    Party by Q!

This might be worth coming to ESD just to watch this happen!

Assuming no one has the [Redacted] on them of course...

I've got a disco ball that I've had for 2 years, waiting for the right time.
That time is about 4 hours from now, apparently.

The [Subspace Party Nullifier] that you can get at DS9 in Quarks bar for 100 Latinum?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Have sit-ins ever accomplished anything other than making the participants feel like they're Doing Something? (I guess occasionally, but mostly not) Better to hurt them in the wallet. Don't buy new stuff, don't upgrade, don't grind, don't participate in the power creep and monetization of everything, and encourage your friends to do the same. Enough people hurt their income, hurt their metrics, they might change some things, but as long as people keep grinding and spending, no amount of Social Awareness will do anything.

Well, no. I would bet that if a large enough populace did not log in for an entire weekend and their metrics showed an enormous drop in logins, there would be red flags raised for sure.

We already saw massive drops in logins, courtesy of the Steam stats. Brown nosing white knights like you just rationalized it away. You think Craptic is incapable of doing denial? Oh wait... they have done denial.

The good thing about this thread, if nothing else is that we can see who has Craptic on their noses.

    But...why?

This is just one problem among the many that have happened, and plenty more that will happen in the future. And you got an official explaination and the event extended to a week to apologise for the crossed wires.

So really, you're kinda late to the party.

Making people feel like they are doing something and are able to do something is the first step in actually doing something. Getting people together to express a common view is what inspires more of the same in different forms. Today's sit in might be tomorrow's refusal to log in.

We could talk other games that do not treat us like ****, for instance. Of course another thing one could do at an in-game sit in is spread the idea of not paying for incompetence and downright malice.

Actually, we were early to the party and worked under the premise provided to us that our efforts would come to fruition later. The ones late to the party were the ones who set an unmentioned policy into effect in an ambush of good and loyal players.

    They care about 2 things:

    Metrics

    Money

Hitting them in one or both is the ONLY way to get attention, in my opinion.

If only they let us volunteer to shoot (pepper spray at? Either way...) you people.

Sometimes you've got to figure the riot police are the modern day heroes.

If you're at a stage where pepper spray is being used, your protest crossed a line. In which case pepper spray, however painful, is the least of your worries.

Unless you're a student being sprayed by a copy who's 90 days from being retired anyways, who knows full well he can't be fired, has been looking for any excuse to get off his feet and into a desk job. In which case you're screwed and a statistic.

Heros are subjective based on your read on the situation.

My law enforcement heros are the ones who defuse situations. Not the ones who get off on causing pain.

I think you misunderstand it... I got the item to annoy people like you... Not because I hate the discoballs.

    Seems I have had success.

OP i wish you luck, but i would think another spot would be better like Vulcan, Andoria Risa. Bajor rather than ESD /first city . go to places that mess up metrics . everyone is expected to be at ESD /first city during the event . just a thought . though not logging in sound like a good plan too .

We will be hosting a sit-in to bring awareness of the discontent brought by recent unexpected changes to Dil Rewards on ESD and the First City. You can park yourself right beside Q. At the same time as the Cryptic Livestream. Thats 2PM PDT/5pm EST/10pm GMT Friday February 6, 2015.

We welcome all to join and express peaceful concern for this removal of rewards for players.

    Good luck !

You may want to advertize your efforts on STO Reddit , and who knows , maybe Priority 1 might be interested in covering and / or simply mentioning this (altho I would not bet on that) .

And for the usual bunch of sourpusses here , consider two things :

    1) It may not be effective , but ppl sure remember the sit-in's with the torches , when City of Heroes was about to be canned .
(my suggestion to the OP , choose an Emote , and / or uniform and own it as a symbol)

    2) And more importantly (or perhaps more sadly) -- do you think ppl would participate in a sit-in for STO if tomorrow they announced a shutdown ?

This is what actual passion for a game looks like (not to be confused with the trailer trash white knighting that goes on hereabouts) . Sad that ppl here either have forgotten or never knew the difference to begin with .

Quite honestly I'd just stay logged off but I have two characters I'm emptying out of dilithium slowly so I can delete them. I'm reducing my character count by half because since DR alt toons are just too much hassle to keep around. The up side is I'll be spending less on ships and upgrades while saving cash for other games where they develop for fun instead of metrics. :D

B.t.w. and no offence to the OP but this change was already in the works for months and it was supposed to be introduced during the last dilithium weekend.

But anyone complaining could and should have known about this months ago. Not only that, the change makes sense and so why all of this nonsense?

Where was this published months ago???

I suspected they would take the marks away someday. Just as I know they will make doffing pointless and will fix contraband. But I don't have a specific date.

Look, I have 32k worth of Omega marks i'd also like to cash in on Dil weekend.
But here's the deal for STO: The free ride over.
The days of people slaving 15 Alts for dil is OVER.

You can no longer buy everything in game at the pace you once did.
Which honestly was losing Cryptic shiploads of profit.

You've had 4 years to abuse the STO economy. Its over for your kind here.
The hoarders have held back STO from advancement.

Your kind is no longer welcome here.

If you can't accept what has happened here in regards to dil rewards and collection. You need to find*another game or stfu...

And they extended the weekend to a full week, so shad up with that "poor me" entitled me TRIBBLE.

STO does not stand for Scrub Trek Online.

You know, I do agree with you. Also old timers are not wanted either. For example, I have sufficient dilithium and zen to buy anything I might want in game for the rest of its existence. I am utterly worthless to the company.

What they want are new people who forget the salad days and accept the lean times. Well, not lean yet. When the last couple relics of the old days are removed then the true new era will begin.

And I will be here until the lights go out enjoying playing Trek (for free).

Then why are you here, because you sure as hell are acting as one.

Also, please define what you mean with "your kind", and 4 years to abuse the economy? Are you implying that playing the game to gain ingame rewards is abusing the economy? If yes, how do you come to that conclusion?

Aside from that, your post reads as one big flamebait. I take it you are hoping someone will reply in kind so the thread can be closed?
