    People that are currently online can keep playing fine, but if they log out or try and switch characters they can't get back in.

    i was switching between toons as noticed the dil exchange was going up in price and wanted to cash in my dill before the Dominion ship goes live and make sure a large chunk of my refined dil wasn't devalued. Now i can't get back in

    that's a real good point!you may have seen what the dilithium exchange rates where at before the server went offline. this really makes sense now for me, i think it's just a kind of "emergencybreak" because people began to influence the dilithiumexchange now.

    Same error for Florida too :( and of course it must occur on an evening I actually have free to play...

    Sigh, no avoiding having to do work as I can't play my game. Orrrr, I could play my new/old love, Homeworld.

    Still I was hoping to get some marks so my hard work of pushing pixelated buttons doesn't slow down.

    Comeon Cryptic... get them hamsters some energy powder.

    Why do they keep ignoring those of us who have been, for some time now, continuously saying "address the stability issues / bugs before adding new content" despite knowing and openly acknowledging our concerns are valid? Is it so much to ask to make sure the God damned server can actually TAKE a change in the game - RELIABLY - BEFORE adding MASSIVE new content?!!? I am very afraid of what will happen once they try to add this sector space revamp. We are heading very quickly toward a point where they have NO CHOICE but to stabilize the game, because it won't be working AT ALL. That day is coming VERY SOON.

    All that does is ping the server.

    The server is online, doesn't mean it's working correctly.. which it's obviously not. The server is online, it just can't retrieve account information.

    We are aware of issues logging in and are working to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

    can't login either was trying to change toons, I'm a paid member so I can still chat with those in game via pidgin, advising my fleet mates and those in channels I frequent to not toon jump.

    when i try to log into sto i get this message, what does this mean?

    Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out

    i was in game then it kicked me out and i couldn't log back in due to that message :)
