Sale info Still don't think I am going to buy anything. I need a services sale.
Knew it was coming since i made a purchase earlier this week.
Sales always happen shortly after i make a purchase.
Thank you. I'd have preferred it if you'd waited until after the T6 Defiant/B'Rel/T'Varo cross-faction pack was released, but I appreciate your efforts nonetheless.
Though I have to admit, either having Pilot Maneuvers at T6-11 or having access to those specific ships at T6-10 is going to be a tough decision when it finally comes around. Maybe it's better I didn't have to make that choice just yet...
The timing of this sale is impeccable. I just finished saving up enough Zen to buy the Command bundle during the next sale about a week ago.
All that Zen was burning a hole in my captain's wallet...
Now, I'm one happy player flying my shiny new Presidio!
Thanks Cryptic!
Yup, my purchase was the Command Pack as well. For me, I just wanted to pick up some powercreep-with-a-hull that I'd passed on previously (before they fixed the Inspiration mechanic), and getting just the three AHOD ships was only 2400 Zen cheaper than getting all nine... and I damn well know that the T6 B'Rel is going do die in a heartbeat without Improved Brace For Impact. So, I got all nine for the price of four... on sale. Now I can kitbash away, unlock a few Starship Traits for characters across all three factions, get Kill Accolades for new life and new civilizations... etc.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Why oh why is everything else discounted except the Galaxy Pack? Oversight, bug, something else?
I really want them (just beacause) and I have exactly 3200 Zen atm which would be enough... if they'd be on discount like all the other ships, Intrepids included.
This makes me so sad.
All ships in the C-Store are 20% off excluding the new Hestia Class
The Galaxy Bundle has three (3) ships but only two of them are upgradable, so this bundle will provide two (2) Ship Upgrade Requisitions.
All ship bundles are 20% off with the exception of the following:
Enterprise Era Pack
Federation Starter Pack
The Original Series Pack
Deep Space Nine Pack
Legacy of Romulus Legacy Pack
Legacy of Romulus Starter Pack
Delta Operations Pack
Galaxy bundle not listed in the exceptions, therefore is on sale.
If they included a ship slot with a ship purchase I might consider it more often. Until they start doing that... they can pretty much fold up their ship sale events and... well you know the rest.
Seriously though... if Cryptic wants to keep releasing ships at the pace they have been, and start giving our ships in the garage things to do. Then they need to seriously rethink the ship slot stuff. It is really really stupid that old time players have to pay a 20% premium on ships all the time so we can use them. I have a ton of lockbox and fleet ships I refuse to just throw away so I can slot a new one. The double dip on slots is just greedy enough that I have simply refused to buy ships from them any longer.
Yep, the Hestia is only 16.67% off. They cheaped out and kept the normal 1/6th (500 Zen) off that new ship releases get on the first weekend of release instead of sporting the other 3.33% to have all Ships get 20% off. That one will wait for the Black Friday everything 20% off sale.

Looks like another big run on Command ships. Most people seem to have gone that route for the ship sale, even in game it seems like there are more Command ships out and about then normal, and that's saying something.
I did the same, I already have the Fed 3 pack, but I picked up the Vastam to serve as my Fed-Roms new ship and to unlock AHOD for my KDF Rom. I have to say, I'm quite happy with it, love the look and feel of the Vastam, it's a lot of fun to fly. You can't go wrong with the Command ships, great versatility, good traits on the Tactical and Science version and fleet level right from the start.
Tempted to pick up some Pilot ships as well, I might very well do that before the weekend is up. These days the only ships I'm interested in are T6 ships that are already fleet level.

But I thought Command sucks!?!

Damn, couldn't they waited a month ? I had a nice farming schedule planed for next month to get ZEN.

3 ships on next sale and 0 until then was my motto. Now is the time to buy and I’m going to do that when I get home. Cryptic removed much of the power related lag in space for me so I see it as justified purchase.
For me it’s going to be
- 2 x Command Cruiser for the AHOD trait on Romulan and Kling sides. Nandies and Reclsues should profit a lot in my case.
- Tier 6 Avenger for the Emergency weapons Cycle Fed side on 6 chars. My delta recruit will probably end up flying that ship. I hope I can install the Defiant's cloak.

Well, since I have a lot to catch up in all my toons. I bought the battlecruiser cross-faction pack, simply couldn't go wrong with that one.

Actually a Zen Sale would have probably been a better choice for the Bottom Line, but they just had one and maybe counting on un-discounted sales of Zen and wholesale drains of Dilithium after the buildup during the 'Really Great Super Three-fer Weekend' wouldn't hurt either.

