The Ent-F is still gonna be the flagship.

Anyways... I noticed earlier that people were wondering about the design changes between Enterprise and TOS. Well... apparently there were plans to refit the NX class to add a secondary hull if the show continued into a Season 5, making her look closer in outward design to the TOS era ships, like a precursor design.

    TOS Enterprise launched 2245
    1701-F launched in 2409
That's 164 years and 7 Enterprises for an average 'lifespan' of 23.43 years. The F is just a year old, can we give it a rest on when the G is gonna roll out, please?

I think they need to move the time line a tad faster.. I mean if you think about it.. 2409 was insane with the numbers of disasters and wars. 4 years of game play to effect 1 year of game time with the amount of wars and destruction.. none of the governments would be able to keep up with those types of loss's in that short of time.

It may of been a better idea for Cryptic to say these last 4 years (game time) of events were from 2409 to 2412 and then with this new expansion set the time line for 2413. This would explain new T6 star ships a tad better after such a war torn and combat loses over the last 4 years.. better then saying all this happened in 1 year.

Lol, i always had that in my mind too.

I like the front part of the -J, its wide saucer and integrated deflector looks sexy IMO. But the rear part... meh. Especaily those thin nacelles and pylons look totally out of place compared to the rest of the ship.

    @sf911
Agreed, its by far too early for a new Enterprise.
But what they COLD do is to finally introduce some alternative ship models for it.
I'd especially welcome something that doesn't look ike a glorified Sovereign/Excelsior. As much as i know, the Odyssey design is supposed to be a worthy sucessor of previous Enterprises.
So i would like to see some round and wide saucers and some different designed Pylons and Nacelles too. Just for the sake of having something to experiment with, so we where able to create some nice looking ships for a change. (instead of Cryptics boring tongue saucers and streched nacelles look all the time.)

    This ship:

    http://dangerousdac.deviantart.com/art/Dac-s-Enterprise-F-FINAL-196419477

looks like a better trek-version of the enterprise J from enterprise, at least to me. Although I'd like to see this ship in game post haste, it would make a great T-6.

Personally, I think that the half measure of making the current top tier lineup reasonably keep pace with the T-5U system is fine, and ultimately we may find that the extra new and shiney's on the proper T-6 ships doesn't really make much of a difference. We shall simply have to wait for the press release on the stats and abilities of what proper T6 gets... and also see how it actually performs in game. I'm sure they could always sweeten the T-5U pot later, like how all cruisers eventually got the commands that initially launched on the avenger only.

I agree that, if the devs wanted to, they could already retire the J and move the enterprise line along, give her a nice epic death like when ESD got wrecked and rebuilt.

Her crew could survive if they want, she can just valiantly take too much damage saving something from the iconians, her core about to burst, her crew narrowly escapes, perhaps she's set on an auto-pilot course so her death is the killing blow to some iconian/alien monstrosity that would have ended us all .... enterprise G, here we come.

Keep in mind guys, the Enterprise-J is a very, very large ship. We know that the flagship isn't necessarily the largest in the fleet, so its size might have to do with its role. Maybe a generation ship for exploring the universe?

Intentions are all well and good, but the fact remains is we got the USS Akira for ENT :)

U.S. people always fascinate me, all those fancy accents :D

Hey! Every country has all sorts of accents, but for the sake of being O/T for a bit, here's some from the U.S.:

    Southern States
    Cajun / Louisiana
    Northern California ("Hella")
    Southern California
Los Angeles (Southern California, a.k.a. "Where you from?" "L.A. fool!")
    Baahhhston (Boston)
Texas (Oh, you guys and your state pride)
New York (Have to say this with attitude) *
    New Jersey *

    * = I have found that NY/NJ have a need to insult each other regularly :D

I'm missing way more. Not to mention regional stereotypes. But I figure every country has this kind of stuff. And going abroad, even to other English speaking countries catches you off guard a bit to get used to accents and of course, lingo. Travel definitely livens things up.

In a unit I was with before, we had an RAF exchange officer, a Major. Great guy but always jabbing us how we butcher English and that we spoke, "American." During one the Marine Corps Birthday Balls, he brought his wife to attend of course. She was listening to us talk, laughed, said "You Americans are such tarts!"

I didn't know what tart was until later :D

I mainly meant "Cleavland" as in the character Cleavland Brown from The Cleavland Show, but that's probably true too.

The U.S.S. Enterprise-to-ship tier pattern has been this:

Tier 1: NX and TOS Enterprises

    Tier 2: Enterprise-A

    Tier 3: Enterprises-B and -C

    Tier 4: Enterprise-D

    Tier 5: Enterprises-E and -F

    Therefore...

    Tier 6: Enterprise-G

    Tier 7: Enterprises-H and I

    Tier 8: Enterprise-J

    Just spillin' my thoughts here.

Wow.... who knew the next Enterprise ship was going to be called "Enterprise-G"... you must be a genius!!!! :D:D:D

I doubt the Enterprise-G will be a Tier 6 starship because it has only entered active duty in 2409 when the Enterprise-E was retired. The Enterprise-F would more or less need to be destroyed before being replaced by the Enterprise-G so quickly. It is very unlikely that the next starship will be Tier 6 because in all likelihood, the Enterprise-F will have a long service life. Or at least long enough the the next ship to be named Enterprise will be a Tier 7 starship.

The flagship of a fleet is not necessary the most powerful starship class. Rather it a starship that symbolizes the ideas of the Federation.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. the Sovvy is just dead sexy. and i LIKE the oddy, except the annoying phaser emitter at the tips of the nacelles.

    galaxy? meh at best.

Tier 5 existed for around 30 years before the Enterprise-F existed. Hell, tier 3 existed long before the Enterprise-B. Why can't it be likely that tier 6 exists for a while before the Enterprise-G launches?

The shift from NX to Enterprise A though does seem a bit of a strange design leap-
That's actually something that never got finished, due to Enterprise being cancelled after the 4th season. In the fifth, or something similar, they were eventually gonna upgrade the NX from what it is, to something like this: http://www.smcars.net/attachments/nx01_refit_diagram_r01lo1-jpg.108767/

And in addition, that fifth season likely would have explored the Federation-Romulan conflict that we heard from 'Balance of Terror', and might have even established T'Pol as being half-romulan.
    Was named Trek17.

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
