I'm thinking something involving American Civil War clothing and uniforms, as well as a kit that allows you to be the scarecrow. Ow come on, everybody has been the scarecrow.

I'm hoping for some gold MXIV Roller Skates, maybe revisit some 80's Buck Rodgers and give us some light up hula hoops, AND oh GOD some 2nd season Erin Gray outfits. Lobi store can add some Olivia Newton John Xanadu, muse outfits.
    In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
    A stately pleasure-dome decree:

Come to think of it I'd love some of Princess Ardalas outfits.....

    ****

Anyway, there are plenty of things to do or fight after the iconians, and honestly I hope this isn't a final fight, but a long protracted war.

There are plenty of stories to tell Op. I have high hopes for the writers of STO to come up with something new. This first five years have been a teaching class for the writers and developers and they can do so much now they will come up with something new if the time comes .

O, I have faith in their writing skills, but it's a bit difficult to set so much up for one big baddie, then try and top it later on, especially when it took, what, six years to get to said big baddie?

I think that there will be the big first engagement...then we'll see Featured Episodes of background stuff and even a new Faction or 2.
    Leading to the "final battle".

Then STO will cease storyline/plot development because they counted their chickens way too early.

If I were in charge, and I'm not, it would end with a near last stand, then the Q step in, showing there are some things just beyond us. After that would be exploration and rebuilding.

But im not in charge of anything, so lets wait and see.

Cryptic and Blizzard are trying to get to an agreement. When it happens we will get Murlocs. There will also be a murloc armour. Some famous Startrek actors may be hired to do some murloc voice acting, but that is not certain.

Alliances have funny ways of falling apart and leading to war. I'm assuming that once this is all over, the KDF will have nobody to war with other than the Federation and the interesting part of politics with the Romulan Republic would definitely cause some issues. You can make some interesting story from the fallout.

Further, nothing has been heard from the Dominion. I'm sure they are not happy at all with all this Iconian activity. The founders have shown time and time again that their safety is more important than anything else. With all this Alpha Quadrant meddling, I'm sure they would find a way to secure a gateway and not be restricted by the wormhole.

Why not they've done it so far. First the ultimate baddy was the Borg... then they let that die, and brought in the Jem'Hadar... then the Breen... now the Iconians... next has to be something bigger then the Iconians
Careful, we don't want the game trapped in the Sorting Algorithm of Evil (Don't click that) or how others call it: Spectacle Creep

We don't need a bigger Big Bad. The Undine weren't really bigger than the Borg, the Vaadwaur weren't bigger than the Undine.
So far, the games's story has been doing fine without spectacle creep.

I don't really get why people are so concerned about wrapping up the Iconian story. Something will come after them, and it'll probably be better than dragging on the Iconians forever.

IMO, the whole "Iconians as the source of all evil in the universe" -plot is starting to get old. We've seen enough of the hencmen, now it's time to get the Big Bad on screen, commence the epic battle, and move on.

But as long as we're speculating...maybe the next step is the Terran Empire giving the Mirror Cochrane Welcome to the Mirror Iconians, stealing their tech and...you know. :D

"The other", depicted in the non canon books as 0 (Null).

Then we get help from another noncorporal being, which will share its mind with us and build a device to destroy 0.

    Exploration of the Andromeda Galaxy?

    Conflict with the Dominion?

I think the defeat of the Iconians will most likely involve some big trick and not be resolved with conventional warfare. Maybe a destruction of most of the gateway system.

I'm pretty sure the iconians won't be defeated in season 10, the heralds yes, but their masters? Nope. I guess they will retreat and in the meantime something else happens like another dominion invasion to they can sell us a tier 6 defiant.

Including an epic battle at/near Earth, where we face a huge Iconian fleet and escort some superdevice through the gateway to a Dyson Sphere? :D

In all seriousness, lure the Iconians back to their spheres and then technobabble them into forcing every sphere to jump through time to... either the end or the beginning of the universe. Bonus points if Captain Shon or somebody performs a heroic sacrifice to make this happen.

Well, i'm still waiting for them to fill in the HUGE and way evident gaps and holes in the lore.

What's going in the gorn Hegemony? Why the rebels?

What's the beef with the nausicaans being such KDF lovers? Where'd the pirates go?

Why the ferengis are pretty much nowhere to be seen? (A couple of cameos by some trader of little notice is NO appeareance)

Since we'll soon get to travel around the First Federation's space, what about their stance on what's been going lately? Do they know ANYTHING at all of what's been going on at least?

How did the letheans get annexed to the klingon empire?

Where the hell even are the gorn, orion, nausicaan and lethean homeworlds? Did they get Hobus-ed or something?

What about the Dominion? Hasn't the discovery of gateways all over the galaxy even concern the Founders? Really?

So much to be added, and so little effort on their part to first fill the gaps, and THEN continue the lore.

"Whelp, we've defeated the Iconians, but it turns out that they were holding back something even bigger and badder. Their reasoning for trying to enslave our galaxy was not for their own gain, but so they would have the means to defeat a greater threat. To make matters worse, it seems that this new problem child of the universe may not have even been aware of our existence, but because of our actions they now know we're here. The very actions meant to save ourselves from one evil may have doomed us to fall to another."

I wish we had a spectacle creep .
Retuning all the existing enemies to new power levels (see DR for reference) without any in game reason besides "buy Mk XIV nauuu" tasted like horse manure .

... and coming up with the said "spectacle" (Heralds & Iconians) 6-8 months later does nothing to sweeten the taste ... , if anything , those disco uniforms just add more sour on top ...

    Sela happens next.

In helping defeat the Iconians through time travel, she takes the opportunity to "Biff Tannen" her past self, and she rises again as a super power. She, of course, knows that if she reveals herself too soon, she creates a time paradox, where she never learns what she needs to know in the first place. So she is waiting til she goes back to reveal the networks and armies she's been redeveloping since... well... all along.

Why do you think nothing phases her? "Oh, good. There is another gateway here, we aren't stuck" spoken almost sarcasticly in the Hobus mission comes to mind most recently. Said like she shouldn't have known there was one, but did. She gets lots of such lines, it seems. Why?

She already knows what's to come because she told herself. Denise Crosby is reading the lines like she is bored. Not that Crosby is bored, but like her character is tired of knowing what is to come. "Oh look, here comes Hakeev. What a suprise..." For everyone but me, Sela thinks. "Whatever shall we do with this mook" Is what I should say, muses the empress to herself, as she says the words she knows she must.

Honestly... I don't think we're actually going to fight the Iconians themselves any time soon. We'll fight multiple waves of Servitors and eventually corner them in some dark corner of Andromeda.... after we explore enough of Andromeda to actually find them.

Fierce pony's hellbent on the destruction of the galaxy develop a new hyper stellar rainbow from which to sow their enchanted flute melodies....

Players are rewarded a wide assortment of fetish leather gear, whips made from incandescent fairy locks, and bridles than will rival the Lipizzan in their pose and grace.

    Klingons need not apply.
