I've replayed a few eps, mostly to comeplete a set or get the Jem'hadar BOff. Nothing terribly strenuous because, as several have mentioned already, I just did these missions not very long ago.

If you are crashing this much, it's your machine not the game. Maybe you have your graphics settings too high?? In the 5 years I have played this, I've played on the same laptop at reasonable settings and it's only crashed once! The only lag I see in game is in STF's, everything else runs fine.

As for the OP comments, yup, indeed, I agree whole-heartedly. As soon as I saw this come up, even I said 'no'. I'm half-way thru Dominion Arc with my DR and I am not replaying anything until I have finished all the episodes! Also...forget asking for more rewards, we get enough as is. What would have been a better choice would be completing STF's to fill the bar. That would certainly have peaked people's interest, wouldn't it!?

I replayed the Spectres series...it means more to me when I play it as Alyosha versus any other toon including my Delta Recruit, but I did my part. The rewards are indeed absolutely paltry but that is the arc where for me the story and the experience are meaningful rewards.

Why should I do what a Dev says, rather than what I find fun? (And sorry after all the alts I have made prior to the DR event - replaying content for the upteenth time isn't my idea iof 'fun' - especially 'The Cardassian Struggle') YMMV.

I play STO to have fun not to "do as I've been told."

I've enjoyed playing the stories once more with my Delta Recruit, but it would not be fun to play them again. Also, I haven't finished yet and there are no gear rewards I want in the ones I've done.

    So: nope.

Now that there is no max level (thank you endless spec grind) perhaps this will get them to notice that the replay penalty should go away as sitting at max level no longer means skill points are worthless things.

Replaying a mission and not noticing your bar even move a sliver is not a good enticement to replaying another.

So after replaying all the missions around 3 times to unlock all the delta recruit stuff we are expected to play though again!!!! Not a chance. The first replay was bad enough let alone a 4th time.

what you have got to realise and im surprised cryptic didn't consider it themselves is this is way too soon after playing through the missions levelling their delta for many to want to play them again, also many players created more then one delta character, I myself created 3 and am still in the process of levelling them up so playing repeat missions is just out of the question for me and all the others who are in a similar position.

it would have been a much better challenge to get players to play through the later missions from the dyson and delta story lines, some players would have perhaps been more keen to do this as they are missions they didn't just play yesterday, having said that I still think the response would have been poor in any case.

but finally the devs never told us to do anything they put out a challenge but many players chose not to take it.
they are not in charge of players and are in no position to command we do anything.
cryptic and sto devs made this game so you are free to do whatever you want while you are in the game, they might try to temp us to do things for certain rewards but we are not obliged to do them, we are free to do whatever we choose.
in this case the reward offered was just way too little to temp many to take the challenge.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    Ha hah...no.

I've not done any mission replays personally on a Delta Recruit. I've leveled them, sure. But redone missions? No thanks.

However, to play devil's advocate for a moment...

Could it be that instead of few players doing it (as we don't have all the knowledge here on the forums after all), it could be that the bar was set 'too damn high'? Far as we know players could've needed to do heaps and tons of replays to get to tier 1, let alone 2 or 3, with how slow progression has been.

I might be wrong of course, merely offering another possibility.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Replay missions to earn a possible dill bonus reward...... at the same time there is already running a dill bonus reward this weekend.

My choice was easy, the toons spend their time on the mines to grind out the weekend bonus. :D

I agree with the others in this thread. This week's goal makes little sense -- I've played through all these missions on my other characters many times, and I have little desire to play through them more than once with my Delta Recruits.

If Cryptic had given us a Featured Series Rerun event, and unlocked the limited-time rewards, that would have been a different story...

I've gladly participated in all the other goals up to this point, but this one does nothing for me.

I would agree with this, if they had run the lobi rerun event to coincide with this weeks challenge they would have got a lot better response.

I for one would have done the missions at least once a day to get the lobi and I`m sure many others would also.
and as lobi is account bound we could do this with our deltas and passed the lobi to whatever character we choose.
wheather this would have got us to T3 I don't know but I`m sure we would have got at least T2.

