In all honesty, the lag both visual and connection (there's a distinction between the two) has been my constant point of contention that I've been hammering a lot of people about. It has required a lot of my attention and has filled up my time. But it's pretty damn important.

Finally the Game sever.
The chat server is somewhere, but that can be brought up at some point even after the game server, as evidenced during the last anniversary event and a few other times.

If you're using ARC, then Yes. You're doing something wrong. Uninstall ARC. Launch STO via its own stand-alone launcher.
