alone should dictate at least decency on the part of a representative of a company with an only partially capable product. A product that we paid for with complete dollars.

Requires a relog in safe so I can set the display settings so they work then I can log back into the game, most likely I'll restart my pc as well, this happens often on all of my characters.