You make it sound like the last month or so long string of doff / R&D pack gold snitch promos have had nothing to do with the fiscal quarter end. I'm sure numbers aren't what they hoped so your likely right a 20% sale always bumps the numbers a bit as well. We should just be thankful they didn't add Kemo books to a pack to ensure a good EOQ push. Something like Kemo will be free to have its corrected "fixed" a day after the Quarter ends... as it has been for 4 years. Expect the next extremely broken "woops how did we not catch that one in testing" bugged/broken item to hit 2 months from now just in time to drive sales for the next quarter. lmao
But this last R&D promo was, I believe, the first time they did not discount the R&D Packs during an R&D Weekend (which coincided with part of the Promo). I guess they figured 'Bug Fever' would outway some people's desire to wait for sales.
That's like one of the items that comes up on the Launcher announcing 'T6 Heavy Escort Carriers now on sale'. They are not 'on sale' (now notwithstanding). But they are now available or now available for purchase or some such nonsense.

About an hour ago I told some person they did a ship sale recently, but did not know when the next one would start. I do not remember the chaps name, so sad. Hopefully he logs back on and see's the launcher news.
I want to get the Odyssey and Vesta bundles but I am cautious that if I buy them now, soon there will be the T6 versions. Does anyone know if the developers will bring these out any time soon?
Anyone have any more information on this? At the moment I am saving up zen and I want to be absolutely sure that the developers will bring out a T6 version of the Odyssey and Vesta class much later or not planning to.
Nothing to indicate that a T6 Vesta or Oddessy is coming anytime soon on sites that go after indications of that stuff. We have at least two months of ship releases rumored on those sites, so you should be OK on purchasing either, particularly discounted with free Upgrade tokens.
I grabbed a Phantom Escort, and Eclipse Cruiser, and one of the Andorian Escorts. Having a blast with the Phantom and the phaser lance, and will be trying out the...I think it was the Kumari(?) later on today.

I think it's a good bet that a T6 Vesta is on the way. Less sure about an Odyssey but I'd be willing to bet on it. Geko did say that a T6 Vesta is planned (i think he also said a T6 Luna is as well) but no idea how far away it is.
Not as good as intel, but hardly sucks. Plus the ships come with good traits and are fleet level out of the box. Pretty easy to see why the Command ships are so popular.
It's a bit disconcerting that many of the comments are "I bought ____ for _______ (fill in mastery trait here).
I don't see why it should bother you. Just look at it this way, those people are putting money into the game and keeping it online so you can continue to enjoy it. I look at it the same way I look at the 'lockbox lottery,' I don't play it, but the fact that others do means the game keeps going for me.
I would be lying if I said that I didn't consider the ship trait before a purchase because I absolutely do. I bought the Vastam for my Romulan Engineer, it's her new main ship, but I would be lying if I said I didn't also buy it to unlock 'All Hands On Deck' for my Rom-Tac who will still fly the Scimitar.
In the end, people spend their money for the things that are valuable to them. I wouldn't let it bother you too much, in the end it ends up benifiting you anyway. That money goes into keeping the game up, paying for servers and bandwidth, staff to fix bugs, Ivory Back scrathers for @pwlaughingtrendy , etc.

Hmm, maybe It was the intent. Some fleets are allmost about to unlock the 5th starship trait, so Cryptic saw an oportunity here. Also the new Admirality system is coming, wich will be tied up to our ships aswell (wish we knew a bit more about it).
Ohh, and I am guilty of that too, since got the T6 battlecruisers pack for the EWC trait. But I also got 2 ships to actually fly: the sci pilot ships for kdf and rom (no fed since no cloak - no deal, and I got the phantom allready for them).

Command Battlecruiser Mega Bundle
T6 Cross Faction Battlecruiser bundle
Phantom Intel escort
Oberth
I saw the resolute Class which looked similar to the my Fleet Assault Cruiser Refit but after some thought, decided against it.
Guess now i will have to wait for another 15% zen charge promo in between grinds.....

Oh well... still hoping for a T6 Andorian ship btw
Yep but I don't see it happening. Does not hurt to hope though
Well, you can fly one ship at a time, but you can use up to five with the mastery traits, so pretty good idea form Cryptic there.

As much as I love the Prometheus, I could not justify the Zen cost for not much more than my current T5-U version.
Will it cheer you up if I tell you that I bought a ship for the ship itself?
Yes . . Yes it would.
Of course a sale isn't really a sale when you don't use money...because the price of converting dilithium to zen shoots up...

Especially at current exchange prices.
