I'm continuing to have problems with logging in, getting kicked out after I finally manage to log in, and severe rubber banding and freezing when I don't get kicked out.
The problem has persisted for several days in a row and based on other posts in the forum it appears that the problem isn't being experienced by everyone, but nor is it exclusive to me.
I have an excellent connection to the internet and all other aspects of my system are performing well - its just a problem with STO.
The problems first started to occur on new years day and have persisted.
The issue is particularly frustrating in light of the fact that I needed to grind more Q pictures to get my Breen Raider (which didn't unlock account wide, as promised). I'm also likely to miss the entire weekend event due to the unplayable condition I'm in.
I've been getting increasingly frustrated with this game, and this may be the last straw.:mad:

on our facebook group, some fleet members have written they can't log in.

ombined with servers being down recently (and not for first time) I see this as a clear indication that there are problems. I hope they get solev soon!

Looks like there may be a issue with the Qwest Communication gateway to the pnap.net backbone... If we had a working 'Path Ping' diagnostic result, that would confirm it...
Same issue here. Problem originated after I unlocked and used the Delta tier V space ability - nannite healing. If I do not launch fighters, or separate ship - no problems or lag. If I launch the fighters or sep my dread (Elachi), hell lag ensues. Happens on the breen carrier as well. It has made the use of the ability impossible. If you unselect that trait, things go back to normal in the stfs.
so a friend suggested i look at the options in my launcher. i selected a specifically United states Proxy server, and running steam in teh background, i still get Lag rubber banding, and random account server disconnects but it's happening at a far less frequent pace than before. decided i would try this since the proxy server gave it's .com address

You are absolutely right, of course.
The issue is that many of us are addicted to this game and the COMPLETE lack of communications by the company's customer service folks causes us to try to fix it ourselves.
On top of this, there are a bunch of people in the forums telling us how nasty, stupid, and unreasonable we are for expecting a company to be responsive to their customers.
I'm not familiar with how to look at and change my launcher options. Can someone direct me to where I can find more info?
open the Launcher, in teh top right corner it says "News | Forums | Support | Options | Release notes"
click Options, at the bottom of hte options is a drop menu that says "gameplay Proxy"
despite being an american and probably closer to these servers than the alternative, it gave a warning about how this might not be good, i clicked it anyway. Click Save, and restart the launcher.
I was able to connect around 11pm Eastern time, after a slow load. Once in, I didn't get dropped.
I tried again this morning before leaving for work, and was able get in again.
I'm crossing my fingers that the issue may be fixed.
If I wasn't worried about getting enough Q photos to compensate for the broken Breen account unlocks, I'd probably shrug off the whole situation and happily go play something else until the company fixes their product.
no it's not. Not for me at least.
I wish the game had been this bad BEFORE I paid so much money to play it (lifetimer, quite a few zen ships, Delta pack,...)

I 2nd its extremly laggy every evening since some time now. I posted a few weeks ago, that i cannot launch the game anymore through ARC. So i use the launcher as is. But even the launcher loads extemely slow - the page is build in slow motion. Once the login comes available the launch tries to patch but at this point there is barely any progress. Here what i see in the output window

Its not my connection - this is fine i can use everything else without any problems or lag.
I have the same problem. During the day (Europe) it's fine, but in the evening it starts with the server not responfing messages, untill it kicks you out. At that point even the launcher get's stuck on 'Loading, please wait...'

Most annoying is that this ONLY happens in battle, not in sector space. Average time in game down to 1 minute if in battle - Hardly conducive to gameplay. Ships can move back to previous locations with a motion blur (rubber-banding?) when the connection re-establishes momentarily.
I must stress that the internet does not lose connection, just the connection to the game server. Arc remains connected throughout and the launcher reports a good connection too. Frustrating:-(

I'm in the same boat. Zulu +1 and it's entirely unplayable almost immediately after I arrive home from work. Seems to be completely fine in the mornings still. And although I've seen some peak-use lag before...this is completely unprecedented. STO is very much in danger of losing Europe if something isn't done--this is peak time for this continent.

I would like to say this is my case but add bases to the list. I snap back to consoles I left or end up running face into a wall after me seeing me trying to go through a door but never actually got to the door.
I can't even log in right now. I get to the character selection screen but get disconnected from login server whenever I try to start playing. Internet connection seems to be fine so I assume it's either a problem on Cryptics end or something along the way. I can confirm that the problem occurs mostly in the evening (about 8pm-10pm in europe) the last few days it ranged from lags to random disconnects (after which I could login normally till the next disconnect) but getting kicked when leaving the character selection is new.
The past 2 1/2 days straight. I can't even walk from the exchange to my bank without being sucked back to the exchange. I couldn't imagine if I actually tried to play the game right now. I even gave up on the exchange rubberband and just left it was that bad. If I stayed longer, I might rubberband back to where I was at this time last week.

I'm not familiar with how to look at and change my launcher options. Can someone direct me to where I can find more info?
All the while my girl is on my same network and playing the same game without any issue. STO's code is broke, it happens every single time they expand and nothing gets fixed till spring. sssh come on, after this long you would thing they would have gotten it together by now.

You are absolutely right, of course.
The issue is that many of us are addicted to this game and the COMPLETE lack of communications by the company's customer service folks causes us to try to fix it ourselves.
On top of this, there are a bunch of people in the forums telling us how nasty, stupid, and unreasonable we are for expecting a company to be responsive to their customers.
open the Launcher, in teh top right corner it says "News | Forums | Support | Options | Release notes"
click Options, at the bottom of hte options is a drop menu that says "gameplay Proxy"
despite being an american and probably closer to these servers than the alternative, it gave a warning about how this might not be good, i clicked it anyway. Click Save, and restart the launcher.
I tried again this morning before leaving for work, and was able get in again.
I'm crossing my fingers that the issue may be fixed.
If I wasn't worried about getting enough Q photos to compensate for the broken Breen account unlocks, I'd probably shrug off the whole situation and happily go play something else until the company fixes their product.
I wish the game had been this bad BEFORE I paid so much money to play it (lifetimer, quite a few zen ships, Delta pack,...)

Its not my connection - this is fine i can use everything else without any problems or lag.
Characteristics
Screen freeze of movement (effects continue, smoke and glare and beam effects) with jerky operation and controller input delays. I remain connected throughout AND maintain voice comms also. Most annoying is that this ONLY happens in battle, not in sector space. Average time in game down to 1 minute if in battle - Hardly conducive to gameplay. Ships can move back to previous locations with a motion blur (rubber-banding?) when the connection re-establishes momentarily.
I must stress that the internet does not lose connection, just the connection to the game server. Arc remains connected throughout and the launcher reports a good connection too. Frustrating:-(
I love this game and would hate to have to drop it for this connection issue, especially as the Delta Pack was purchased and I was considering a Lifetime account purchase too.
Any help appreciated.

if the devs dont do something against that ASAP they can say bye to the european players
I would like to say this is my case but add bases to the list. I snap back to consoles I left or end up running face into a wall after me seeing me trying to go through a door but never actually got to the door.
