I feel that the 50% cost should be the final permanent cost. All of those non-Fleet ships are all worthless in the current meta beyond those leveling up and grabbing the dil from mission completion.
At first I was like "Who'd buy T1-T5 stock ships, even with a discount?" But then I read "admirality system". Well played

I feel bad for people who will be needing these discounted ships. I mean I have fleet ships with only purpose to them is extra banking space due to the overload of items every time some new rep or lockbox comes out. SO I wouldn't buy them just for the fact that they would reduce my banking system.
I bought my advanced heavy cruiser for 300k EC. Good times

OH yeah. I've used "the brand new Admiralty System" on Tribble. What no one is telling you is...ah nevermind. I'll let you find out yourselves! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My guess is you need to have the ships you use in a ship-slot, so you have go buy a heckuva lot of them to play the Admiralty system. If that's the case then I won't be playing that at all, I have more than enough with the queues and the odd DOFFing.
What is the point in this, Opening a blue quality reward ship is better then any of those ships. All the ships on the list are T5 below and useless, make them free ships then thats a start.

I know right, Been using it too... HAHAHAHA.....HA
OH yeah. I've used "the brand new Admiralty System" on Tribble. What I apparenly missed even though everyone has been saying it since day one is that it's another DOFF system that adds another thing you can log in and do, or not at your discretion. There's nothing wrong with it and a lot of people really love systems like this, so it will probably be great for a lot of players. Some people like me always complain when there's a new system put in the game that I personally don't enjoy, so we post dumb things that don't say anything in overly large fonts to make our personal opinions seem like they are something that the entire game community should be outraged at. You can safely ignore me and try the system yourself and see if you like it without it affecting anyone.
For one week following the release of Season 11, all of the above prices will be further reduced by 50%!
This implies the promotional prices will be an additional 50% off the new prices going forward, not 50% off the previous prices.
Further, from a player viewpoint this feels more like an attempt to get players to burn off stockpiles of dilithium rather than a gesture of good will. Ideally you should be cutting the old dilithium ship prices by 50% across the board and then the promo price would be an additional 40 - 50% off the new price.

Actually, you need to have only own the ship once the Admiralty system is in effect, then you can retire said ship.
However, if you don't already own the ship when the Admiralty system hits, you will not be credited for that ancient bubble sci vessel you may have used while grinding up the ladders so long ago.
However, what they're not telling you is along the lines of what you said; you need to have the port slots available to claim them, check and see that they're registered with the Admiralty system, then dismiss them.
I for one, will not be wasting my Dil on this. Now that I look over the information again, I feel they're still overpriced.
Here's what I would pay:
Lieutenant: 1,000
Lt. Commander: 2,000
Commander: 3,000
Captain: 4,000
Rear Admiral - Lower Half: 5,000
Nothing more. Sure they're cheaper than a Fleet Module and efforts put into a Fleet for Fleet Cred (and the T5U for T5 Fleet ships), but they're still useless in the current meta. If you have multiple alts, you're better off just paying Zen straight for all the T1-T4 C-Store ships and just claiming and dismissing them. At least they come with consoles or weapons.
Now that I think about it, this is mainly to melt the Dil reserves of KDF and Romulan players as they have far fewer ships to utilize in the Admiralty system than the Feds.

Nope, ya just need to put them in your Ships Roster once, then you can dismiss them.
Once they are attached to your Admiralty Doffing List, they stay there.

Yeah, while I think reducing the price is a good move, the fact that all those ships can´t be reclaimed, means I probably have to throw them all away to make room for all the other ships I can claim...and you know the ships I`m actually using.
We are basically buying trading cards here, not ships. At least I feel a little better because I can claim tons of ships, but then again, not everyone is a veteran.
Hey guys! It's been brought to our attention that the Discount prices listed in the Dev Blog are inaccurate. This is entirely my fault for writing the blog in such a rush... I cut the original prices in half, instead of the new reduced ones.
Appreciate the offer, but it will not be something i make use of.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I seem to recall reading that the Admiralty system has a 'maintenance' period for ships after they finish a mission, and that the maintenance period is much shorter for T1 ships compared to T6. So while that T6 Samsar Cruiser brings a lot of Engineering savvy to your Admiralty missions, it might only be able to do a mission every other day or so, while that T1 Miranda can complete 3-4 smaller missions in the same time for a larger payout.
Theoretically.
Anyway, I'm glad they are giving us options. Will I do it? Probably not, but then I'll likely only dabble in the new system myself. No one is forcing me to spend dil on ships.

Definitely a good moment to get the Vo'quvs, Ha'noms and Hegh'tas and whatever has at least some sci on KDF and ROM sides.

Why are the 1 Week 50% Numbers Based off of the Current Prices and not the S11 Discounted Prices.

what?
Gotta love the image with the article. Reminds me that the Sovereign is the poster child for ships that are stuck at T5.
First, as primar13 said, the math is wrong.
"For one week following the release of Season 11, all of the above prices will be further reduced by 50%!"
The 50% discount shown is from the original prices not the reduced new prices.
Second, is there going to be a maintenance on Nov. 3rd? It is a Tuesday.
They can shut things like this down without needing a maintenance window. They do it all the time when they extend events because of outages.
