I get the samething! On not even 10sec and get disconnected! I'll give it about a few days to work the bugs out and try again! It's like a new movie that's come out. Have to wait a week to get the theater to see it! LOL
Great season 10 is here, but guess what? We don't get to play, because it will not load! Come on you guys, a lot of us have spent significant money on this game, and we should be able to play. What's the dang hold up--why are you not fixing it?
Aww...Only $800 Canadian dollars spent and climbing weekly ; I haven't even bothered to get the Lifetime Sub yet.. ...LMAO
by the Time this Season 10 is downloaded, Patch installed...I would of spent 600$ on another game...hmm??
LOL..
I am feeling the sting of Jealousy as I read the comments that others are already playing ..but not so much , since more than 80% of the players are crashing, getting lags and bugs up the Wazoo..lol
*Greatly anticipating this new season, by the edge of the captains seat..lol *:D
Is there any chance that those new loading screens that look like propaganda posters can be released as wallpapers? The game loads so quickly now that I've barely had a glimpse at them.
season 10 is great and all but their are bugs i cant search for specific items on the exchange and their are visual bugs on the phantom Intel escort with the Borg console other then that i am enjoying season 10
I had that with the season 9 logo, easy way I fixed it... run windowed... then when yoiu're in, maximize the window. Unmaximise before closing the game or it remembers you were maxed and crashes on next startup.
The transition from the cryptic screen to the season logo load screen seems to dislike some cards/driver combos apparently.
OMG! THANK YOU!
I haven't been able to play on my laptop since S9. Where were you in the other threads?
Well, while I'm patching, let me see if I can critique the dev blog...
This moment. Consisting of... 2 episodes, and 3 queues? And a new reputation system... to do 3 queues with. Oh boy.
That seems a little thin to get hyped up over. Just my opinion.
Yay, my hard work getting the 15 spec points into the piloting spec tree on two characters gets paid off by... discovering I only made it halfway there. Whee, pushing goalposts is fun.
But at least we have the sector walls taken down, the highlight of this update for me.
Awesome, we finally get to fight the Iconians!
Er, wait. We're still fighting their minions...
So fighting the Silver Surfer is the exact same thing as fighting Galactus?
Yay! Because my hype level is pretty dismal right now.
For now. Let's see how the Stephen Ricossa Apology Tour plays out.
>>>> You forgot having to play whackamole in the "delta flight"<<<<<
So far so good, would like to have the bugs fixed (was replaying one of my favorite missions and it lagged to the point of.... near crashing.....) but other than that nice job on the Sector Space Update and I cannot wait to level up and get to the Iconians!
Pros: I like the new sector space. The Heralds are fairly cool.
Cons: Are we really going to do a plot arc where we're a ragtag bunch of rebels fighting an unwinnable war against invincible demigod wizards? Also, not too stoked about absolutely handing the Heralds their butts in segment after segment only to get deus-ex-machina'd into an insta-fail anyway. All the "oh we can't possibly win but at least we can die with honour" rings incredibly hollow.

I'd like to go on record as saying that I logged in on the splash window and started downloading updates around 1800 last night (local time here in Germany). It has been running non-stop since then, and it is now 0700 local, and there's still 650MB to patch. Additionally, we now find out that (surprise, surprise) S10 wasn't quite ready for "lve" yet, and so STO will also be DOA tonight for fixes that should have been done before S10 dropped.
The net effect of which is that I'm going to get robbed of 2 consecutive days of playing. Because cryptic won't/can't be bothered to stagger updates to "spread the pain". So while most everyone in the USA is at work and not impacted by this--the effect on European players is morbidly unfair.
Mind you, for the record, it is NOT my internet connection. I can stream Netflix on a VPN without issues. And I've let my computer IDLE while downloading this patch--so my bandwidth is not being hogged by any other processes.
So for those of you complaining about rubber-banding, unplayable lag, and disconnects....you haven't even seen half the problem. And it will STAY a problem so long as Cryptic's servers are still pushining updates which--rationally--shouldn't have taken more than about 2-3 hours TOPS. Unfortunately, no one on that side of this game seems to recognize the problem of pushing a patch update of this size in one lump-sum....despite the servers already being at their full limits at least on a semi-weekly basis or more (minimum of patch day and on the weekends).
Tonight, when I get off work, I'll come home and attempt to load again, only to be faced with more patching--which will undoubtedly be so slow that it will abridge any ability to log in and play tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow morming, 24 hours from now, I'm still not able to log in--after attempting to patch the game for the 2nd consecutive night in a row.
I heartily recommend that Cryptic extend the giveaways for a 2 week period--because some of us will probably not even be able to log in during this week. The overall attitude towards, treatment of, and concern for European players is just atrocious.

