OP: no. it's not just CBS, its all of the networks even cable tv shows. paying for CBS all access just to watch one show breaks their rules about wanting to watch one show that's in a package deal. Lots of TRIBBLE to watch just one show.

And it's a huge strategic win for Netflix for two reasons:
1. CBS will sink time and resources into "Star Trek," allowing Netflix to go pursue new, original show that CBS is passing on.
2. CBS is going to be a streaming service, lowering itself to the same level as Netflix, wiping out one of its big advantages as a channel fed straight into your home on a cable box.

I already pay for internet and TV services. So why I should pay for a show?
Way I see it. My paycheck is getting smaller and smaller each year. As they keep taking more out of it. Prices of stuff keeps rocketing to the sky. My raises are not even coming close to match the increase %.
They want to get rich off a show When it should be on TV for everyone to enjoy. Instead have you pay for the show. Here is what I say about it. "Redacted" The Rock quote.

Yes. The $5.99 is for the service, not the series. Already pay for Hulu and Amazon Prime, and adding CBS All Access will raise my total outlay to far less than cable service in my area. With enough of these, I can drop all but the cable data service.
CBS all access isn't bad, but generally you can watch the episodes free a week later. That is how it works with the several other CBS shows I watch. I'm sure you'll be able to buy the season on Amazon or Google Play too.
I hope so...that's what I am most likely going to do if the option presents itself.
I refuse to pay the cable company for a DVR but I'm also awful at catching shows when they're on TV. I don't watch THAT much TV--when I actually do, it's typically either news or sports, so live stuff only (I'm probably about to try to negotiate my cable bill down for that reason). Paying Amazon for the ONE show so I can catch it as soon as I get the opportunity/remember to look for a new episode would be acceptable for me. I've already chosen to do business with Amazon, without being forced into it like I think CBS hopes to do with All Access, so I don't mind throwing Amazon another bone.

Let me add: Trek is in the backwoods in Sci-Fi right now. Star Wars had always been a bigger deal globally than Star Trek. Not even a competition. And Star Wars is about ready to storm back into multimedia, mass audience prominence, unless JJ & Disney TRIBBLE the pooch. All while the license holders of Star Trek are looking at limiting the audience for Star Trek. Seriously...
BBT is the only CBS show I watch, and it's not even included in CBS All Access. (Not that I need it to be, since I catch the first-run episodes, but just sayin'...)
I'll watch the first 2 episodes. If it's good enough, I'll just WAIT a few months then run a trial membership if they have one just to watch all the episodes up to that point. Then cancel.
The pilot will be broadcast on t.v. if I like I'll probable pay of access it's cheaper than hulu and cbs has a lot if show I like on their free service.

Only if its a Post Voyager Trek will I pay the sub. Im dying to see the canon state of the universe now that romulus is destroyed. But I wont pay a monthly fee to see iTrek TRIBBLE.

Yeah, I'll be watching it. Considering I stream everything... I don't remember the last time I watched anything on broadcast or cable TV. All my streaming subscriptions combined (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, HBO, Amazon) comes up to barely more than half the cost of the standard cable package in my area... Adding one more for $6USD wouldn't matter much.
CBS seems to be very very slow about getting it's programs up on DirecTVs On Demand. Getting them up on its service first? This may overall not bode well for the future.

After TOS, people who have produced new shows and movies brought into the myth of what the show was more than what TOS actually was. None of it was worthwhile IMO and I don't expect that to change.

So TNG didn't touch upon philosophy or touched upon the human condition? Not sure what you're trying to say, but TNG at the very least had what TOS had in terms of writing.
DS9 was more war-torn, consequences of occupations and what place religion has in the grand scheme of things. (Even though it was kind of negated by their faith being something tangible and not some faith-based system)
VOY touched upon what one would do in the dire circumstances, to damn morals for the sake of survival or deal with the loses to keep those morals intact.
So, again. Not sure what you were going for there.

I don't encourage anyone breaking the law, but if you stream your TV you get no commercials is what we call street justice.
$6 / 160m = $0.0375/m = $2.25/hr for new Trek. Worth it, even if Trek is the only thing you watch on CBS's streaming service.
