I'd kill for a romulan version of the scryer. Just saying.
Sardak (Science Officer): Captain of a 23k DPS R'Mor Temporal Science Vessel, R.R.W. Vathos
Odan Brota (Science Officer): Captain of a 28k DPS Scryer Intel Science Vessel, U.S.S. Kepler

One thing to remember as well is that this first batch of T6 caters to the Intelligence specialization.

Cryptic has said that the system has been built in order to introduce new specializations down the road, so I'd read into that as a near-guarantee that there will be T6 ships for any new specializations.

There'd be no point wasting money on a T-6 carrier as long as pets suck. If you're going to fly a space whale you might as well get a Guardian and be useful, instead of a T-6 carrier that can launch two hangers worth of autonomous fireworks and be useless.
You talking PVE or PVP? Carriers are great in PVE.

Also, T-6 is the only way you're likely to get better pets because unlike weapons and consoles that you can upgrade indefinitely, the hangars are not upgradeable (even though they should be).

If they had 2 more rom t6 ship and put them on the delta pack, took out all but 1-2 fed ships and called it the R-Delta Operations pack I would buy it for the 129.00 they want for the fed-centric version. I am sure Klinks would feel the same way about a K-Delta Operations pack.

You're right, I'm a KDF player and the KDF ships offered weren't sufficient for me to invest in a pack where more then half the ships offered don't interest me at all. If Cryptic had a Fed, KDF and ROM seperated pack with all the other goodies included for a lesser price I'm sure more people would buy those packs, I know I'd get the KDF pack. But what am I supposed to do with 7 (to me) useless ships?

Not disagreeing with you but wondering out loud:-

    1 Is this more a measure of how well the DR pack sold, than how well just the ships sold?;

2 How many of those ships you see everywhere now, are only being flown to unlock the Trait, and will then never, ever be flown again by that player?

I'm quite happy with my Mat'Ha, and look forward to the fleet version.

This right here. Personally only ships I REALLY wanted was the tier 6 raptor Ahela(or however ya spell it), the uniforms, and the boffs and that would of been it for me.

Of course there will be additional T6 ships in the future. Klingons still need a science ship and a carrier and Romulans a science warbird, Feds some ship with at least one hangar bay as well.

I'm also half expecting a T6 Intrepid class (or a modernized version of it). The last time somebody asked Smirk during a lifestream about it he was just smiling at Trendy saying he wouldn't tell anything (yet). A T6 Intrepid would be an immidiate purchase for me. No matter if it comes as bundle or a single ship purchase.

Yeah but that would mean they would actually have to give a damn about the RR and KDF, which they don't care in the least...

Since they now have a new reason for people to buy a ship even if they don't want it (the starship traits), I'm hoping that they'll free up some of the locked down mechanics of consoles and bridge officer seats.

Making more things universal instead of locked down as they are would:

    1. Make a lot more ships genuine options for more players
    2. Reduce the labor needed to generate ship options for every combination of powers and consoles
    3. Ease the pressure on the Klingon and Romulan sides that don't have optimal choices for some roles/combinations
    4. Make building your ship actually seem more like building your ship

Yes, there could be balance issues if not done properly, but...balance concerns...now?

If you need a lore reason for T6 to allow this and not others (although I'd prefer if they retroactively added this to existing ships)...fine, "they're experimental and new, so command is relying on you test out and see what actually works."

Oh, and next T6 ship should be the Warship Voyager. Make it a Mirror Universe lockbox ship if you have to.

As far as new T6 ships go, I remain skeptical; the current lineup, for FED at least covers the core needs of an Escort (Phantom), Intel Science Ship (Scryer), Normal Science Ship (Dauntless), Intel Cruiser (Eclipse) and then the Guardian for the more generic Cruiser player.

Between them, these ships build a strong backbone for any FED player, lacking only a non-intel Escort. For all other purposes, the T5, or T5U get the job done. I can see additional skins being released sometime soon for these ships, but not necessarily new ships themselves, not outside of Events or Lock Boxes anyway.

It's a shame, cause there's some potential to be had with existing builds, and KDF players are still waiting for that new Negh'Var that was on it's way some 50 years ago...

The Universe Class (Ent-J?) would be absurd, I'm sorry. It could feature as a map object in a time travel episode arc, but as a playable cruiser, it's just too big and would otherwise look out of place.

    Source?

But what are we buying now? Ships? Or Traits? As stated above, for the most part, we have all the ships, and all the builds that can be made use of. There's very little variation to be had. Their only option (which I'd think them reluctant to do) would be to (re)release some of the T5/T5U ships as T6. I might be mistaken, but I don't think the Intel theme has taken off as much as they'd like it to have done either.

Ya'know, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the Winter (and Summer) ships remained T5 (or, after upgrade, T5U). Needless to say, if they did release the newer ones at T6, then I wouldn't mind a T6 Chel Grett Upgrade.

the source for the fleet T6 ships have been stated on the T6 ship CONSOLES and i believe in one of the live interviews? or the blogs.

