We get to assist a morally questionable alien species destroy a man's identity, while taking orders from a doppelganger who does his job, lives in his house and hugs his relatives.
That's not even close to what the mission was about. It was about stopping Ensign Harry from endangering Voyager, which was out on a secret mission at the time. I just don't understand how or why so many people keep thinking that this mission was about us helping the Kobali in any way when so much of the entire story arc was about Starfleet finally seeing in plain sight exactly how abominable their practices were.

I thought the mission was a display of your character's super human levels of patience, fortitude and humanity. Particularly that part at the very end where you catch up to zombie Harry Kim and you don't throw him down a pit, electrocute him, or make him run an annoying maze while being forced to listen to two people opine on the nature of identity. Or, my preference, shooting him in the head.

I didn't exactly say that that's what the "mission is about" any more than I said that A Step Between Stars is "about" flying a badly set up ship. I listed it as the part I found bad about the mission.
The Starfleet should have already known full well how distasteful the practices of the Kobali are, but apparently they are choosing to ignore that because of whatever handwavy reasons. Voyager's encounter with them in Ashes to Ashes should have raised plenty of questions already.
The major failure on Starfleet's and the Benthans' part is that the Kobali are allowed to have military ships to hijack in the first place, before it's been completely documented where they got all the 80 million plus deceased they exploited to reboot their "civilization", and whether there's a risk of them "making dead people" to increase their ranks.
Temporal Ambassador as a Romulan. Why is there no option to take a plasma rifle to Tasha Yar and end Sela's reign before it even begins? Even if the Wells ship crew stop me... Give me the option! I'll plead insanity brought on by her whinging about the forcefields and protocols...
Worst missions?
Hmm... I'll have to go with the Delta Quadrant Patrol Missions except for Jarleth, Trakia, & Argala. The rest of the Delta patrols weren't my cup of tea, plus a few of them were laggy.
Favorite missions, I go with "Past Imperfect," "Temporal Ambassador," & "Dust to Dust."
As most of us have recently just played through all the mission content agene what were your top 3 hated missions you wish they would update.
Cant be totally negative and your 1 of you fav's
