Ok, here we go: thus far, STO has had 2 very different types of expansions:
Legacy of Romulus = a new
faction, with it's own unique storyline.
Delta Rising = a new
sector with a story that all factions can play.
While there are obviously things people *dislike* about both of them(Romulans being a "fraction", DR having too much "grind"), they at least give us 2 very distinct categories of what an expansion can be. Other types of expansions include Neverwinter's newest "
stronghold" expansion, which introduces a new
system. If you choose this option, please be sure to comment what you have in mind.
Before we get to the actual poll, let me address a common concern: bug fixes. Many times when a new expansion is discussed, people say "where is the fix the bugs first option"? While bug fixes ARE a valid concern, bug fixes are NOT an
expansion. The question this thread poses is not WHEN a new expansion should happen, or what should be done BEFORE a new expansion happens, but simply what TYPE of expansion people want. For that reason, there is no "fix the bugs first" option on this poll, because that is NOT the question this poll is asking.
With all of this mind, here is the poll...

Not sure what the stronghold system is all about ill have to check out the details on that.

Yes, that is what i want as well. A territory control system, something along the lines of what Starfleet Command 3 had, i remember campaigns that went on for months. Id love to see capture and hold scenarios, on any map for that matter or within a greater PvP zone or sector that allows for greater transparency within the overall game.
People are claiming that the stronghold system is what our star-base system is, but i dont see that comparison as iam seeing PvP and the abiity to having to defend that of the stronghold which we dont see in startbase system. Unless iam missing something, which i dont think so.
That would be an awesome season.
Dr Henry Morgan Delta Recruit (Fed Science Officer)
K'nah of the House of Tucker I.K.S Vagari (KDF Tactical)
Lord Ba'al Delta Recruit (KDF Tactical)
That, along with that seemingly obscure and abstract concept of player-driven content, because if the cat is out of the bag that players can have more and endless fun playing alongside and vs each other than what a scripted and tightly controlled PvE system could do sales could, I donno, not be as predictable (even if they may be higher from more players who have more reason to show off and use their new stuff).
Add massive exploration of the Gamma Quadrant. End the love-affair with Voyager and start one with DS9. That tv show knew how to tell stories.
One of the biggest "problems" with some polls is that they put too many words in your mouth with the options. They give so much detail that even the option you agree with the most is worded in a way that you don't completely agree with it. While I know that there will always be some people who don't like the wording of any poll, including this one, I intentionally tried to keep these options simple enough that it avoided the issue I just mentioned, as much as possible.

In a way like Nog was allowed to join starfleet.
I'm not saying that is a bad idea, but "a short story arc" is not what I mean by "expansion".

Adds a bugfree revamped defera (updates graphics), terradome and nws back into the game. We will get a FE-Arc about the Tholians. Includes an unprecedented bug- and glitch-fix-package to improve player satisfaction.
Nagus already discussed above that bug fixes are NOT an expansion. No matter how many times you ask, they'll never stop working on the game just to fix bugs. It's not worth the trouble.
There is no doubt that expansions can come with bug fixes, but the point is that the bug fixes are not the "expansion" itself. The "expansion" is "the new stuff", whatever it may be.

In tandem with that I would love more RP oriented mechanisms. Ways to interact with your BOFF and even other Players on ship interiors. Hell treat ship interiors like player housing in SWTOR, make it moderately customizable, throw piles of "decorative" items into the cash shop and enjoy. This would let people take stations and RP, or assign specific BOFF to their proper consoles etc.
First, you'll have to change the meaning of the term "expansion" in video game culture.

Who needs meaning? Just get it done! :P
Bug fixes, a new mechanic, reintroduction of exploration and the total removal from existence of Dental/NoP/Shut up wesley etc.
i`me on Bord whit this but just make it contested sectors like the ETA Eridani block where the pvp maps.
I do not think whit will work for all sectors (What about Earth and Qo'noS).
My character Tsin'xing
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

My second choice, is not really mine, But I know a lot of people want Cardasians. I have no idea why, as I see no redeeming attributes with them, but if that is what they want, let them have it. But then there is a lot I don't understand, like the love of the Galaxy. If ya like it, more power to you, but putting women and kids on the frontline , makes the ship seem more like Palestine than a star fleet endeavor.
Please note, these are just my opinions, and not meant to upset anyone.
