What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Launcher 'Unable to Authenticate'

After attempting to beam down to Qo'nos I got the 'Server Not Responding' and was booted to the log-in. Attempting to log-in left me setting at 'Connecting to Server' until it timed out again & returned me to the log-in.

So I closed the game & restarted - now I'm getting the message ' Unable to Authenticate' in the launcher.

I've tried no patch proxy, US Proxy & EU proxy - all are 'Unable to Autheticate' :(

My tracert has nothing slower than 56ms & no time-outs ... so I have no idea what's up.

Any ideas?

Yea i have the same right now.
Not sure whats up but STO has had network problems for the past few weeks, loads of patches of server not responding, lag, getting disconnects and being now unable to log in.

Trace routes are only part of the diagnosing issue -

I was running fine up until 4 hours ago ... I dc'd beaming to Qu'nos and I've been getting the 'Unable to Authenticate' as the launcher fails to connect & launch gameclient ever since. Even going straight through gameclient.exe fails to authenticate ... I can at least get to the in-game log-in screen that way but then I get the 'Server not Responding' fail.

Every other non-Cryptic game/program I have is connecting fine & the ARC launcher and ARC site are also able to connect & log me in ... it's just the launchers and game account servers that are failing to authenticate. :(

    Anyway ...
Here are my tracert, nettest, and pathping (which has never worked - I believe it's the cable modem that's black-holing the pathping and the tracert at hop 2 & I have no way to change that.)

Inconsistent sustained throughput results hint that there is some kind of connection quality issue going on here... But since your ISP has decided to block the diagnostic software, this really leaves you with no other choice but to contact your ISP Tech Support and request their assistance and diagnosing your connection issues to the STO Servers...

That's the same error I'm getting. Odd considering I never have any problems with STO.
