well, we're not getting Emperor Tiberius, or(the awesome) Empress Sato. We're getting Admiral Leeta. So that says a good bit about the spin this season will have. Also I'm hoping it will finally explain why there is a Terran dread named Stadi.... Oh and I would LOVE to see Stadi too! :P

Three separate campaigns? Does this mean each faction has their own campaign to play? No more Fed-oriented shared content?
I sure hope so! This whole war has been an excuse to create Fed content and push it out to all factions! Each faction needs specific content and separate stuff for the half faction wouldn't be a bad idea either.
probably because, unlike in our universe, 'ensign' stadi didn't die in the crossover from the badlands to the delta quadrant
And then what happened? What did she do to merit having that giant warship named after her?
i don't know...did you check memory beta to see if there's anything on her? maybe there was something about her in one of those mirror universe novels that have been released over the years

you want levels without grinding missions? Doff. You can do it in 5m per char a day.
It's true.
My first character was level 60 before I even got to the Cardie stuff. I did a lot fewer DOFF missions on my DR and I still got to level 60 before he got to the last of the Borg/Breen related Missions.
And to be fair, my first character did Mission: Dust to Dust over and over again. Also, Q had him/us stabilizing Omega Molecule Daily ( though I think I pretty much grabbed OM whenever I wasn't doing Dust to Dust ).
Neither am I; and if the rumors pertaining to there being an emphasis on the Mirror Universe are true, I'll be very disappointed.

Personally, while I think it sounds like a cool season, I was disappointed to hear that it's coming out so soon.
There are still many issues with server latency/lag, there are broken powers and abilities etc. and the team is focused on 'the next big thing.'
We just got a nerf to Science Consoles because Bort basically told us they don't have time to fix them the right way.. is this why? So we can rush out a new season?
I like the ideas, but the game isn't ready for this yet. I understand the pressure to keep moving forward, but I wish that just once.. Cryptic would stop.. take a breath and deal with what we currently have. This game has some pressing needs that aren't getting met because everyone is working on new content.
I can see that Cryptic probably has their hands tied.
I wish that just once.. Cryptic would stop.. take a breath and deal with what we currently have.
I recall a while back, before the game went free to play, there was an inquiry from a poster regarding what kind of a company PW was. Someone who had been familiar with their previous games responded essentially:
.That their games were fun.
. Expect a grind.
. be prepared to open our wallets.
and lastly, PW's games can be very buggy.
Now I'm paraphrasing here, and I couldn't show you a link, but I remember the conversation now quite prophetically.
PW, probably has them on a time schedule and a short leash, and time is money.
It may simply not be in the budget to take time to go back and fix things.
This admiralty system sounds oddly similar to the shipyard on WoW; which, was a huge success! No, actually it was an utter failure and was rejected by the vast majority of the community. Wouldn't it be fun if your ships were completely destroyed if they failed their mission; especially if you had a 96% chance of success? *throws confetti everywhere*
I'm just curious to know how they could introduce an exploration theme to the game, without feeling the compulsive urge to cram combat encounters into every nook and cranny. This game should have always been 90% story and 10% combat, with exception to STFs and campaign conclusions; which, should rightfully have loads of explosions. When I think of TNG, DS9 and Voyager, the last thing that come to mind is warfare. Though, the entire story behind DS9 was built around the Dominion War, it still didn't revolve every single episode of the show on them fighting. It just feels so odd, being in a Starfleet vessel and you are blowing up everything you see in space. lol Perhaps in season 11 there will be that big reveal some of us have all suspected! Leeta will come to our dimension and say, "Holy TRIBBLE, you people are so violent!" Just like that, epiphany; we are actually an even more aggressive mirror universe!

Did you watch the TV show? the one where Kirk typically shot his problems to make them go away?

