    But yeah, leveling is bad in DR. Even worse considering half the story quests are patrol mission. And there is no replayablilty, since the missions are the same no matter your allegiance, and the dialogues are exactly the same, except for a few (the first mission with Neelix, other than that, it's the same).

    Even then, it would be better if they lowered level requirements for those missions so they aren't broken up and so the player has more replay options from 55-60.

    there is supposed to be more XP coming at least for the DQ stuff, and it's on tribble but i dunno if i will play till winter wonderland, to many mad people, to many gates to climb, it's turning people against each other even with the elephant right in the room, maybe Q will help us all out a bit, take care everyone.

    You know, if you forget those 10 new levels, you can just play the game as it ever was. Nothing has changed. Today I played Dyson ground with a level 50 character. I got enough marks to buy two items of the Dyson ground set, but somehow I think this is not the goal of this new expansion.

    Did Ethan Philips, Garreth Wang, Robert Picardo and Jeri Ryan show up for new episodes, while the players have to play old stuff? A game maker should make a game, a good one and not make something to keep people busy. This feels like watching an episode of Voyager that is interupted each 5 minutes by 15 minutes of adds. You will zapp.

    I guess I just don't get it.

    I play casually. I had 4 level 50 chars when DR came out. Now I have a 60, 59, 59, and 58.


    I DOFF, STF, and run storyline missions. I collect marks. That's it. I haven't run a single patrol in ages.

    And the best part? I have -not- set foot in the Delta Quadrant yet.

    Leveling in this game is insanely easy. Some people apparently just want an instant-level 60 button, I guess.

    That's because you have story mission to do pre-DR. Most veteran players don't. We did them a long time ago, and now they give ****** xp reward.

    Pre-dr leveling was insanely easy. Post-DR it's dull, boring and full of level gap. But how would you know since you didn't even set foot in DR ?

    You can't be starving because I have a sandwich, right ? :)

    Woah sorry, something came over me there... anyhow leveling post level 50 is just punishing. I will never complete my specialization at this rate. It will literally take me years. At least I only have one character.

    After listening to people for YEARS complain about how easy it is to get to 50, I really couldn't care less what the complaint is now.

    Well, i hope that the exp rate will be changed a lot as soon as possible. As it is it seriously sucks.

    Seriously, leveling is a piece of cake in STO. It took me 3 weeks to get from 50 to 60,
    and I played only 3 days a week for 2-3 hours each
    Besides pre DR people complained that it was too easy to level :s

    I didn't see any complaints about levelling being too easy pre-DR, but post-DR it's just boring actually, having done all but two of the Breen missions with my lvl 51 alt and only got one section of the white level bar (and that's the first pass, not replay rewards), it feels quite hopeless.

    I gave up on leveling. lvl 50 for Dinosaur battlezone is all I need. Don't forget how many levels you shall need after 60 to finish specialisations. lol

    They gave leveling a serious (and underhand) nerfing not long ago. Have you actually had a look at how little your XP bar moves after a patrol, STF or story mission now?

    If people are going to say that leveling is a piece of cake, please make sure you're basing it on the post-nerf leveling speed that people are complaining about and not the pre-nerf speed which actually wasn't great. I still had hope of getting all the Specialization Points before I retire... I'm not so sure now.

    At least one people in this very same topic said DR leveling was fine, and later admitted he never set foot in DR, being leveling thanks to pre-dr story missions.

    And to think I'm dying over here just going from 1-50 on an alt.

    For reals, I would pay 50 dollary-doos to get 1-50 with T5 all reps.

    I did 55-60 after the nerf, leveled with 2-3 patrols, DR missions and a foundry mission at each time I played.

    Leveling is a little longer than I expected, for sure. But I had no problem getting through by spending some time on Kobali, doing PvE content that I'd have been doing anyways, plus running the new PvEs and testing out the revamped queues. I didn't end up going back to do any of the old patrols or story missions. I just kept up with my DOFFs and my regular dailies, and that filled the gap nicely.

    Even now, I find myself getting a specialization point every handful of days. Especially while my fleetmates and I are running PvEs to level our ships, or to get materials for upgrading / selling.

    Same here but I was able to do it mostly from one queue when my fleetmates was on. Otherwise, it would have sucked big time.

    Just reporting in in the name of my 8 toons to agree with this threads title.

    Why don’t you let us level in a reasonable amount by playing regular endgame contend Cryptic?

    Where is the point to limit it to a single map?

    I rally do not get that in your game.

    be sure to do the daily defense missions, they are worth a solid chunk of xp and dil all at the same time and if you can kill fast, they do not take too long. If you do them every other day, you can do each one twice before the 20 hour timer starts, on the "off" day you accept the missions but do not run them.

    I run nine characters. They range from Level 54 to Level 56. All done by just doing my normal routines.



    My outlook on it is that I'll get there when I get there. There is no rush, as far as I'm concerned. I just play the game and not worry about leveling.

    I don't get it either..... I finished all the pre-DR missions pre-DR so started DR with the DR story arcs and 5 lvl 50 toons... presently have 2 60's, a 59 and 2 57's from a mix of doffing, DR story missions and STF's....... none of which required me the bang my head against Argala over and over again.

    Hire someone from south amercia or the philipheans to level your character when your at work......................................

    1. Doffing..... you're looking at several thousand XP from doffing daily if you prioritize your doffing missions right in context of time and XP reward

    2. Multiple toons..... preferably a variety of types..... if you cap one toon on mission content for their level, move to work on the next toon and just let the doffing catch up on the others till yo cap that one. If you're running from multiple factions and multiple types with differing ships and builds it will keep the variety up abit.

    3. Don't ***** about upgrade cost.... use it. If you designate one toon as an R&D toon and outfit it with R&D doffing, you can conglomerate mats from all your toons to that one for manufacture and leveling of R&D.... the cost is not prohibitive if you can make most of your own stuff for upgrading.

    In short, work smarter.... not harder.

    This... +1, except that my alt's are lvl 56-57. In fact, I have only just begun exploring patrol missions in the various sectors, and find that new tactics and loadouts are often necessary to avoid getting my head handed to me even at "normal" difficulty. So time spent branching out into other pre-DR content is valuable as further training for the day I finally venture into the actual DR content. By then, all my T5-U ships will be maxed on mastery, and hopefully all have a reputation set or a full set of upgraded gear.

    If I've learned anything in this game in the last year, it's that you can't rely on Cryptic's assessment of how playable DR will be with the old T5 ships & gear. :rolleyes:

    That's what I've been doing when "Stuck" between levels...

    I have only 3 characters but they are all now lv60, a large percentage of their levelling come just from daily doff missions, sure I had a little boost from running the mirror event daily and I have done about 5 DR missions each and maybe a few stfs and such but that's about it.
    I sure if I had not done the extra stuff I would have got to lv60 just from doff missions alone within the next couple of weeks or so.
    having said that being lv60 is not that much better then being lv50 so I really don't know what all the rush is, all I got for my trouble was a boff I didn't need and a trait slot, I would rather have got 50k dil like with reputation to be quite honest.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
