Thank you for the assist! New Player here and I have a general question. So I bought the STO game at a local store loaded it up and played brilliantly for 2 weeks but now I get disconnected all the time and sometimes 13 times in a row before it lets me in to play for a good 5 min stretch. So my question is...Is this the norm? If so I have other MMO's to play that don't do this and wouldn't be here in the first place if they didn't add the Roms.

Hope you don't mind me posting here as I have the same "can only reply after x time passed since registration." Even though I registered few years ago.
I'm having the same issue with lag, disconnects, and the SNR message, its been occurring for the last week or so.

Well I don't know about everyone else experiencing these problems but for me I manged to fix the issue.
Apparently a reset to the router/modem (or w/e you call that box) not only fixed the issue but increased my signal strength as well.
I recommend you try resetting it and see if that helps. I was looking at my Trace Route after performing it later again and saw it was getting cut off at the 2nd column in one location and the 3rd column of another.
So the issue was being caused along the way to the server and my PathPing shows some loss starting at around Atlanta.
Hope that fixes your issue and anyone else's who has this issue.
It seems like self reliance is the only real support one has for this game. Although the universe, characters and gameplay are impressive I tend to believe most people would have quit by now rather than continue dealing with these disconnect issues.
For those still struggling I have fixed my issue as well and if anyone else doing a google search like me for answers when no one else will step up reads this then hopefully this helps you as well.
I run my game on a low end HDMI Laptop with Windows 7 and was getting disconnected literally 30 times a day. The game as such was completely unplayable. I had done the NETTEST/PATHPING and all that nonsense to verify my connection and again neither the company nor community helped to break down what this means to me. To be honest the company did answer my 2 trouble tickets rapidly however the nebulous response that spoke to generalities before telling you to find your answers elsewhere was no help at all. If you are fortunate my fix will work for you but not everyone will have as simple an issue as I have.
THE FIX:
I was trying to play the game over Wi-Fi and after watching a friend get constantly disconnected from his Xbox game "Destiny" also played over Wi-Fi we had an idea. We took the cable out of his Wi-Fi router and plugged it directly from the wall to his Xbox and BAM no more issues! So after I got home I did the same thing and physically plugged my Laptop directly to the internet cable coming out of my wall and viola it works with very few interruptions now. Still I did not have to do that for STARCRAFT 2 or for STAR WARS THE OLD REPUBLIC so blame it on local issues all you want but there is something off in the networking architecture for this game and how it is routed.
Good Luck and Good Hunting to anyone that reads this.

Trace complete.
