But then this just randomly happened, and needed to have a photo taken. So this one below is my official entry for this. I call it 'Snowy Conspiracy'.

A big problem I have with the screenshot contest is that you require photoshop. That's not a free software, as far as I know.

If someone can do something with Gimp or Paint.NET or Windows paint or just a naked screenshot that stands up to photoshopped picture, why not let him compete? Is the layered PSD that important for a community contest?

For those still looking for an option to participate:
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/the-best-ways-to-open-a-psd-file-without-photoshop/

There is a Paint.NET plugin for PSDs.

GIMP apparently supports them out of the box.

Wow PSD is required. But I can save my images to PSD format. But the image has to be 1920 x 1200 instead of 1920 x 1080. Well that's the max I can go up to.

No. PSD is NOT required... I use gimp which works just fine.... 1920 x 1200 can be obtained by rendering your scale....

To anyone entering, dont bother submitting a picture that ISNT in the Winter Wonderland, and ISNT an action shot. Ive noticed the general theme of winning entries. You CANT get that creative, and they are secretly looking for a specific shot to showcase something specific, in this case the wonderland. Dont bother just standing around with your toons, etc. As if they'd select a pie eating photo to win a screenshot, PA-lease. You need to think like an action movie director, and the less STO SFX in the shot the better. Pure shots look better. Those space shots that show everyones shield bars, lame, those dont win.

    Action
    Clarity of focus
    Strong graphics card
    Winter Winterland background only
No extremely off the wall characters and outfit combos

Anything else, you're just wasting your time if your goal is to get your picture IN game.

    I'm glad you like it.
    :)

    How I took that screenshot:

    1. Demorecord Tides of Ice.
    2. Once inside the demo file playback, hit "~" to open the chat bar.
    3. /setregionfov ground 15
    4. Hit "~" again to close the chat bar.
    5. Begin playback with the camera unlocked (F2) so I can move around the zone as I want.
    6. Pause playback when I find what appears to be an interesting scene.
    7. Move the camera until I get a good angle.
    8. Hit "~" to open the chat bar.
    9. /renderscale 3
    10. Hit "~" again to close the chat bar.
    11. Hit PrtScn.
    12. Hit "~" to open the chat bar.
    13. /renderscale 1
    14. Hit "~" again to close the chat bar.
    15. Repeat steps 5 through 14 until I have a variety of screenshots.
    16. Create new image in Photoshop (most other graphics programs could work too) at the 1920x1200 required size.
    17. Open screenshot in Photoshop.
    18. Copy the entire screenshot, and paste into the new image.
    19. Resize and adjust the positioning of the screenshot so only the best parts of the screenshot remain.
    20. Save as .jpg.
    21. Congratulations. You now have a very nice screenshot without any really extensive editing!

    Enjoy!

    Enjoy!

Great tips/technique, I had no idea that the renderscale and setregionfov commands could be changed within demorecord. Now if only I could play with min graphics for speed and up them in demorecord.
