DS9 doesn't need a top to bottom revamp but could use some tweaks. Sick bay is missing, the scale of the interior seems off, and I'd like to see some modernizations of DS9.
I'm not saying ditch the station and start all over, leave the hull and most of the original interior as is. For example, replace the Cardassions sensor arrays with Federation arrays and give the interior Starfleet tech with a little Bajoran influence.
Basically give the area a feeling of growth and importance, add things to the map like ship repair facilities that would show the growth of the area. Take a look at port towns here in the real world to draw from; many have repair facilities, are designed to handle commerce, and have immense storage containers.
I too would like to see existing maps (Andoria, Vulcan) revamped and new maps like Betazed added to the game.
"Live Long and Prosper but always carry a fully charged phaser, just in case!". Arrr'ow
i hope they get some fixes in there too though, the club looks fun.
They normally list the patch notes the evening beforehand. You can also check out patchnotes to Tribble. Those are usual good indicators of what's coming soon in a patch.

Co-Leader of Serenity's Grasp
And perhaps a new sub-map... the Habitat Ring
Every Thursday they patch STO, or at least bring the servers down for maintenance.
