Is somebody at Cryptic going to fix the blasted patch server? The launcher gets stuck at "patching" and won't move forward.
You do realize that there isn't anything wrong at their end with the patch server right? :P
In 6 hours since you posted, if there was a major issue there would be at least 50-100 posts about it. So that means there is an issue on your end, which is why the sticky in this forum says to read it first.
Please read that thread, and post your results. Make sure you've also rebooted your computer and possibly modem.

The launcher was working fine this morning and then my launcher crashed and now it's stuck on 'Patching". It's on Cryptic's end.
No it's not. If it was, then there would be a lot of people posting about it. There isn't which is why there is a thread offering ways to trouble shoot an issue.

Just to make it clear what Askray means by "No it's not":
There may be a problem with your fingers, your network, your router, your modem, your ISP, or one of the dozen or so servers between you and cryptic...
But it sure itsn't cryptic.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Downloading the patch on a 150mb fibre line with no latency / jitter or noise on the line and can download at full speed and speedtests coming back at full speed and 5ms latency and pingtest is coming back nice and clean and I am downloading the patch at a whopping 23kb/s
First time for everything I guess, I usually have 0 problems getting these patches done quickly.
There are many people having this problem. I am one of them. I hate how cryptic does this huge patch at the end of a timed event. Some of us were counting on this last day to complete the mirror event, not to patch for 12 hours...I hope cryptic extends mirror for this reason.
I have restarted my computer and restarted the modem , no results from that. Launcher did patch the new content and all files were verified (the one that warns you it might take 20 minutes to do so). Launcher remains stuck in patching phase of start up.

I do not know what else I am supposed to do but do hope this in some way helps to fix the problem . This has been going on since the servers came back up. I do have gold membership and am not stating this like its supposed to carry some weight but I was under the impression gold members had some priority log in. At any rate if a technician can suggest a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

'Net Test' throughput values in the first and third columns should be in the 300 - 500 KB/sec range, and your system can't maintain this on all the tested ports. And the fact that your sustained throughput values jump all over the place indicates that something intermittent is causing your connection quality issues...
'Trace Route' is showing very good network latency values, so what ever is causing the connection quality issue, its not a latency problem, and is something that 'Trace Route' can't detect...
Now your 'Path Ping' results.... (where are they ???)
Nov. 18, 2014: Guild Wars 2 patch downloaded at 2MB/s.
Today, STO patch downloads at ??/s.
The STO launcher doesn't seem to show the speed it's downloading but it's extremely slow. It was stuck at 'Patched 153.8MB/2850MB' for several minutes. It seems to be downloading about 1MB file size every few minutes.
Strangely, at the time I was typing this up, suddenly the patch started downloading faster, though not as fast as it usually goes. So maybe whatever it was got straightened out.
In response to grouchyotaku , The one thing that I totally forgot to mention was that the power went off in mid-patch (for the weekly patch I mean) . I was able to continue after the power came back on but maybe that is the reason for the all the trouble I was having before? At any rate I ended up re-installing sto again (which turned into a five hour waiting game but everyone says I got off lucky there) and everything re-patched fine that now I have the "Engage" button back.
To the tech team I have to give them credit, they answered my ticket the same day, both tickets *cringe* sorry for that it has been a while since I had to fill out one of those. Although the solution they offered was using a proxy server was something I had already done , it was still nice to see they answered back in a timely manner.
As far as the connection quality issues , I have had run-ins with that before. A thunderstorm arrives, the power goes out and then its my internet connection that slows down until whatever repairs are made. They are usually pretty good at that but I would not be surprised if that was the case here.

This advice is too late to help you, but in cases where file corruption, (caused by, lets say, a power outage during a file write) is suspected, the 'Force Verify' option in the launcher will usually correct the problem...
I'm having problems with it too. Cryptic support said to force verify - which allowed slightly more files to be patched but it still stalls. I'm waiting for their follow-up reply.
FYI, just because there haven't been many complaints doesn't mean that the problem isn't on Cryptic's end. In fact, complaint numbers don't provide anything more than circumstantial evidence. Such numbers are, in itself, of no direct diagnostic value. Please avoid insulting each other over such paltry arguments.

He's right ray, I have the same problem BUT it's a waste of time trying to get help from the devs as the problem isn't consistent.
I just keep closing and relaunching until it decides to work- sometimes as many as 6 times.
