...It was on ESD this morning and I took a screen capture...but I have no idea how to post it here! If anyone is even slightly interested at seeing it, of course :rolleyes:

She's this girl who likes to have lots of free giveaways on esd lots of mediocre prizes but good for new players. And its not a spam bot.

See, now that you explain it, it makes more sense. Good catch. Though to be honest, i never even check the Zone-wide chat, i keep it disabled, so i am all good with it.
So is it ok to post toon names as long as you dont include the @handle?
Saint Olivia (well at least the real one) is name of a toon who generally gives away gear for free. I believe most of the gear she gives away have been donated to her fleet by other players. The gear she gives away seems to mostly help out lower level toons rather than high level toons. Although I have read that she gave away a Plasmonic Leech recently which is worth around 35 - 40 million ECs. I believe she adopted "Saint" into her name after many players have called her toon a saint for giving away free gear.
The fake Saint Olivia is a spam troll that uses a bot to send out fleet invites, challenges and fleet map invites. Basically, it is identity theft. STO does not prevent players from naming their toons with names that are already used. I can create a new toon and simply call her "Saint Olivia" and start playing the game.
As pointed out by someone else, the real Saint Olivia has a handle which ends with 211. However, the fake Saint Olivia uses a handle that ends with 21l; that is a lower case "L" not the number one.
He's also claiming to represent Saint Olivia's fleet, which is explicitly forbidden by T&C section 15.2.b. And that's one of at least half a dozen violations he's committed. (I actually went through T&C and listed them all out here.)

I think you can forget about free giveaways in the meantime. Poor Olivia, trying to do a good thing and gets basically TRIBBLE for it.
As long as people are not trying to impersonate PWE/Cryptic employees, they simply do not care if players try to imitate and falsely impersonate other players. Even if those players take the form of 'high profile' players such as STO media representatives from podcasts, players such as Saint Olivia, or really anybody else.
Yes it is in their ToS about trying to impersonate other players, or their fleets, but to be perfectly honest, the GMs do not care.
They have the cop-out of saying, "Well, you can't really duplicate someones @handle perfectly since they're unique, therefore they aren't really breaking that imitation/impersonation rule."
So when it comes to things like this Saint Olivia impersonator with a similar 211 at the end of her handle?
Cryptic simply does not care. She isn't from PWE. She isn't from Cryptic. The trolls pay money to the game too, and as evidenced on Smirk's livestreams? They simply do not care.
Yes, it's against the rules. But it's a rule that is really just lip service. It is never enforced.
Theres a major flaw in your premise: The game has no GM's.
The game has GMs. They are just extremely biased on how they enforce the rules.
If I go in game and create the handle Captain Smirk@pvvecapta1nsm1rk and start harassing other players in zone chat and trolling them. You can be damn sure I will get a ban for that and an e-mail stating I can't impersonate other players or fraudulently impersonate PWE employees.
If I go in game and create a fleet named Pr1or1ty One and create a character that resembles any of the prominent players from the actual Priority One podcast, and go in game and start harassing people?
If people then report me for trying to imitate the Priority One reps, the GMs will not do anything. They will just say, "Well, you can tell by the 1's instead of i's in the fleet name that it isn't the same fleet, therefore it isn't imitation and a violation of the rules. And those players @handles are unique to those players, so technically they aren't being impersonated either. This report has no merit."
Imagine how it must be to log in as a GM and instantly be assailed by nearly everyone in the same instance tattling on everybody else in the same instance. To the point where it is impossible to get anything at all accomplished. Imagine the abuse when Player X brings a supposed 'ToS violation' to you attention and you do not drop the STF you're playing instantly to attend to this. Imagine the trolls making stuff up just to see if they can get a response from you. Imagine responding and then getting slapped down by pwe/cryptic for overstepping your authority.
I certainly wouldn't want anything at all to do with being a GM in STO. And I'd want it even less if my ingame handle publicly identified me as such. I'd probably do the bare minimum required to retain GM status and I'd pass the hard calls along to paid pwe/cryptic staff as fast as I could. Heck, I'd probably pass the easy ones along as well.

And "she" seems to be absolutely reveling in the attention and drama of having "multiple" "impostors."
Now I'm not ruling out the fact that there could be people with so much free time that they make spam accounts, but this idea that people are targeting a "famous" player just to sully "her" reputation is far fetched.
As it is, I've been on the receiving end of the spam and have probably been hit with challenge invites 200 times. Then it took me a few minutes to locate the privacy settings and change them, and "she" just went around it by spamming me with some other type of invite.
Enough already. Ban the spam accounts and ban the "real" one. Regardless of whether impersonating players is against the ToS, harassing players is definitely against the ToS.
I think I know which troll fleet you belong to.
