We will be hosting a sit-in to bring awareness of the discontent brought by recent unexpected changes to Dil Rewards on ESD and the First City. You can park yourself right beside Q. At the same time as the Cryptic Livestream. Thats 2PM PDT/5pm EST/10pm GMT Friday February 6, 2015.
We welcome all to join and express peaceful concern for this removal of rewards for players.
Note: I read the Community Rules and have a google cache of it. In no way is this a petition or spam and in no way am I trying to incite an argument or discontent. This is in fact something to hopefully bring awareness to major discontent. I hope that the moderators see that we're only trying to do something good for the sake of the game. We care.
If its working in the players favour - "This isn't working as intended. We're going to remove this from the game. You're not playing as we intended." If its working in the games favour - "We have too much on our plate to fix this/Working as intended."
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
As for the metrics, we'll start with this step. It wasn't my idea in the first place. I'm just the mouthpiece. If it comes to a mass logout, we'll see if anyone is interested in that. So far we've got many people interested in the sit-in so I'm looking forward to it.
Hope to see many there and if we don't, we hope you're enjoying the game at its current state.

B.t.w. and no offence to the OP but this change was already in the works for months and it was supposed to be introduced during the last dilithium weekend.
But anyone complaining could and should have known about this months ago. Not only that, the change makes sense and so why all of this nonsense?

You might want to call your local news station and national news station about your protest. When workers at McDonald's stage protests they always call the media.
I will not be assisting you in your protest, when I log on, I play the game as a form of entertainment.

How will this change anything? Oh, and may I add...
HA HA HAAA! A SIT IN ON ESD/FIRST CITY! HOW STUPID!
Well OP good on you for choosing to do something other than simply complain like those who posted mockingly after you (many of the handles that posted after you are in every second thread with a complaint, they're now know as whiners). There are few things groups of players can do to show their displeasure with what Cryptic has done. Complain here and your just called a minority player. Your idea is inventive.
I shall wish you all the best and hope your actions are noticed. Although I think this decision is made and done perhaps if nothing else others down the road may not be carried out in such haste.
If the OP really wants to make an impact, organize a log out instead of a sit-in. 10,000 people not logging in for a whole weekend (or longer) is going to hold more weight than those same 10,000 people logging in to just hang around ESD.
Yeah, but that'd mean not playing the game, and that they cannot do.
Have fun sitting in one place while I zoom around the galaxy, gathering shiny rocks and not being resentful because I'm not getting more of them for free.
FFS do the hourly rep mission and get more Dil per mark than you would if you converted. It's simple maths guys.
Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."
You know what, more power to you OP - you'll have my support. If people are so offended by your idea, they don't need to reply to this thread and can go round the galaxy doing what they want.
Cryptic couldn't care less. In fact you logging in will make their metrics look better.
The best protest is to not log in.
I disagree. being on the Livestream and that getting out can't be spun. A "sit-in" on an MMO hitting a couple sites where the word could get out would be an interesting story to some. People general attitude towards corporations isn't exactly amicable to begin with these days anywhere on Earth.
A gaming community protesting on a live feed could make for interesting stuff. Cryptic may not give a TRIBBLE but maybe what the gaming public sees is something they might be interested in.
Besides, their metrics need all the people logging in they can get. They should sponser a protest, really. It would likely draw more people than a junky dil weekend/week or some broken events.
Yup. They'll show a video to the higher ups saying "see? just look at all those people logged in and playing!"

And let's not forget lagging ESD to freaking hell...besides. Servers are limited to 50 people an instance so...
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not offended by the idea at all. I fully support people doing what they can to affect change in a positive way.
Pointing out that sitting around ESD doing nothing isn't really going to accomplish the desired result doesn't mean you hate the idea is offensive. I simply added that not logging in would have a greater impact, especially since Cryptic is so metrics conscious.
I don't disagree with you on the second point... I'm just happy someone is trying to do *something*. It's hard to make a difference, or to make a stand, when you feel like you have few or no choices available to you. A lot of us are in limbo - we don't want to leave, we like(d) the game and have friends here etc. Yet we're not sure how to make our voices be heard.
Stuff like this is probably a desperate, futile act but... there doesn't feel like many other options, short of leaving.
Some disdain the OP, by saying that it will improve the metrics or not be noticed. That's possibly true, but there is one thing we do know: not logging in (the favoured alternative) is not working at all.
People who favour not logging in are just trying to create silence, which, of course, Craptic will love. "The players love it. See? Not a peep of discontent."
The OP at least has the benefit of trying to do something, misguided or not, other than just bending over and taking it.
"Wow!! Just look at all these people who turned out to join our Livestream event! Isn't this great!"
There is your spin.
They can spin to themselves all they want. That's called self-delusion. I'm saying if they could get a little something going, get some You-tube videos out, *maybe*, some gaming site or mag might find it interesting and that they wouldn't want.
I mean, that's a huge maybe, but I give the OP credit for trying to do something for a game he/she clearly loved. I admire the passion.

So let me get this straight: the rewards that we wanted before and were entitled to are to be considered free even though we had to queue up for many ground and space stf's and work towards getting enough marks to complete each rep tree? Secondly, your saying that we're being resentful even though an official Cryptic announcement initially said the dilithium bonus did apply to t5 rep rewards? Please do me a favor and remind me never to take anything you say again on this forum seriously in the future. It's unbelievably pathetic that white knights now have to resort to blaming players over using features that were provided to them in game and that they have the audacity to make posts like yours on the forums. You sicken me.
Could always make a stand against the metrics and say to Cryptic you'd rather sit at the Captain's Table - probably the most dead place in STO. I know not everyone can go there but hey.
It's a valiant protest but can't see Cryptic doing a thing or care so only way to hurt them is strangle their income and tell everyone new players and old not to pay a cent and that people can enjoy the basic content for free. Prompt any possible way to deny Cryptic money or mess with their metrics by doing the content they'd rather you not do.

That means if you spend 10 minutes doing the New Romulus daily you already get over 2,000 dil over time, no bonus needed.
I'm not outraged by this change, it makes sense to me. So I don't support your cause but I'm not "offended" by it either.
