i'm fairly certain that STO servers aren't regionally load balanced so where you come from doesn't matter much, it's what ISP you're coming in to their data center in and we have no control over that

Century Link here. Even tried the tracert and pathping and it wouldn't even start the trace or pathping, but when I tried with Arc.com and yahoo it worked with those two, which definately says its their servers, not us (as if the number of people involved doesn't show that as well...) This keeps up too long and I may have to play some WoW for a while... (Getting bored of doing daily's that I've done dozens of times already there)

I'm outside of Chicago, so the midwest USA here. It tries connecting 4 times, and gives me the "Unable to establish connection . . . " message.

Okay no one rage quit the game...this might not be STO's fault but a server hub problem as it was last year (or was that two years ago) when I remember it...

Verizon customer here, was Comcast customer last time this happened, so it's determined that location or service provider isn't the problem.

That's how it works, it pings those servers from your computer and tells you if they are up or down. If they're down, you're not playing, hence why you're posting here :-)

Not going to rage quit STO. I still play WoW sometimes too, but for the time being I focus more on STO since I just recently started STO so everything is 'new', where as WoW is getting old. Given a feww weeks or so I'll get back into playing WoW more often, especially if they update (or during their in game events, which are more often than STO's...)

Last weekend was DDOS attacks, weekend before that was the same exact login/internet issues they are having tonight (they admitted it and extended the Crystalline Entity special event because of it). For those of us with Gold/Lifetime accounts it sure feels like they're taking our money, especially since they haven't even acknowledged this and it's been at least 30 minutes.

If this keeps up, they'll just have to rename the game Star Trek : Offline......
  • kwyjenkwyjen Member Posts: 133 Arc User
Have been checking STO twitter account, they usually are pretty quick about posting info in regards to game problems.. Unfortunately it looks like they are still unaware.. https://twitter.com/trekonlinegame
