Well... the loadouts don't exactly work on Holodeck either.

Hah! No bug makes my day bad like the loadout system. It wipes my tray clean of BO abilities at leisure.

Can't I at least disable that ****-t? I Don't want loadouts. I only use ONE ship and ONE set of equipment on it.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Cryptic has a habit of introducing new systems and never bothering to finish them. Don't expect the loadout feature to ever work. It costs money (time) to fix stuff, they just don't have the manpower to dedicate fixing old content and systems. They're too busy making content to keep us in so investors(PWE) are happy.

You must be new here! :) This will hit the main sever next week, integrally, without a thing fixed. Remember, you heard it here first.

EDIT: Keep in mind, pre-patching has already started. What You See On Tribble Is What You'll Get.

You should be wrong...but you aren't.

There is one thing i dont understand. There are out there people that still use the loadout system, even knowing its broken since the day 1????, and this is of course focused to the op. Of course, people that uses the loadout system have no rights at all to complain, since its known this feature is bugged as hell and it never worked and everybody knows it.

If you know that feature is broken, and you keep using it, its your own problem. Live with it. I really dont care if they broke it even more, since i never used it. The simplest solution will be to just destroy the loadout system for good, but i guess cryptic prefers to have another broken feature in the game and loadout slots in the c-store just in case any newbie buy em lol :P

Seriously, i dont get people.. of course i understand perfectly now why cryptic doesnt bother to fix or just delete some features... xD.

I really need to quote this for posterity, as this is the richest form of Cryptic apologetics I've come across in a long while, LOL. Cryptic makes the loudout system horrendeously broken, and we are to blame for using it. :P Good one!

I am not surprised at all about this. Problems like this has been going since the game originally launched. As a programmer myself, I find this very sad from a programmer's perspective.

*Opens a can of beer and brings out the popcorn* You see, friend...I'm only here to watch STO bugs grow into something truly horrendous. This doesn't even make my top 10. Btw, anyone want some beer or popcorn?

    Sure, I'll take a N

But really OP, Cryptic pushing bugs live, intentional or not, has sadly become the norm, but I do hope that they will fix this before it hits live, and if not by DR telease, then very shortly thereafter.

The thing of it is, though, that, with the advent of DR, the loadout system becomes even more important. Heretofore, for example, I could leave my multiple Borg sets on my various ships. Now, of course, with the upgrade system in place, you'll only ever want to slot the upgraded items. Like ever.

Seriously, it's time they fixed these loadout bugs already.

The loadout system is not the cause of your bridge officers going AWOL. This has been happening since the introduction of a permanent small craft selection.

What ever they did to make this possible broke the character database pointer files. It is highly likely that this is one of the causes of our loadout issues as well.

Dude, wake up. Why do you think cryptic keeps releasing things in a hurry, broken and bugged? because people keep using em no matter what. Why is cryptic going to bother to do things better and waste more time and efforts in em?. I didnt say anything out of the ordinary, actually.

Monopolies tend to have that effect. It's either not play, or play, but keep the pressure on regarding bug fixes. Cryptic can thank whatever deity they adhere to, that there's no other Star Trek game out there.

Still doesn't make it our fault Cryptic keeps making buggy stuff. Believe me, if I had *any* say in QA at Cryptic, things would look entirely differently.

You know if you have been playing STO since beta all the bugs eventually are taken for granted to the point that sometimes I wonder if they ever implemented a perfect bug free update you kind of want to complain that there should have been a bug in it for everyone to complain about! :D

There have been some really tiresome things that put a strain of folks impetus to play the game over the years. The DOff UI auto sort tick boxes (could be a design intention to slow the process down) for example and possibly this I can see as Ad Tedium to Ad Nauseum for some.

I tell you what i do, when i set the first time my loadout and boff/doff seats i grab my smartphone and take a quick picture of my loadout. its much easier to rearrange the loadout from a picture. thanks crypic for doing a good coding work. but since i had to rearrange my loadout nearly every time i fly a stf or switch the ships or change the map, i dont need more my smartphone, its perma saved in my bioneural harddrive. lol

Another reason I suspect making boffs not get loaded, is what I call their 'UPD-style' propagation of tray/station data. Honestly, that entire system is programmed in a very shoddy manner.

FAKE EDIT: I don't think the current devs are incompetent per se, but rather, they keep extending on very old code, written long before they ever started working for Cryptic, so that no one really knows exactly how it works any more. Let's face it, shipyard slots have been there since like for ever (since the beginning?). Most all loadout problems are based, one way or the other, on the very broken static entry-point programming of the shipyard database.

Were it me, I had disregarded that entire static database system, and built something normal from scratch. And that would likely have been done faster, too.

Perhaps this is because I do not have 4+ loadouts for each ship or something.. (Usually only two.) but I have almost no issues with the Loadouts system. Switching between them is flawless, and applying a loadout to a ship that has no/unrelated gear on it works fine. Only issue I have is the visuals not remembering if I had them disabled, but I'm not convinced that was intended to happen anyway.

Only once in a while will a loadout apply improperly for me, and that's usually limited to set powers (Assimilated Tractor, MEF, ect.) not popping up in the powers tray.

As for the bugs on Tribble.. eh, to be expected really. As long as the real game-breakers are fixed or down to a minimum I won't be overly upset. It is a bit sad that a game this mature would be in the state STO is, but I've gotten used to it over the years. STO has always been a love/hate relationship for me and I'm sure it will continue to be. For me, it's less about the quality of the game as it is the quality of those who play it. As long as Cryptic/PWE don't do something to completely ruin the game, my friends and I will continue to play and enjoy it.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm not bashing anyone here. Just stating how I feel about certain aspects of the game it's self.

Because tribble bugs affect live holodeck servers how?
because we know full well that when the patch is applied this bug will carry over . 4 everything crypitc fixes when a update comes out most everything they have patched in the last 6 months will be broken again , we will be back to broken or missing tailor options , missing ship materials and windows to loadouts back to where they were 4 months prior. cuz they dont do proper systems patching , they use a old master when applying patches . which breaks when they apply all the new systems back in which requires them to take the next week to months to do patches to fix things they have fixed to making new bugs that unless makes them hemorrhage money wont be fixed just listed as working as intended .
I might be seen as critical but after all these seasons seeing these updates to the game this is what ive observed to be the truth in how crypitic operates . half assed
