There will be sacrifices that must be made.

Why did I suddenly get this idea:

We're going to lose our entire ship, including all gear, and any Boffs and Doffs stationed on it.

And then possibly a time travel story which you have to play with another ship to get your destroyed ship and everything/everyone on it back. :)

Would be funny if players lose literally everything, temporarily, they've build over the past five years :P

Thats what DS9 was all about. But I know what you mean, and while I would love more of a focus on exploration, problem solving, and diplomacy, battles are what everyone wants nowadays and since Cryptic needs to make money, they need to make what sells.

2 new episodes with season 10, awesome ... would be nice though if they redistributed them and the current level 60 missions to make them available earlier and facilitate an easier leveling experience.

It's been my experience that characters hit 50 around the time of the Cardassian arc. (My Delta Recruit's 53, and just finished Badlands.) Hitting level 60 before getting to the Delta Quadrant's easy if you're not sitting at 50, having finished all of the prior content (like most of the characters when DR was released).
That said, you've still got those annoying patrol missions to slog through. The main benefit of hitting DQ at level 60 is that you only have to do them once.

Admiral Quinn and the leaders of the KDF and the Romulan Republic are gathering the best and brightest of their commanders to plan for the inevitable conflict

My guess is they're gonna do this in a area with minimum security, no flying patrols, at the top of a building with enormous panes of glass and have every single important higher-up (and you) gathered.

Of course, there will be no concern about various incidents happening the last day, no question about a strange device installed on the conference table and everyone will say how proud they are of you and that they'll retire after the war. Of course, the few security guards around will only have two days left until retirement.

Also, I surely hope 2 episodes and STF to grind aren't the only things we're gonna get for S10.

Are the Iconians and the 'Sphere Builders' Archer is warned about the one and the same?

    Max

No, you are confusing them, the sphere builders are beings from another dimension (they even appeared in the series, they looked like preservers) and another time, they've built small spheres capable of creating the expanse, but not dyson spheres, which are spheres encasing suns, those spheres were created by the iconian's servitor races.

This was the case with my Sci, which i made the last time there was an xp weekend, but before delta started it was looking like i was still going to hit a wall with her in the upper 50s. Knowing this, my delta has done every patrol in the first three sector blocks, and is now level 44 after completing guardian on the edge of never ... i feel much more confident about this toon, lol.

But a change would still be very nice for my 2 original toons ... i can't stand grinding so i just can't bring myself to play them much anymore.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OLBXJ9MngE.. oh wait, wrong enemy :P

its certainly heading down a path of destruction, but im reserving judgement for now, i get the sense these 2 episodes are not the only ones based on what was written, cryptic are playing their cards close but almost as if they want to reveal it which is most unusual in a blog from previous years where they state nothing until right after launch.

I´m Admiral, 60 L. my ship a fine Multivector Prometheus Class. Out here could by two or five ship more advanced, bigger and better armored, but like the SURPRISE on Master and Commander , The U.S.S. Pijao will stand and figth to protec, to secure and to explore over any foe of the United Federation of Planets.

We finally reach a boundary to the unknown. The inconians is the las thing all we Known across all the cuatrants, but there are a last point to visit. Our admired Captain Jean Luke Picard boldy go to the center of the galaxy and make first contact with a life The Cytherians.

Now ew have the technology to make a journey of exploration and visit by our own techonology our Cytherian friends.

That could be nice if the Iconians doesn´t knock to out doors. I´m tired of war but my ship will stands to bring safety to the thousands of planets under the Alliance , figthing side by side with my brothers of the Klingon Empire and my friends of the Romulan Republic.

Yes, now i undertand what´s the meaning of " The Glory of Battle and die with honor", it is a strange obituray for a science Admiral whom the war make´s a Tactical ship, his flag ship.

    Eternal Glory to the Alliance.

In the mission replay Dust to Dust is put after What's Left Behind, which doesn't seem to make much sense judging by this post. Should it be in a different place to make sense story-wise?

I stated the same thing before D2D was added to the regular storyline. D2D has more to do with the end of the Kobali Prime story and begins with. Vaadwaur attack which makes no sense at 60 since we fought the last fight with them at 59. 60 and beyond should be the cross over stories to Season 10 (Iconian Wars).

That would explain why our bird of prey line is so inferior to the rest of ship lines out there... martok has been hoarding the good ones :)

Maybe that's why they gave us a holographic boff, they are immune to Iconian mindblowing techniques.

/Spoiler The doctor will be the first person-hologram to kill an iconian /end spoiler.

I recommend you to bring jem'hadar along with you, if they die you can always get a brand new one in only 3 days.

The very first dialogue window of Dust to Dust gives the explanation if you completed "Takedown".

When we last saw an Iconian, it was after the attack on Qo'noS in "Surface Tension." That being warned us not to attract their attention again.

    We didn't listen

I cant be the only one who thought of this?

I hope this doesn't morph the game into nonstop grimdark everyone-dies stuff. I do so tire of Starfleet always being Warfleet.

I think you got it wrong, well just a little. The Sisko will return, and we'll help him take Empok Nor back in time, where he will lead an alliance of races to victory in the first Iconian War.

Then, after a near death experience, Captain Shon will lead us to ultimate victory. We will then have one last task, expose the president as a member of Section 31 and lead a revolution to save the Federation.

Now if only there was a TV show about those things. Perhaps guest-starring an older Chekov, I don't know. That might just be very good. Oh wait...
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

...because war is what Star Trek is all about.

It sort of has been if you think about it.

No actual war broke out in TOS but the show did take place during a Cold War, which almost heated up at least once in "Errand of Mercy". Then of course we have the Romulans attacking the Federation in "Balance of Terror" and the Enterprise going on a top secret mission to steal a cloaking device from the Romulans in the "Enterprise Incident". TOS was all about military conflicts, they just rarely broke out into a full scale war, with no war taking place directly on screen. Dialog from the other shows however does indicate that the Federation and Klingon Empire did go to war, despite Organian interference. Again, we just never got to see it on screen. Example: The Battle of Caleb IV.

TNG officially took place during a time of peace, but they also listed plenty of wars and conflicts the Federation was involved in between TOS and TNG. We have the Cardassian Wars, the Galen Border Conflicts, at least one attack on a Federation Starbase in 2353 by the Tholians, in which Kyle Riker was the sole survivor. DS9 mentions the Tzenkethi War around this time as well. Like TOS, TNG also came very close to igniting a war, they just never actually went over the edge. Before it was learned they were attacked by the Borg, Starfleet and the Romulans believed each had attacked the other and almost fought over it. The Federation and Romulans nearly came to blows again in "The Defector" and conflict was close to breaking out with the Cardassians again in "Chain of Command". TNG would also give us the Klingon Civil War.

There is always military conflict in Star Trek, we just don't get to see it on screen all that often.
