Boff Trainer Not Working

This bug seems to be affecting only one character on my Account

D'Saul@primar13 cannot use the Boff Trainer.

I cannot use the one on New Romulus Command, nor can I train Captains Skills to my boffs of the same Career type through the Trainer Window..

I have done the following to attempt to rectfy the situation.
  • Change Ships
  • Change Boffs slotted in Ships
  • Dismiss and Reclaim the Intel Boffs
  • Change instances of NRC
  • Log out and In
  • Change Characters
  • Rename Boffs

I do have over 600K EC on this Character so that is not the problem.


Edit: Zero was around and help with some trouble shooting, suggested that it might be an issue with the Character and that she would poke Software and have them take a Look.

    Seems to be an issue specific tol Romulans, both of mine had the same problem as did a bunch of other players at the time. Tried most of the above too, and at both New Romulus and the Alliance homeworld trainer. My KDF and Fed characters were working as intended.

    i'm having the same issue with my Romulan(KDF aligned). All the boff skills on the trainer are greyed out. I seem to remember this being a bug on tribble during testing as well.

    Same problem here.

    Three romulan captains, tactical/engineer/science all KDF aligned, can't train their boffs at their respective skills and the trainer at New Romulus command doesn't work either. The window shows all skills grayed out in both cases.

    The trainer at Qo'nos can train boffs though.

    It may be related but I have been unable to train the Xindi Bridge Officer at ESD.

    Thanks for the tip on using the BO trainer on Quonos. For training Captain-only skills I guess we'll just have to pass the BO to a non-romulan KDF Captain until a patch fixes this.

    I suppose I should specify that it's my Fed who cannot train his Xindi BOff, nor can BO skill trainers on ESD or Fleet Starbase. So there might be more to this, with a variety of newer BOs being borked at different trainers.

    I'm having the same issue with all three of my KDF allied Romulans. One of each career.

    To be honest I was expecting this to be fixed by the time I logged back in today. Therefore I thought I'd better add my voice to the thread on discovering it hadn't been.

    I have this problem with my KDF Romulan, my Fed Romulan seems to of been spared the bug. Hope it gets fixed soon.

    No fix in patch notes... guess we will wait for next week

    I can confirm this, I cannot use my character to train my bridge officers. The bridge officer trainer on new romulus does not work, i have to travel to quonos to train my bridge officers.

    I have a KDF aligned romulan tactical officer.

    I was very much surpriced that this was not listed anywhere in the recent patchnotes..

    Yup, still can't train by any means after patch..

    I'm having the same problem with my Romulan Captain, but also noticed that skill points that I had spent on my officers to level up abilities were gone. They still have their officer ranks but no points in the skills.

    While I can still function because I already had some officers leveled up so their abilities are usable, It can get frustrating when you want to change your abilities to match your new ship.

    Any update devs? What's causing this problem? It's obviously either something complicated enough that you couldn't add a fix for it in the Oct 16th patch. Or you feel like it's not affecting enough people to be a priority.

    It's quite annoying not being able to train FAWIII etc.

    Can anyone else who's experiencing this please confirm something for me. Are your affected characters Alien? All three of mine are. And that may be a reason for it only affecting a minority of characters (if that's even the case).

    nope.... It is all my rommy Characters. Can't train on New romulous or faction trainers.

    Two Romulans and a Reman, all KDF aligned, plus all the guys in my fleets that are having the same problem, plus everyone in gen. chat at who's the trainer when I've been there :P

    Whatever's causing it, it seems it's either not a simple fix or hard to track down (or both). Bit annoying that I just bought one of the T6 cruisers on DR release day and can't really use it until this is fixed, hopefully sooner rather than later.

    Oh really? The KDF/Fed trainers don't work for you either? I can train on Qo'Nos. Just can't train on New Romulus or train officers myself. Seems like we're having varying degrees of the same glitch then.

    And thanks... I made an assumption that it wasn't that common an issue because this thread is so quiet and I haven't heard it mentioned alot in-game lol

    Same issue: my KDF Rom can't train BOffs with new skills. One other thing I haven't seen mentioned here; I can't even use saved bridge officer candidates to 'train up' an active BOff.

    Same here. My KDF-aligned Romulan Engineer (lvl 45) is also unable to retrain BOFFs at the BOFF Trainer or train BOFFs herself.
    Other characters on my account, including a Science Fed-aligned Romulan, are able to train BOFFs correctly so this problem is limited to this character.

    I have this issue, basically all my BOffs arte in a "locked" state if you like, I cannot train them in new powers, I cannot invest points into existing ones and I cannot promote them!

    So at the moment I cannot enjoy the new Intel BOffs or powers. :(

    By the way my character is a Fed Sci.

    I know you guys at cryptic have alot on your hands, but this is the whole romulan faction were talking about cant train skills. Iam not sure if fed can but kdf rom got lucky and can still train in qunos but new Romulus and captain skills cannot be trained. This is effecting a large group of people and is almost gamebreaking for some that are unable to progress because they cant set up there new ship. You all got to make this a priority its got to be one of the most frustrating bug released with delta.

    So far for me this is isolated to kdf roms/remans. My fed roms can all train just fine, however kdf roms cannot train at the boff trainer on new romulus, nor can they train captain trained abilities. I have found the KDF trainer on qonos to be able to train my rom boffs.

    Can confirm that I am having the exact same issue on a KDF Romulan Sci and that my friend's KDF Romulan Tac has it as well (I asked him to train a boff for me and realized this issue was not unique to me!)
    Any workarounds? This is pretty infuriating- I was about to upgrade 2 of my bridge crew to Superior Romulan Operative - and pretty much disables any idea of getting a new ship layout (such as, say, the Romulan Intel ships which I assume you want me to buy... but as is, I would be unable to use)

    I was able to buy cheap BOFf's thru the exchange that had the skills I wanted and trained ul. This was an expensive work around and they are still not perfect since I couldn't find all the skills I wanted but I am able to play for now. Hopeing it's fixed before I reach levwl 30

    Very annoying and having this problem too. Can't play like this please fix it.
