Can't say I like Breen ships at all. I've never liked slippery ice stages in games and couldn't get the hang of the ice race my first year playing STO so I didn't bother with whatever ship was given out. And then I left the game for a year because I felt there was nothing left to do so I missed the next one. I dunno if I'll bother to grind out something so ugly I'd never fly it, playing an event that I can't stand.
Then again, I did grind out that Ferengi Nandi and I don't like that design either. But flying annoys me less than sliding on ice. I forsee thrown mice if I lose too many races.
I like the look, and I'll probably like the stats too.
However I can never actually win the race that gets me the tokens or whatever that allows me to get the ship. I've never been able to get a Breen ship in all the years I play.
That is my same problem. Oh well, I will just save some more money for next time there is a ship sale. Thank you for the ship that I cant never get. At least when we had the Q event was an event that I was able to do. But never have been able to do the winter races. How come devs you can't figure out another way, for us who canT do the race, to earn tokens?
Can never get? The race is rather easy...
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Not only the race is easy, the Winter Prize Vouchers are normally also avaiable in Lobi store, so if someone really can't do the race, then it's still possible to get the ship.
And - not to be rude, but - to fail the races to the point that you fail to get the ship - ouch.... that takes some serious trying.
Please add the old Rezreth model as alternative skin. I like the other Breen ships but this one looks like the other 3 Breen ships got in a horrible accident.

Also, it is the same event for the fourth year in a row. It could use an update. One of the new events could replace it (or at least give us the vouchers needed for thos wanting the ship). Or how about a sledge race?

Or bad luck with lag. There were quite a few times where I had to time when to do the race to where no event was coinciding with it, as otherwise I ended up rubberbanding outside the track. Someone with less patience I could see giving up after a few days of trying, particularly given it implies that you can't re-do the race (which you can immediately if you fail by talking to the coordinator on the gazebo).
To buy with Lobi is very expensive, as you can get a regular Lobi T5 ships for not much more if you have want to buy outright. It's really intended to fill the last bit of the project if you missed a few days of grinding.

Exactly the problem, I am on the East coast so it is always laggy and also not been a young whippersnapper it is hard for old man to get those curves at the right speed, I always keep getting off the track and loosing at the end, the devs should create other ways of making tokens for those of us who cannot accomplish the race.

