Yeah, I've seen more 3K Scimitars and I've seen 30K+!

Indeed, people buy it because they think it's OP and an iwin button.... but just like anything in the game the scimi needs to be equipped correctly for the play style you're aimed at. This could be an A2B FAW boat with BA's, it can be a high maneuvering DBB/DHC BO/CSV build... but simply throughing soem TRIBBLE on it and running into battle is not going to give you an insta win..... in fact more likely to give you insta death when you keep blowing up. It has nice hull... but for its base size and maneuvering capability without console additions, it's a glass target.

Really not one post have I seen the truth.

You can take the same BOFFs, DOFFs, and equipment off another ship.
(From a known good setup of course.)
When you put the same setup on the Scimatar it gets 5k or more instant DPS.

The ship must have hidden variables that allows for it to do more damage.

Many people think it's this way on purpose to sell.

Probablt from its inate critd/crith boost. you crit more often alittle harder and you can see an appreciable rise in DPS through a match.

Ya know, when you say "epeen" and "ACT", it makes it sound like you're just butthurt over poor numbers.

I personally (pre-DR) parsed and logged over 100 ISE runs. With a standard deviation of under 8%, the results are consistent enough to use ISE as a standard for judging comparative DPS. A build and pilot that does 30k in ISE is certain to do more damage (in PvE) than a build and pilot that does 5k in ISE.

I don't disagree with about how to measure DPS.

Let's talk about what nobody wants to said and what the OP is asking.

The Scimtator has hidden PROCs, EXTRA MULTPlERs that are not list in its stats at the shipyard.

We all know this, just nobody wants to talk about it due to they all are worried it will get nerfed.

How do you explain to person who just bought a Fleet Ar'kif that yes it's very similar.

No you will not do the same DPS as a Scimatar, sorry I know what the shipyard stats say.

Yes when you broadside they should be equal but they are not.

Not to ruin your tin foil hat but

the fleet ark has 4/3 weapons. Lets ignore the aft weapons for a moment, call those 100% equal. That means its a 4 vs 5 on the fronts, which is 20% more weapon damage on the fronts. That matters more if you are not doing a screwy beam array scim --- the front weapons on a DBB setup is going to matter a lot more than 7 vs 8 weak beam banks. Using beam arrays it is still over 10% damage just from having a weapon.

10% of tens of thousands is significant if talking FAW spam in a crowd of trash. And if using DBB frontal cone style, its still going to be at least 15% more.

Still not getting the point and I dont see the number of forward weapons making it

Ths shim takes no skill at all to pilot in pve anyone that thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. lol

Its powerful because it is so easy to setup to do stupid amounts of dmg so easily.

It is not hard to load a ton of beams... put some faw on it... at that point it really doesn't take any Piloting skill there are enough for weapons on it that you can load a 360 in back and have almost a perfect broad side all the time. (new changes to AP mean you can even put 2 360s in back now if your running AP).

What makes it OP though... its simply and its ALL 100% gear. Run a bunch of Superior OP rom boffs along with ONE Superior Reman... Also run enough of the Shim consoles that you can retain shields while cloaking... Now your set for 25% more DPS then anyone else can manage. Just make sure you cloak for 2s every 15s or so, to restart you decloak dmg buff.

Giving a ship the ability to retain shielding while cloaking... and then a way to reduce cloak to 12 or so seconds... and boffs that boost decloak dmg buffs to 15-24s. Was what broke this ship.

Its a great pve grinder ship I guess... but it is 100% broken as heck, and requires zero skill to do 40k+ DPS in... doing crazy things like 100k DPS doesn't really require much more skill, it requires more grinding for top gear, and being smart enough to know exactly when to recloak for your bonus and when to hit evasives to get to the next targets to explode.

I find it hilarious how some people talk anout how overpowered A2B is. Or rant about how it can keep its shields up while cloaking if you waste one of its console slots. As if those are some the reasons why a certain scimitar was able to reach 100k.

I'm sorry did anyone say that those were the reasons that a certain scim was able to reach 100k?

It's just got a lot of utility thats all. I dont know if i would call A2B OP...but it definately is cheesy. It allowed me to get by with just 3 tac abilities on my Scim o.O And for the consoles? meh some people just dont know any better, or they like the secondary shields kinda like a security blanket cause it makes them feel safe. Or they like using all 3 for the lolthalaronpulse mode. But just because dude up there mentioned 100k scims and a2b or secondary shields doesnt mean thats why they were able to do 100k.

    Crits Happen,

The question is can it repeatable and how much did DR increase the pets damage compare to what it will when they fix them.

I wonder how many of these "no skill at all!" people would be willing to post their parses and back up their claims.

This is a thread discussion about "Why Scimitar is OP". If A2B was so "cheesy" all of the top scimitar players would be using it. Except they aren't.

    uhh ok?

I said it was cheesy, i didnt say it was the best. When i say cheesy i mean as in it feels like a cheap build. I've done the old school EPTW-EPTS-EPTW-EPTS and doubled up tac abilities before A2B came out. On a whim i tried out A2B and it was so rediculously easy to play.

Not even sure how you went from cheesy to top scimitar players to "except they arent".

Why are you telling me this? I was replying to the guy that said:

Uh, no. Please feel free not to shift the burden of proof when making unsubstantiated assertions, thanks.