Or Star Wars but with something else. (That's what I got.)
I personally don't mind the story arc. I just want the lag fixed.
I loged-in yesterday at 18:00 German time and the game patched in 30 minutes and started without any problem. So as some people sad before this seems to be isolated problems if the game takes ages to patch or you can't connect. And I am really tired of reading the same s*** with each update Cryptic releases. Check your own connection and settings before complaining.
Enjoying the new season. Flow around space with a few of my characters, did some doffing and some rep stuff. Yet to do any of the new content, as I'm upgrading some gear for my main first.
Howdy all,
I have been trying to get into game with no luck. I did the patch and logged in like normal and starts to boot up then gets to Iconion War Logo and says Material Files Reloaded and crashes. I have deleted and redownloaded ARC and Launcher and still nothing. I know server is going down again today I hope they fix this. Oh and I have also tried the Force Verify an Safe Modes like some people have suggested still nothing. As Fleet Leader sucks I can't even get into game.
I have mixed feelings about new season. Sector revamp is really good and I hope after few final touches it will be great. I am only sad from Taco info they do not plan add few more surface instances and let them just for Foundry... anyway big thanks for devs for this work. This is probably best thing in STO since Romulan expansion.
But Heralds/Iconians stuff... I don't mind they are easier for experienced players than they hoped. I would even endure their design I personally find very nonST as it is about personal preferences. What disappoint me is very lame writing. Well, I never consider STO very high for its story telling, but except few moments (Cardassia/DS9 missions) it was something I accepted. But all that cliche with Preserves/Iconians in current episode is big disappointment even for STO standards. It should be finale of long story across few years of game and it looks more like foundry mission from someone not so much experienced in writing.
I quite enjoyed Uneasy Allies episode. In fact even we visited old locations, it worked. I would accept use of old assets again, although I hoped we will see at least one new location. But lack of creativity in writing...? Even with low resources creativity is far from something too expensive. Or... I would prefer money not invested into actors but to hire someone who is able to come with more interesting story telling.
I don't want to sound too harsh, but this should be finale of long story. It would deserve really better execution. My only hope there are more episodes to come...
I sort of feel you guys have the biggest cajones to try and hype this as "Season 10."
All you did was add TWO missions, 3 utterly unplayable STF's, and the really well done Sector Space overhaul. At best, this is like Season 9 3/4.
Even on normal, most teams are failing the STF's within 1-4 minutes. I know, I've been trying to farm Iconian marks with nothing but "F**K this S**T" levels of frustration for hours now. IDK if it's player incompetence or too many NPC ships for 5 people to handle. When I've spent 30-45 minutes on ONE stf, I think it's sort of disgusting that I'm awarded 12 friggin marks. C'mon now! Do you even want us to still take this seriously, play, and BUY zen?
The opening video for Blood of Ancients has missing elements and toons, the audio is off on items, etc. Then when you're on the Flotilla, half of the people are fused into the floor from the waist down... I can't imagine it's very easy being a Dev on an MMO like this one, but I also feel like you guys have had months to get this thing ready to go live. With so little new content compared to previous releases, why is this one so graphically buggy, full of typos, and looks like it was thrown together in 2 days?
To end on a good note; Stellar job on sector space though! Three cheers for that
Sector Space Overhaul: I love it, looks terrific and I hope to see more improvements like this.
Fleet Intel T6 Ships: About time! Now I have something to spend Zen on.
New STFs: I've played the space battle one for Qo'nos, I enjoyed it. I'm still seeing lag now and then and hope that gets resolved but over all I'm glad you guys started these out with a normal mode on up. I wish you did that Vaudwaar one like this.
Still waiting on the Romulan and KDF pure T6 science ships like you did for the Feds. Over all a nice release. Kudos.
just to check this isn't it right? two episodes and some PvE missions
I mean if this is THE war against the iconians that sto has been building up to then surely it needs a full story line and a battlezone at least as impressive as the dyson sphere zones.
also well done on the design of the heralds, they look awesome:D

If that's a dig at my personal experience, you can go fornicate yourself with a sharpened stick.
Last night I went to far as to shut off the STO splash loader; speed-test my connection, attempt various other downloads/online tasks; verify my DL speeds; cease all other activity; and then open and reopen the loader about half a dozen times (waiting about 10-15m of loading each time)...just to test the idea that perhaps I got a somehow crappy connection as a freak accident. In every case, the DL was no faster. There was LITERALLY nothing I could do on my end to speed up the process--even though every measurement tool I have at my disposal says that my connection to the internet (and specifically to US stateside servers) was functioning supremely well.
NONE of that was the case. And the fact that 12 hours later, the updates still hadn't finished downloading (again, despite my DEMONSTRATED internet speeds AND the off-peak times when i was attempting to update my system (read: after 0100 local)--this only goes to prove my point that this issues are NOT with my connection or even on my side of the Atlantic.
So if you are in ANY way, shape or form trying to paint this as a client-side issue:
1. You are badly mis-informed and sorely mistaken
2. Your apologetics are NOT welcomed here
3. Kindly f-off
Because the only way that Cryptic/PWE/ARC will ever address the systemic inability for servers to handle demand--is for stories like mine to be made public. Because YOU and your lone instance of "everything went wonderfully" anecdotes are not indicative of the player-base as a whole, and your belittlement of my experience is insulting at best and ad hominem at worst.
I want to donate some (much) latinum to the Nagus! I want to rub his ears with my super sexy vulcan lady dressed in Ferengi clothes (even better if we respect Ferengi traditions and female chars are naked on this Planet).
Lets play some dabo or even do a Tongo-championship every year! The nagus will win of course, but for the second place its raining latinium!
There would be even super nice possibilitys of LOBI assignment!! Make them rare but give some lobi to players, all Ferengi hearts will be even more addicted to this shiny unreplicatable crystals!
Always keep ur ears open!

I'm actually quite impressed with this season. There's not much lag, at least for me, and I'm loving the new Sector Space and Pilot Specialization Tree.:)

How do you even fail a normal STF at all, let alone in 1-4 mins? Those are practically impossible to fail.

I finally get to a point where I'm really loving this game, and now I can't even log in. Game crashes at the Iconian War screen.
I hope they get these issues fixed soon enough. I didn't have any problems until today.
