people have also selectivly forgotten that they stated before this expansion ever hit they said and its in the blogs that levelling would be much much slower and xp was going to be adjusted. What was in the past is not what was going to happen at levels 50-60.
building mmo's is the most complicated form of programming around they have so many moving parts anytime you add something you break 20 other things and have to run back and fix it. Considering the size of the release the launch was actually way above average for first day and stability.
If a bug makes it to live it doesnt mean that its something people should take advantage of it happens in games all over from large and small companies. People admit to knowing about it and actually REPORTING this stuff on a test server so they already knew it was wrong which is the baffling part LoL. They decided to despite the fact they knew it was a nono (otherwise they would not have reported it on the test server) to not only do it themselves but pull in other people as well.
The logic "well they didnt fix it on test" is an attempt to shift blame ones own decision to take advantage of the situation hoping they would not get caught. Its likely ironically that if people had not gone overboard with it they would have just patched the issue when they got to it and no one would have been rolled back, but people went overboard and forced it into the "do now pile" of priorities.

Personally, I find it... acceptable that people did use this opportunity to level faster. The bug itself is Cryptic's fault.
But you weren't entitled to the levelling speed just because there was a loop hole. If Cryptic goes to stop it, you don't get to claim you're punished for your behaviour or Cryptic wronged you by closing the loop hole.
Can't one just enjoy that "oversight" for what it was, and accept that it couldn't last?
There are other issues that certainly need to be talked about. People do not like that they can't move from mission to mission and instead have to find some in-between XP source. It just ruins the flow of the story. I can understand Cryptic's desire to have the content "last longer", but this method may just not work, and there might just be no way to satisfy that desire, because creating the story content will always take longer than playing it.
They still have the long levelling path to maxing out all specialization in there that can give people material for many weeks or months to upgrade all their chars. Maybe they should just accept that as sufficient.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Just like the other oversights they fixed in the past. Clickie-foundry dailies, dismissing common starbase doffs for dilithium, foundry farm missions etc...
The only sad part is, that those oversights have often already been happening on tribble but still didin't get adjusted or fixed before being released.
Just shows again that - in contrast to other mmos - that cryptic's live realms are nothing but giant beta servers.

whoa, look out, that looks dangerously like logic and we don't tolerate that stuff here
Exploit!!! Logic Is Not Allowed For It Causes The Mindless Wallet Carriers That Pay Our Bills To Revolt Against Us!!!
IF YOU ARE READING MY SIG - THEN YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG
That is just one supposition packed on top of another supposition and finished with another supposition .
Good job .
... and Mirror Invasion say Hi ...
Just how is he a troll for speaking the truth?
You don't understand. It's not exploitation until they decide it is. It's so simple.