First...lets be honest...do you think they're going to take any time to go back and modify old ships when building new ones is much more profitable? Sure maybe they'll make a T6 Intrepid or something perhaps...but they will be T6...they wont be a upgraded T5...which means 3k more Zen.

secondly...care to tell me how a greatly inaccurate and made up design from centuries in the future from our universe is going to make it into the hands of the Mirror Universe? Especially when there was no Mirror Voyager lost in their Delta Quadrant?

First: I said I'd prefer it, didn't say I was ever expecting it to happen. I'd also love to see any data you have that tells what is and isn't profitable because I'm very curious.

Second: Care to tell me how you know what happened to a Mirror Voyager, if there even was one in the (or is it "a"?) Mirror Universe?

This is a game (and Star Trek). I throw mirror out as a convenient "plot excuse" for a Warship Voyager, since the Mirror Universe would definitely be a place that develops something like it. If you'd prefer it can be a dimensional bleed from quantum universes (like Worf ran into with infinite variations on the Enterprise), or temporal inversion where the doctor from the future comes back to see his friends again and casually boasts about how "ridiculous this ludicrous design they made was" and promptly shares the entire schematics, or any number of other contrived plot excuses.

It doesn't have to make a whole lot of sense, just be fun.

Edit: Better answer - Q did it. Just for sheots & giggles.

This seems to be a logical step, though as far as I've read, it remains unconfirmed.

    Uh, really?

Clearly, you missed the FAQ section of the Intel ship details blog, stating that Fleet Intel ships are on the way. Geko and some of the other devs also mentioned this in various interviews.

Yes, there will be more T6 ships... sooner than later. A few other things to consider:

    1. I would be surprised (even doubt) that the winter ship will be T6. If it is, it may be one of the ships that doesn't have an Intel seat.

    2. Speaking of Intel seats... don't be so sure that all T6 ships will have Intel seats. I suppose that could change once they introduce a new primary specialization. I'd be shocked if they don't introduce a new specialization with Season 10. (Hmm... I may make a new thread on this!)

    3. I doubt there will be more Intel ships, as in, the specialized black-hulled starships. These are the new Dyson ships, people. Just a side show, not a permanent design change.

    4. Fleet T6 ships will be coming, and I bet fleet Vestas & Oddys are coming (one ship for each class, will be able to equip all ship-specific consoles, and with trait & hybrid seat).

I take it you haven't heard that Cryptic is nerfing hangar units.

I've been a fan of carriers since STO launched and the KDF Vo'Quv was the ONLY Carrier in the game. But with the announcement that they're nerfing hangar units, I would not recommend buying any new Carriers or any higher echelon hangar units. Not until Cryptic shows how badly they're going to hammer hangar units.

However, it should be noted that future Tier 6 ships may not always come with one.

True, even the initial T5-U Q&A Dev Blog mentioned that not all T6 ships would have Hybrid seating. As far as a new Specialization... I honestly haven't bothered grinding the 10 actual levels followed by 35 (minimum) pseudo-levels necessary to fill even one Primary and one Secondary Specialization; they'd have to make some significant changes to advancement to make any additional Specializations worthy of note, IMHO.

I get what you're saying, but if these are the new Dyson ships they're still about 2 KDF and 2 Rom ships short... which is sort of why I didn't bother to preorder the Ops Pack. I might pick it up via the Dilithium Exchange if I decide I want 4 of the ships in it... we'll see. In any case, for the Intel line to be completed they've still got a quartet of ships to add.

The Fleet T6 were mentioned in the initial T6 Q&A Dev Blog... as being due some time after the launch of Delta Rising. As far as T6 3-pack re-issues? Doubtful... it's probably more cost-effective to re-skin a few T4 ships and sell them individually. After all, those 3-packs already have the T5-U11 options for sale, and re-issuing those 3-packs as T6 would negate any motivation to purchase the T5-U tokens for them.

Unless they change the required FSM cost of a Fleet T6... let's say, 6 FSMs instead of 5, or 2 FSMs instead of 1 (if you bought the regular T6 model)? I could totally see this happening.

Plus, even if there is a T6 Fleet Vesta or Fleet Odyssey... they wouldn't come with the consoles. You'd buy the 3-pack to get the consoles (and a discount on the Fleet version)... but can choose either 700 ZEN to upgrade to T5-U (and would still be able to choose which of the three ships works the best for you)... or 1000 ZEN to get 2 FSMs and a Fleet T6 (with 13th BOFF power, potential hybrid seat, a possible trait, and a fixed bonus with no variation).

Except that the 3-packs are T5-10, and upgradable to T5-U11. That would leave Fleet T6-11 versions of the 3-pack ships in the same state as much of the KDF Fleet lineup, with no potential for a FSM discount. That would in turn leave each Starship Trait locked behind a single-character purchase of (using your proposed 6 FSM's) 3000 Zen... which is the price of an account-wide T6-10 unlock. I just don't see that being well received.

Unless you are suggesting that owning the lower-tier vessel that a Fleet ship is based upon should unlock a FSM discount. If that's the case, you'll have widespread support amongst KDF players and very little support from the company...