The fact it was sitting at 0% for the first 24 hours, a lot of people said "TRIBBLE this" and stopped trying. And in that 24 hours, I ran on a team of recruits replaying missions. But again after many of them and still sitting at 0%, everyone stopped for the day. And since Cryptic refuses to even acknowledge what happened in the first 24 hours of this, that didn't help matters. OP was the dumbest post I read all day. And I've been reading Facebook posts today to show how stupid that was.

I replayed mine trap to turn my pet horta into a battle horta. Then again to get a new pet horta 'cause he's cute.

I replayed operation gama to get the full set. Then replayed it three times to help fleetmates who suck at shuttle missions.

I replayed the feature episode to get a second tech upgrade.

I replayed one of the breen missions to get both the cold beam and the set shield.

I replay the new Romulus warehouse mission several times a week because lighting madran on fire and watch him run away in flames begging for mercy never gets old. Shame that one doesn't count.

People are already sick of replaying these missions after doing them in their DR'a and you expect people to play them again? Second of all, it's just a prize unlocked for replaying old missions; nobody at Cryptic commands us to replay them. -1 pt to the OP for failure to understand that doing the replays was optional and -1 pt for scolding us for not having done them.

    The objective was beyond stupid.

It was a horrible idea.. we just went through all the missions on our Delta Recruits and they think we're going to want to do them again.. for less rewards?

For what? Some extra Dil next week?

I'll make more Dilithium overall if I just spend both weeks doing my normal Dilithium earning instead of spending 1 week occupied by missions I don't want to replay so that I can get a little extra next week. By ignoring the objective and proceeding as normal for 2 weeks, I get more out of it.

You play your way and let others play their way. I didn't take part because I don't want to.. if you don't like that, then tough.

That, and I'd just finished Replaying a couple of Episodes for some equipment sets the previous week.

Oh, and Mark conversion has been removed from the Dilithium Weekends, so it's probably not part of the Dilithium Week either.

Oh, and the increase in dilithium rewards doesn't mean I can refine it any faster.

Oh, and I'd rather play multiple characters than just grind like mad to gear up just one (yeah, Delta Rising really sucked for me :P).

Oh, and Assimilation doesn't give Very Rare kit modules anymore, they nerfed that.

Oh, and Replaying an Episode for no dilithium reward, to get a percentage more next week if we manage to unlock it... still doesn't balance against just doing something else and getting dilithium now.

Oh, and... you get the idea.

Actually, I think the whole thing is a valuable source of feedback for the devs. They offered a server-wide bonus to dilithium for everyone and it still wasn't worth it to many (if not most) of us to participate. That's a clear sign that the Replays are not giving good enough rewards... especially when they just got done nerfing Assimilation, an Episode Replay that was actually worthwhile as a means to fill in gaps in your Kit. Maybe, just maybe... they should be adding useful rewards instead?

Dear Cryptic, next time make the Tier rewards a Diltihium Refinement boost instead of more Dlithium. T1: 25% boost to 10,000. T2: 75% boost to 14,000. T3: 150% boost for 20,000 per day.

Then people will replay the missions and we can watch the Dilithium Exchange go even higher. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I spend several hundred million of ECs (if not more) on two to three characters, and I end up spending the better part of a month taking a welfare-geared character through endless lag, rubberbanding, buggy missions, user-unfriendly UI, unskippable cutscenes, stupid objectives I hated two-three times already and thought I'd never have to do again, but now I do if I want this Temporal-flavored Carrot.

Yeah, honestly this is approaching Fleet Starbase levels of hassle. I've reached the point where I literally do not believe the reward is worth the grind, so I'm not even going to try.

I will not feel the least bit bad if this server-wide reward does not unlock completely.

Ultimately this Delta Recruit event just made me appreciate how much I love my main characters, and how accomplished I feel with them.

I am unsurprised. Ok, I read the firt page of posts, skipped the rest..

Delta recruits not doing replays eh. Pretty obvious to me as to the legion of reason why thats happening.