I can't wait for this whole dumpster fire of an arc to be over. Bring another war! Bring in exploration! Something to put an end to this minimal action, poor story writing, and the insistence that Klingons are nothing more than a **** pile of stupidity.
Bonuses for advertising? They can keep it
As for splitting content up? I'd like it but don't hold your breath. They ended the war because they, or rather he, didn't like seperate content. You can prove it is easier to split them up and he still won't do it. There will either be a Starfleet admiral running the show.
As for season 11 itself, I would think of exploration as a nice change of pace, but again, I'm not holding my breath that long. If mirror universe and or Tholians are the subject of season 11, wake me up again when the season 12 trailer hits.
Hmmm - one thing that can be said about 'unified' content is that we've been provided with plenty of it.
Spliting a new FE between factions would undoubtedly be more time-consuming and would slow down production, which would upset some of the playerbase.
Creating entirely new/unique content for each faction would be even more time consuming and would prompt the "what about me?!" scenario. Namely, introduce a new Federation-Specific FE, those who primarily play RR or KDF will be offended.
i don't know...did you check memory beta to see if there's anything on her? maybe there was something about her in one of those mirror universe novels that have been released over the years
I only recall one book that featured her - one of the Myriad Universe books (which generally contain several 'short' stories. She was in a 'what if' story that involved the Cardassians didn't withdraw from Bajor and discovered the Wormhole before anyone else.
I would much rather content stream out slower than it come out rushed and generic! Even if the ratio is 3 to 1 for the Fed, I would like to see KDF specific content once again. Personally, I think the STO team have ruined the KDF chances at being more popular by shoving their content together with the Federation. None of it feels Klingon and it just makes me more bored of the already lengthy grind. Perhaps a new writer will offer up more diversity or at least that is what I am hoping for.
So you are asking us to market for you and giving us bonuses to do it. Sorry there is little reason for me to tell my friend about the game nevermind complete strangers. In another opinion Cryptic and PWE must be feeling the pinch of all the people leaving the way things are have me even thinking about going elsewhere. There is a new Star Trek game beng made for tablets and mobiles this fall that may end up taking my time up. Sorry to the rest who still enjoy playing this game and hope you get the bonuses but I won't be contributing to this marketing scam

Compared to games I play now it would be like me begging someone to come play pac man in my basement and that its the coolest game of all time.
So, what kind of game do you play now?
I play Guild Wars 2 and although I love Star Trek the mmorpg player in me after around 5 years now or close to it kind of is bleh when there isn't really any pvp in comparison with this game. Then the world content which in this game could be like quadrant content or exploration is so vast in comparison.
One of the big things though I have seen is GW2 has dedicated devs that are the Dev PvP team that work on it. As well they make just about as much money off their version of lockboxes as they do PvP. I guess if you look at GW2, STO, and all the other popular game titles out there you will notice that there are certain types of events or content that bring players together after the acquiring gear and stuff like in STO reputations. A good example is we have dungeons for fighting these heralds/iconians and such but any where else in the universe we are in there is no war going on(that is where these newer games are giving you as much immersion as possible and retiring games like STO that we love to play but either they need to get with the times we live in or put the horse in the stable to retire it.
Edit: Reminds me as far as new content I will be impressed if the New Dawn season 11 is something more than just throwing in 2-3 more queues/dungeons and a reputation. It was cool when it started but a lot of players are filled up on this gear and new reps just are not appealing. As well I remember D'angelo said in one of his few communications doing the same thing over and over is boring and not fun and that they would be addressing it but I haven't seen anything ever come of that.

Timelines? It definitely has some nice aspects to it, like being able to choose your crew from many options across all series. I signed up for the beta! As much as STO had a lot to offer in the very beginning, from New Romulus on has not offered a lot to my liking. I am still waiting for the new Executive Producer, @salamiinferno, to start making some major changes to STO for the better. So far, things have slowly improved but I would ike to see some WOW-factor.
I hope we get the chance to get 2410/1 (or whatever the year is that Season 11+ is set in) version of Mirror Universe uniforms/costumes.
Would also be nice if there were a series of episodes where our characters are trapped/swapped with their MU alternates. If they were able to pass off as our characters, imagine the damage/sabotague/intrigue the MU versions would have done until our heroes return to the regular universe?
Well, that's a fantasy game. I would want to have a game where I can be captain of a big spaceship. There's still nothing like STO in that regard.
But of course you are right: All the good things about GW2 that you describe are impressive and would give STO a big, big boost. I'll just hope they'll ome to it eventually.
Yes, even the PvP part. Not only for PvP itself, but because a balanced PvP makes for better PvE.
I do like the approach they took to PvP in game I mentioned since gear is not a factor in it. You just click it from a list of what you can use and then the extra options would be in comparison where you would spend EC, dilithium or zen. So even a level 1 person to a level 60 person is equally matched.
Something they could do similar that work really good for this game is the aspect of how when you technically have been killed its called a downed state where you aren't out of the mix yet but for this game they could make a warp core breach mode where you could have different options to not explode or do something special when you do explode(this is how they made money off PvP there because you can buy many different kinds of animations your character can do when you make a kill in PvP).
Yeah in the future hopefully they will do something to bolster up some boosting for the game so PvP can exist and better PvE.
Some Mirror Universe content would be great! With the MU Invasion being a special event only now, there really isn't much of anything MU related in this game. Some more MU ship costumes, uniforms, and other stuff would be really nice. Especially MU themed themes for the Starbase, Embassy, Spire, Research Lab, DL Mine would all be nice touches as special unlocks.
I would like to see a mirror bridge with terran empire symbol and also some mirror skins we can use on our T6 ships. Since I no longer use my mirror star cruiser
