"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Cryptic, you misread the post. It is NOT a television show. According to the post, it is exclusive to CBS All Access, which looks like some sort of CBS NetFlix copy. So if you want to watch the show, you need to buy a subscription.
How are you suppose to reclaim the ship on other characters? Is the discount pack always going to remain in the C-Store? If not, reclaiming the ship is going to be impossible.
First off, I guess it's a good 'Ol TRIBBLE You if you have bought this giveaway stuff already. That's reinforcing behaviours...
Second, I won't be paying CBS to watch Star Trek unless it's through watching commercials. I don't have NetFlix or other pay service like that but I do have Amazon Prime - because of the OTHER benefits it provides.
You all know you will have to pay to be able to watch this show yeah?
Anyone know how much CBS charges for this streaming service? I couldn't find it, but I have a screaming child running around too Edit - Never mind I googled it. Six dollars a month heh..... Hmmmmmm
Since CBS is involved with this, any chance of ships, races and stuff from that show making it's way into the game, OR vise versa ? What'da think?

I'm seeing conflicting reports as to whether the subscription gets you first dibs and it re-airs after a delay on the regular network, or if it will NEVER re-air.

If they do a deal of any sort with Prime for this--such as a flat, discounted rate for immediate access to each season--I MIGHT be willing to pay that. We'll see.

I thank Perfect World for the freebies, but the new Star Trek series is a non-starter for me. Just another cheap way to get money out of people. I refuse to pay for a "TV" series by subscribing to CBS All Access. Even though I can afford it, it's the principle of another money grab that bothers me. Make a show that is competent and strong enough to survive on network TV. I shell out enough money to subscription services already. Paying $5.99 per month (or whatever it is) for just one show (since I don't subscribe to it) is ridiculous. Others may be OK with it, but I'm not. To each his or her own.
I agree.
This TV show will most likely have the same budget as ToS. Its a shame, I would have like to have seen it with today's SFX technology.
Not sure if bug, or just how packs that include ships and non-ships work, but you can't reclaim the ship from it's page on the store. After you claim the pack, then dismiss the ship, if you check the ship in the store it still wants 500zen for it. It does seem that you can reclaim the whole pack and get the ship again that way though.

Augh.
Guess who just bought the ENT uniforms (not the bundle) this past weekend, for a Halloween costume...
Ah well. Just how the dice fall, I suppose.
So I friend of mine already bought the Mirror Universe Enterprise costume set and now the C-Store won't let her get the free pack, however I already had the normal Enterprise Era costume set and was able to get the set fine. Any idea what the issue is here?

Sorry, False Alarm, turns out it was just that she didn't notice her ship roster was full and /that/ was why she couldn't get the set.
TRIBBLE SWEET hopefully this'll tide me over if they TRIBBLE FIX THE DAMN PROBLEM SERIOUSLY JUST TRIBBLE FIX IT SERIOUSLY. Think North Korea TRIBBLE it? O_O
bought the NX starship awhile back and now it wont let me claim the whole pack because i already own an item in it. Where do I go about it from here because im rather lost.
CBS can just check STOs storylines and adapt for a TV series. They ain't bad. God knows ENT and VOY had some stinkers from the 'professional' tv writers. Or just buy that Trek Renegades or the other fan made show and run w/ that.

Just discharge the ship and then claim the bundle.

It does seem like it's 6 for the service, and not for each series. So that's actually not bad.
I will probably only watch the first two episodes to determine whether or not to keep interest in it.
Then wait until enough episodes come out before either doing some sort of free-trial or a one month payment just to watch everything at once. I have Amazon Prime, and I hardly use subscription services outside of PS+ and XBLG. I even dropped my basic cable TV since I don't even watch the local news on it (I just use online news feeds).

It won't let you claim the pack if you have the ship CURRENTLY IN YOUR ACTIVE ROSTER (or if your active roster is full).
1. Strip your old NX class ship of all items you wish to keep (if any).
2. Dismiss your old NX class ship.
3. Claim the pack. The new ship will be added to the empty slot in your Active Roster.
4. Rename and re-equip the new NX class ship to match your old one.
5. Enjoy.