It's human nature. My best guess so a good many player likely made 3 to 4 alts.. 1 fed, 1 kdf, and 2 romulan republic, one to align with each faction. For this week Delta recruiting goal the players have to repeat arc mission they've likely just recently played through on multipule toons. And that's not counting missions you may want to run over again anyway such as FE's due to mission rewards. There is a point where saturation checks in and players say "no, I am not running that again"

But thats a symtom.. Lemmie lay out the "Cause"

The motivation for the players is not there. Especially for the delta toons. They ran em all, and got all types of goodies coming up. Now to achive the weeks delta goal, they have to run them over... and the reward for doing this... Mission drops and rewards that get vendored..reduced XP, There might be some rewards or drops you keep to run tech upgrades on such as hybrid disruptor-plasma weapons... but for the most part its all gonna be vendor trash...You might make 2 million EC maybe (no exact number.. just pulled it outta my hat) and have a hand full of keepers when your done. And thats really is only going to be a handfull...

Reward for the delta recruit project is 7 days of extra Dilithium rewards ..woooo hooo! Right..

I can still only at best refine 9,500 Dilithium per day. Thats including a LifeTime account benefit , Vet refining DOFF mission for a 1000 extra refining capacitiy at the Academy, and for 500 dilithium at the Fleet mine holding

I would say off hand that players looked at it and some where in their head went.. "Ohh so thats what diminishing returns means!"

Humm lets see... go do missions on my Delta in the delta quadrant, and work on Iconian rep, and get dilithium. Really pretty easy to go earn ones max refining amount per day. OR grind out missions with low value reward, and that Do Not earn you dilithium, there for giving up most of a week dilithium generation to generate the possibility of 7 days of mightitily enhanced dilithium rewards and most likely end up with more ore then I can refine.

And nothing anyone is going to say in these forums is going to change that. This week Delta goal is a bit of a lemon for the delta players. Bitter sweet. Can you really blame folks for wanting to give it a pass? I sure can't.

For the Delta recruit toons, they're far better off for themselves grinding out regular dilithium reward mission, Running Rep reward missions etc. It is for a huge percentage the better stratagy with the better pay off.

Well, as I sit here, my opinion of the DR event is going downhill, again, due to lack of communications.

    To wit:

I get a wad of fleet stuffs. I spend it as soon as I earn it, because that's how you advance your fleet and gather fleet credits for advancing your character's gear level.

Then I get told that I should have waited till week X to do so, because of metrics / the plan / the belief that you need 2 weeks from earning them till you will desire to spend them.

I decide to perform a few replays, for "semi critical / useful gear" while I'm in sector / working that arc / etc. Then I get told that I should have waited for the fourth week of existence because you'd never want to replay missions while kitted out for them, or need the gear while you're there.

I partook of the "advancement system" for characters in their lower 50s, aka the Reputation system. Again, shot most of the wad of stuff I was given. I'm just waiting for them to tell me that it's the 5th / 6th / 7th week of existence before you're "needing" to start advancing reputations...

And finally, it wouldn't be so bad if, like for Fleet Credit week, they went through and scanned all the DRs contribution levels and applied that to FC week, or tracked replays from event start and back-credited us for all the work we did before the appropriate week.

Nope. Who cares that you "played" the game the way you're "accustomed to" - we are attempting to get you to play the way that our Metrics want you to play... (Opinion, of course...)

Had I known that one of the events would be replay week, then I might have forstalled the replay-grind for the appropriate week, etc. etc. Hence my "lack of Comms about event" commentary at the start.

Be disappointed in me if you wish, as I did not jump through the hoops to advance the challenge in question at all. Then again, you might want to look to other places (Devs and failure to disincentiveize us from performing task till task was necessary/desirable) and/or think that some of us might just have gotten what we needed to out of replays already and have no desire to do so, some of us have longer term plans and are electing to show our "displeasure" at the various gearing levels (ie, why grind up Breen set if I'm going to be grinding up A. MACO and my Mk XII "twink" gear will cover me till then), or any other number of issues and concerns that would distract someone from performing replays...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]

I've been disgusting with the community ever since upgrading system and DR, if not moreso than with the developers...

Haven't played since because there isn't anything that qualifies as new content, point in case, forcing the whales to replay story missions.

If it weren't for people who do exactly what the developers want, no matter how terrible it is, because they ain't got nothing else to play, the game would be awesome.

They put the game in a position where the grind will increase exponentially, just like the developer effort will decline as a symptom of the fact, that the developers have been allowed to get away with anything they want.

The only positive thing there is to say about the situation is it can't get any worse now and luckily there are other games out there.
