No it will exist to basiclly troll pvp... where the most broken Command and Intel skills make the game completely unplayable. And we all know this ship is going to have Intel and Command seats.

i like playing the featured episodes, like a single time. the story is the only real new trek content there is, its the only reason i haven't airlocked my STO install at this point.
With all the cool ships and aliens, I really with there was a truly independent play experience, where you didn't have to join Fed or KDF (without having your game stunted like if you play Rom and just don't choose).
Well this is one I will be spending on Been after the Bug for years so I can use it on the dreadnought carrier, It will be a lot easy than trying to make 500m for the old bug. and the Mats for R&D will help me up grade all my Dominion Polaron Beam to MKXIV or I'll sell it and get the old Bug lol

Because CBS has already ok'd the Jem Bug to be sold as a golden snitch. Rare, and cherished. Every Asian MMO needs one golden mount that only comes around a few times a year right before quarterly reporting time. Its like those lovely little Easter cream eggs that only come around once a year, get em while you can. It would have likely been a lot more work and cost them money to get CBS to agree to another ship....
So why not just resell the same ship... it has worked like a charm every other time they have done it. Why would this be any different.
They could get rid of all this anger by just putting these Lockbox ships in the C-Store as well as running the gambling promotion.
They would get assured sales and some people would still gamble on getting the ship cheaper using the promotion.
It might end up being more money than they are currently scamming with all the disapproval of their current business practices by their customers.

There ins't just the gambling to consider... there is the tanking of R&D materials when they need to (or doffs) they can run either promo when they need to control a market, which like waves on an ocean effects other things and makes them money in other places. There is the key sales (yes some people will open boxes and gladdly charge 5x for Lockbox R&D packs even though they won't have a ship chance... cause Cryptic obviously on purpose hasn't made them different... they look identical on the exchange).
So key prices are going up... D is going up... the value of useful items like R&D matts is going down.... for a solid month. It all translates into more $ in there pockets even from people who could care less about the ship.

Well, the pattern of these promotions has always been "Lobi crystals plus risibly tiny chance of super-duper-ubership"), so no change there.
Since the JHAS is now a T5 ship, it can't legitimately be marketed as the super-duper-ubership, so Cryptic's choices were "entirely new super-duper-ubership" or "revamped version of the old one", and I think either way, people were going to be unhappy. The super-duper-uberships don't really make sense in terms of Trek canon anyway, no matter what.
(The alternatives of not having the promotion at all, or coming up with some new and innovative grand prize... might have been explored. But weren't.)
I think now is the time to lay in a supply of earplugs, for the next set of screams of outrage, a few months from now, when the next promotion hits with the T6 answer to the Voth Bulwark....

Well, ah. yeah I'm not one to join a Rage on the forum. Most people have a ridiculous sense of Entitlement. And I defend the game because I love it. And recently the Dev Communication has been superb instead of Non existant.
And I NEVER cared for the Bug ship or its looks, etc.
But, This is a T6 Bugship. It even lets you Customize it's appearance to be so. And given that Statement from Last promo, yeah, I'd agree. Previous Bugship owners should be given the option to upgrade their's to this new T6.
Can't treat this like with the pathfinder, as its own new ship when you already made that statement. It would be a big slap to ANYONE that grinded/Paid to get the last Bugship.

The weak TRIBBLE frigate of the Dominion that was costantly destroyed in DS9 is the best escort in game. And it's about to happen again!
It will come down to two sides, those without a bug will see this as justified since no one now wants an outmoded T5 bug ship even if it comes with free upgrade, and those that do have the T5 bug ship seeing this as being a cheap way of getting more money out of them by usurping the status of the old bug and ignoring a promise to keep the T5 viable. Either way, it comes done to loyalty to the customers... does it exist.

It was advertised to be upgradeable "to Tier 6 starship capabilities at no cost".
That "mistake" has been cleared up a long time ago, probably shortly after they realized people will rebuy their old ships for even more money.