I still Say having a different event each year offer the tokens is better than the race every year. Or even break the amount awarded among all the events to that you can do them all if you want ot take a couple extra days to get them, do like a daily bonus (how marks get one) every 20 hours for the first even you get tokens awarded for. This way I could get 40 tokens by doing one thing...OR I can spend even more time in game every day and get say 45 or 50 tokens and do everything in there.
Would only cut a few days off the grind and make it more palatable as offering variety and choice.
Awww... I was betting on something sciency for my KDF sci.
Isn't this sciencey-ish? No stats yet but the trait does have a distinctly blue-hue to it.
Both the Dreadnought Cruiser classification and the Rezreth [T6] Admiralty Ship indicate a heavy Engineering focus. That doesn't mean we can't port the console and Starship Trait over to a Sarr Theln (unless your didn't get it last year, didn't slot the project to take advantage of the "last chance" before it's gone forever, started playing after the last Winter Event was over or were away from STO at the time... etc.). Admittedly, the Sarr Theln is a Science Carrier rather than a proper Science Vessel, but for KDF/Rom characters it's about the strongest "off-Sci" you can obtain at T6 and it does have access to Intel/OSS.
[EDIT] As a suggestion for next year's Summer Event, though: Can we please get a third Risian ship? In this instance, a vessel designed to research interaction between normal space, subspace, underspace, and various phase states, as well as their effect on the behavior of transient spacial anomolies and overall stellar drift patterns (space weather ). A yellow submarine Science Vessel with a console to let it "dive" between these different layers of space and quantum states would fit the theme, though it would only be fun if you could run silent, run deep until you chose to disengage the console and "surface". Maybe "surfacing" could cause U to do 571 base Exotic Damage to nearby ships, say within 20,000 leagues? Come on, there are sooo many good/bad submarine jokes you could layer into that dev blog; it wouldn't need to be the sixth Federation Science Vessel released while the KDF/Roms are left waiting (Blue Submarine No. 6), or given to the KDF a couple weeks before Halloween as their long sought-after good endgame Science Vessel (The Hunt for Red October). Just imagine the potential!
Starship Trait
Upon reaching level 5 in the Breen Rezreth Dreadnought Cruiser’s starship mastery, you will unlock the Enhanced Power Condensers Starship Trait. While this trait is slotted, using Power Siphon or Tachyon Beam will provide you with a boost to maximum power levels and provide a boost to maximum shield hit points for a short time.
Does "Power Siphon" refer to the Energy Siphon boff ability, the Breen 3-piece Space equipment set, Power Siphon Drones, or all abilities that siphon power from your enemy to yourself?
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Here's why you might want to break down and run the d**n race, even if you don't have any of the other Breen ships and don't currently intend to fly it...
1. Since they changed the way the event rewards work, you have one and only one chance to obtain this reward during this year's event.
2. You only need to run it on one character. You will then be able to reclaim it in the future should you ever want it. Never say never.
3. It's pretty much guaranteed to have an Admiralty card... the more you have the better, and this one should have some healthy stats.
4. The starship trait (once obtained) can be used while flying any ship, not just a Breen ship. Might be a good trait if you like flying Science ships and/or carriers.
5. The race can be a pain in the butt, granted. Learning how to run it can be painful at first. However once you have the hang of the race, it's like riding a bicycle and comes back pretty quickly the next year. If I can do it, almost anybody can do it and it's good training for the competitive race which may (eventually) earn you extra reputation marks. Many people can give you good tips on running it.
I don't particularly want it, not likely to fly it, but I'm going to get it anyway.
Guess I know what I'll be doing on my lunch breaks at work.....would be nice if the tokens were BTA instead of BTC so that I could run it multiple times but then they'd have to increase the number to turn in.
Hmm...new model...is there something wrong with the old models of the Rezreth and Sarr Theln? Because I personally kinda like their old models better than the new player models.
Not to say the new ones are bad, (Though the Sarr Theln should be bigger!) I just like the old ones better and wish they were a option.
I mean we didn't get a new model of the Chel Grett or Plesh Brek.
I agree about this one, I know it's too late now, but how about it? A new event for vouchers next year?
Though I am wary of changing something simple that they could replace with something even more monotonous.

I live on the East Coast too, and I don't have problems with lag normally.
I rarely lose the race, but even when you do, if you fail enough it just deletes the other racer and you can walk the thing and get your vouchers for the day. Heck for the first couple of years I didn't even have an opponent, I thought it was a single player event.

Breen ships are always odd looking and it fits in well with the style of the other ships we've already got.
And that console sounds like fun, assuming it's not just naff like a lot of special consoles are.
Realy ugly (in the good way) ship, she looks like any sea creature. A lot of spikes. For some KDF or Nero type perverts she will be good
But as someone already said, old model is better. The new model would not be bad if he did not have that front claws.
An interesting ship; and yes, it is a shame the old models aren't available as alternate 'costumes'. Or that the visual unlocks from various rep projects don't 'live' in the ship tailor instead of being attached to gear.

Which change I think ridiculous, but that's a debate for another thread. Moving on...

Again. And remember that yes, the pen can be mightier than the sword. Especially if Q made it.

Good reasons both. I imagine the console would be even nastier on a science vessel with a deteriorating SD...

Switching to shooter mode (B is the default key for toggling this) should help, as does using jumps and rolls to kill momentum. I would also suggest taking the time to make some runs of the course (without picking up the mission) to familiarize yourself with it.

She looks good to me. The most aggressive beastly Breen ship there is. I imagine to a Breen she's beautiful and streamlined like a new Lamborghini.
