I really like the idea that if there's a T6 Defiant it'll come with an item to complete a 3-piece set, and if the ship comes in a package then the other ships will be the quad cannon ships of the other two factions. A c-store Norgh/Ning'tao would be sweet, and ditto for a T6 Ar'kif.

Ning'tao is never going to make it any time soon. Not before a B'Rel. None of the lower tiered ships brought into T6 have been the Non-Canon ones so far.

Never say never.
Unless you're Cryptic and the subject has anything to do with KDF :V

I hope you're wrong. A Tier 6 Ning'tao might actually make me want to play a KDF character again, I LOVE that design!
Why do you need a T6 Defiant when you can just upgrade it for 2k zen as apposed to 2500+ zen.You can upgrade 4 ships.
Because, as noted, T5U/FT5U =/= T6. Some of the differences are small, some are more evident. Suffice it to say, there is enough of a difference to warrant those of us who are Defiant fans, wanting one.

I ma a Classix star ship fan which would like to see a T5 Const and Miranda as it feels like trek to me.
The hard point as to where the phasers are need to be changed and the Miranda has aft. firing torps.there is no Miranda in this game or Const.

Plus, the ship has been in need of love for a long time as it's now outclassed by, huh, every other escort out there?
Qin raptor says hi.
I know you probably mean fed accessible escorts, but that was just the first thing that came to mind reading through the last few posts.
for the record the qin is the t5 defiant in essence, its got a slower turn, slightly higher hull and lower shields and the broken crew mechanic inherent to all kdf ships. The fleet version on has 4 tac consoles too. The only real advantage it has over the defiant is its cloak is integrated.
There will during this summer, it's the missing iconic ship after Intrepid and Galaxy. They have a bundle waiting to happen, nobody buys the Defiant variants anymore. Foolish to say it won't happen.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.
Aron Eisenberg has signed a VO contract with Cryptic, afaik, that pretty much means Nog is coming to STO and I hope he will be introduced as the new Captain of the U.S.S. Defiant as we have seen him do in the DS9 episode The Visitor!
If that is the case there is the story reason to revamp and feature the Defiant right there including a rerelease of the playable ship as T6 and if we are lucky a revamped interior and bridge which looks ok but can use some minor touchups.
im happy with the Tac heavy setup.... i just want the same, but with a LTC eng, 5/2 weapons, with a nice new skin, like the intrepid and galaxy, and the pilot manuevers....
I wouldn't worry about this as the cuuent ships need fixing and the Kdf and Rom need Science ships more than anything.
You all just want a over powered escort.
Or maybe we want a canon ship that's not gimped as hell? TRIBBLE KDF or rommie sci ships, Star Trek canon comes first.

Canon comes first eh, alright then the rommies at least have a claim on a science ship from canon, its not in game at all yet so really it should come before another version of the defiant right.

And a secondary romulan vessel that seldom appears during the shows is supposed to beat in priority the Defiant, which was the iconic ship of Deep Space Nine for years?

I think this is the B'Rel / K'Vort problem all over again. The same model used for two ships of different size. At least the Romulan ship got a few adjustments...

What about (if we ever have one) the new T6 Defiant has a 5/2 layout, and if we use 4 Cannons of any type (DHC, DC, SC) we can see them if the were de quads? and of course the empty slot a nice litte quantum torp?
what do you think?
Your proposed weapon layout doesn't seem feasible since there is already Quad Cannons. So equipping 4 cannons to simulate quad cannons doesn't fit since you will probably just fit dual cannons. Instead just improve on the stats of the Fleet T5 version by 10%, and make a defiant console set that buffs phaser quad cannons
It's been said before; nonetheless - Phantom class says hi.
Its been pointed out before; nonetheless - If it can't fit the Defiant skin it isn't a Defiant. Phantom class say bye.
The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.

Yes, its called playing devils advocate.
And apparently it is n the game as a shuttle, something I was unaware of... which cryptic royally screwed since it was supposed to be half the size of a galaxy class.

If you're expecting a T6 Defiant to have a 5/2 weapons setup, you're going to be heartbroken. If you read up on every canon ship ported over from lower tiers to tier 6, other than BOFF slot changes, everything remained the same.
The T6 versions got the same Console Slots as the Fleet T5U equivalents.
The T6 versions did not get re-arranged weapon slots. The Intrepid was still 3/3. The Galaxy, Negh'Var, D'Deridex were still 4/4. The JHSS was still 4/3 Escort. A T6 Defiant is still going to be 4/3. You can take that to the bank.
Also NONE of them were Full Specialization Ships. NONE of them had a Commander Hybrid Station. LtCdr was the highest.

None of them had the specialisation ship mechanics either, pathfinder has no intel gathering, DD/galaxy/negh don't have inspiration, I wouldn't expect a t6 defiant, even if it has a hybrid seat to have pilot manoeuvres either.

Yep. I can see it turning out like that.
Even the other Non-Full Specialization Ships already at T6 don't have the extra mechanics of Gather Intel, Inspiration, or Pilot Maneuvers.

T6 also has 13 BOFF skills vs 12 of T5/T5U. That's a big improvement and the reason why the T6 Galaxy is more potent than it's Fleet T5U version.

no, i just want to fly a version of my all-time-favorite ship which is not flat-out worse than any other escort in the game.
RnD and upgrade needs less RNG. Less lottery. Something has to change.
