After 18 months of Lifetime subs - I am DONE with STO until they get the thing working as well as when I signed up. New (rehashed) content does no trump missing old content. The reworking of the Dyson Space zone into the Badlands was simply a reskinning and far from being new and interesting is clapped out and unimaginative in the extreme. I hope that when I return to game at Christmas there is SOMETHING worth playing. Defera and Nukara were the primary method of developing my Fleet and the 2000 FM per day I now have to source elsewhere in dumb STFs is challenging my enthusiasm and that of my fleet members. Hello World of Tanks and Goodbye Craptic for November.
After 7 (seven) posts, it's clear you have a complete understanding of the situation and the game as a whole.
1.) Fleet Alert and Defera have technical problems. They dev's have commented as such, as have people on the bug smashers team.
2.) The badlands has a similar format, but the challenges are are completely different from the Dyson Sphere It's clear to me you actually haven't played it. Those of us who have played it - multiple times - can point out techniques if you're to lazy to learn on your own.
3.) Lifetime and subscribers are 2 different things. If you were either, you'd know that.
Every launch has glitches, some small some not so small. Every launch has people that no matter what the result will find something that makes them feel as if that season is a personal attack on their gaming time. When Cryptic does something 'bad' I'll happily point it out. In this case, you are grasping at straws.

youre right, every Launch has ist glitches, but in my playtime of almost 1,5 years, None of this Bugs made Areas and missions unplayable (eccept serverdowns)

This alone clearly shows that this situation is not something done intentionally by the Devs, had this been something they planned it would have happened with the patch.
first how do you know it was not don intentionally? foe all we know this is how they want it to be. also since theis did not happen at the patch launch. they should have at-lease tried a quick server reboot. that most likely would have fixed it. if it is a bug.
Well to be fair, everyone has lives, I think most understand that, however...
Such as this is an MMO that doesn't not turn off at any point, it is a thing that is conducting business 24/7 minus downtimes, being a resident of Casino Land USA, I can tell you since they are 24 hour operations as well, that if the slot machines all stopped working the management wouldn't sit there and say it can wait till Monday. That's the evil of the business that is an MMO, and I think MMO companies really need to reconfigure themselves to operate 24/7 as well.
Can you guys tone down the snark a bit. There seems to be an issue with Defera and Nukara, and we are writing up a report to send to the Dev Team.
We are also looking into whats up with the Fleet 20 Man Queues.
The issues with Fleet alert were sent to the dev team and are already fixed internally for the next Patch.
Thanks for the update, such as it is at this point (given that it's a weekend and all). To help narrow it down, did anyone run Defera on Thurdsay?
If Defera was completable on Thursday, whatever code enabled Hearts and Minds may be the culprit. This could clear itself up by Monday when the devs actually come back to take a look at it, making it tough to address. If this is the case, they might want to watch what it does if/when it triggers again on Nov 13.
Then again, it did specifically purge my Defera Mission list upon login today... and they were active on that character as of logout in the early hours of the same day (Oct 31).
My KDF Orion was on Defera very late Thursday (UST), worked then. I have a fleetmate who regularly runs around on Nukara. I haven't heard him complian, but I'll ask him if he was there Thursday or Friday and if so how things looked.
If it is Hearts and Minds that's doing it, I wondering if we'll have a occurrence when that mission pop up again later this month.
Well, it doesn't look as if it's directly related to Hearts and Minds, or at least it didn't revert to its proper functionality when Hearts and Minds went inactive. Despite its oddities, Defera is still one of my favorite areas of the game, assuming that going dark was an unplanned event. Hopefully they manage to figure out a fix before Thursday's patch, though that might be overly optimistic.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
If Defera was completable on Thursday, whatever code enabled Hearts and Minds may be the culprit.
Interestingly, Defera/Nukara appears to have gone down 20 hours (a common CD timer) after Hearts and Minds was to go active. i.e. I think they went down at 2pm Saturday and HnMs went live 6pm on Friday.

and that is why i think there is a serious decline in the quality of mmos recently. the original mmos like eq1. when they do an upgrade it is all hands on deck for the first 48 hours. (even now still with eq1 when they launch a new update) now most companies like perfect world are not game developers. that are the ones that buy the rights to a game and then try to has it run with the lease number of people. also if this is a bug. I bet because it did not happen when they launched the patch. it is a simple bug that would have been fixed with a simple game restart.

That would be nice. How long have we had problems with Defera? How many years?
That would be nice. Maybe if the rumors are right that they're making it into a PvE, then they'll make it cross-faction.

That's an old wives tale... Everyone knows 2 hands crossing fingers will cancel out the good luck.
