We all know the devs plan the Summer stuff at least 6 months ahead and will do the same with WW2016 so what if we give them some ideas for new features we'd like to see?
It is a fun event, so nothing is off-limits
Someone in chat suggested a space event and I think I've an idea how that could work...
Christmas Catastrophe! Identical to Crystalline event but with a giant pine tree in space, dropping pine needles instead of shards and with the Breen instead of Tholians. It could be this event which earns us the new ship for next year with the ground PvE race for unlocking an account-wide costume pack option (Breen outfits seen on the Breen NPCs in WW for example). I'd do both.
Ice fishing! If you've played Fable, then you know fishing can be funny and you can have some random tat come out from time to time. I figure this could be a way of earning baubles/decorations in similar fashion to how digging for snowballs used to reward them. Of course, drop rate should be lowish but with the chance to score something nice (boots for example, giving a costume unlock if you collect enough boots). Maybe Q can give you some "dropboxes" (like 10) and you have to fish for the keys to open them (similar to the 2 boxes/keys you get from the Ferengi on Q'onos/ESD). They give 1 lobi (so 10 for the whole event isn't going to break the bank) and some random winter-themed items.
New Accolades! I like killing snowmen. I would like to have my diligence rewarded/acknowledged. Something like "Don't like snowmen?", "Really, how can you not like snowmen?" and "Seriously? What is your issue with snowmen?" for 100, 500 and 1000. Let's face it, we'll all hit 1000 easily enough, but hey.
I'd also suggest an alteration for Winter Invasion. I've seen runs without a single Gingerbread colonist anywhere, but the candy piles are always in the same place. I'm a glutton for punishment and keep running the mission even with all the recipes finished. I'd like to suggest the colonists spawn for every mission, in the same places as they do now to cut down on the number of runs needed. Also, a better optional for killing the yeti first, as so many just rush through to kill the baron (and he's a pushover so the gingerbread security guys that spawn can kill him) and the yeti is still standing. Killing the baron makes any recipe/candy still left uncollectable, so no going back to get them if you missed them following the speed-runners.
Any more ideas or thoughts on the ones above?

Going for a more realistic (sic) idea
Assault on Chilly Nor
Basically a comedy rehash of Assault on Terok Nor, with the Mirror universe gingerbreads having taken over the snowpeoples space station (they moved there following Cones), your team having to deal crumbly death and gumdrop pain to the Mirror gingerbreads (the 'lock' subgame replaced a 'recharge ice-p-s conduit' task (kill enemy, fill conduits with ice and syrup to 100% and the 'defend specialist' task can go to a warm place)
Then the big battle verus GingerLeeta - you have to activate the three warm milk showers (no jokes you dirty lot) to remove GingerLeetas cookie armor ("..I have the power of the Cookie-Wraiths!" )and render her open to attack whilst fending off the Mirror gingerbread troops before eating the orb of cookie dough to expel the mirror gingerbreads back to Mirror Qmas

It's not X-Mas, it's a non-denominational winter holiday. Hence, no lights, no christmas trees, etc.
Agreed, but could I have the day-night cycle??? pls????

Hmm could be pie-wraiths as GingerLeeta could use pie custard or frosting as her AOE attack... and thrown pies as her 'fireball' move

I wouldn't mind Khan-uka candles if we could have Christmas trees

Hey Taco -
I totally understand keeping it religion or culture free, but sometimes you miss the opportunity they offer.
Gingerbread is tied to the Christian Easter and Christmas holidays going as far back as the 15th century. Houses were popularized in the 1800's after Hansel and Gretel was published in 1812. By the 1900's they are synonymous with Christian Christmas Events. Secular building materials my tush...
Without pulling a dozen winter/solstice/renewal festivals from as many cultures (who knew the Persians had three winter events - omg!), why not add a night cycle with twinkling lights? I promise NOT to call you out on the Hindu Festival of Lights, Yalda, Hannukkah, Malhka, Saturnalia (although this would be an awesome influence) or the BS ones - Festivus, Hogswatch, Decemberween, and the Feast of Alvis.
Maybe add the Klingon Festival of Lights? The day of drinking and rejoicing while watching a HURK Dreadnought break up in the lower atmosphere over the Imperial City at night? The colors of their corpses burning up on reentry...
The Andorran Fire Wyrm Festival - where people decorate the entrances to their ice caves with strings of bio-luminescent (dead) fire worms to ward off evil spirits?
I'm sure we could come up with an excuse for lights. Hell, you found an excuse to make the buildings 'Frozen'

Apparently the Breen home world is temperate, according to the Vorta.
Also, for the character artists: Those cropped winter jackets, it'd be lovely to have some undershirt options to wear with them. Preferably ones where we can customize the colors, rather than tying them to the jacket color.
Also, some long scarfs.
If you guys want to see a real Christmas tree, lights and a great decorated personal vehicle decorated with Xmas lights go to SWTOR. They might call it "Life day" but at least more festive event
Don't you just get tired of the the crappy politically correctness (PC). Seems so far old fashioned to be PC as now more people just want to tell it like it is. Then again, beyond devs paygrade to dwell in those issues
I like this idea. I'd even participate in it.
Do TWO versions of Fast and the Flurrious concurrently. One that involves running (*cough* green glow bunny hopping *harrumph!*) as usual ... and one that involves Ice Skating! Simply run the two contests at the same time on different tracks in different parts of the Wonderland, so you have a "pick one" situation whenever racing time comes around.
Heck, given the heights that you can get to with the jumps while ice skating(!), it would make a lot of sense for the ice skating track to be one where you go UPHILL rather than downhill like the current running track. So instead of "leaping over the cliff" of the (frozen) waterfall like we have currently, instead you approach the (frozen) waterfall from downstream and race your way up to the top. You then get back to the chalet using a long downhill "speed" straightaway. Bonus points for making the "off ramp" more of a ski-jump to get you "back to the lodge" at the Q Chalet.
The other possibility would be to repurpose/port the Voth Ground Battlezone over into being the Winter Wonderland Battlezone. Replace the Voth+Swarmers with Snorg spawns and ice the place over. You aren't trying to capture Omega Silos, you're going after Confection Silos.

Go cry about it on Reddit.
I understand, but christmas trees are now everywhere (Korea, Japan, India, Africa, etc), they are just a symbol of the winter holidays. they have lost for a lot of people around the world their christian symbolism.
Btw, before I played at STO, gingerbreads were unknow for me (I'm from france)
the first christmas trees come
